COL 11° [end S2]

Every passing moment brings us closer to the future, while time keeps moving relentlessly, leaving marks that can never be undone.
Unknowingly, Meinny’s pregnancy had reached its ninth month. Time had flown by quickly, and every day felt filled with hope and preparation. Meinny often reflected on this long journey, full of ups and downs, from the moment she first found out she was pregnant, to each passing day bringing her closer to the long-awaited day.
Now, in her ninth month, she felt the moment of her life approaching—the birth of their first child. Her husband, Jay, had always been by her side, offering full support. They had prepared everything, from the cute baby room to all the necessary supplies. But beneath all of it, Meinny felt a mixture of emotions—joy, anxiety, and impatience to meet their little one.
"A few more days," Meinny thought, as she looked at her growing belly. Every small movement from the baby inside reminded her that their lives were about to change forever.
The due date was getting closer, and all they could do was wait with hope, ready to embark on a new chapter as parents.
"Is your belly hurting, sweety?" Jay asked, noticing the slight grimace of pain on Meinny’s face.
"It’s nothing, hubby. The baby is just adjusting its sleeping position," Meinny replied with a small laugh.
Jay sat beside Meinny, who was relaxing on the sofa, her belly now large from the nine months of pregnancy. Gently, Jay embraced her from the side, allowing her to rest comfortably against his chest. His large, warm hand softly caressed her round belly. That gentle touch made Meinny feel calm, as if all the anxiety she had felt before simply vanished.
"Don’t be naughty, baby," Jay said softly, speaking to the belly. "Poor Mama, getting kicked by those tiny feet." His voice was full of affection and care, making Meinny smile, even though her body was starting to feel tired from the imminent labor.
Meinny closed her eyes slowly, savoring the comfort of her husband's embrace and the soft touch on her belly. The warmth and peace began to fill her body. The sound of Jay’s heartbeat near her ear added to the sense of safety. Slowly, she drifted off to sleep, feeling light in Jay’s arms.
With deep and calm breaths, Meinny finally fell asleep, experiencing a peace that only love and her husband’s care could provide.
Jay watched his wife with love, ensuring that Meinny was comfortable and safe, before carefully lifting her to their bedroom. Since the seventh month of pregnancy, Jay had decided to move to the downstairs bedroom so that Meinny wouldn’t have to climb the stairs and tire herself out.
"Sleep well, my love," Jay whispered after gently laying her down on their soft bed. He then left for his study to continue his work, which he had left the previous day because Meinny didn’t want to be left alone.
Jay had been working from home for the past week, as Meinny was due to give birth soon. As a good husband and soon-to-be dad, he wanted to be by his wife’s side during these final moments of her pregnancy.
"Huff...stay strong, Jay!" Jay said to himself before sitting in his office chair, unsure how long he would stay there.
An hour had passed since Meinny had fallen asleep in her husband’s embrace. However, she suddenly woke up with a sharp pain in her abdomen. Slowly, she winced, trying to endure the increasing intensity of the pain in her belly. It felt like something was wrong, and she couldn’t ignore the sensation.
Meinny tried to move, but the pain grew stronger, making it difficult for her to sit or even stand. With anxiety, she looked around the room, hoping to find Jay, who was always by her side. But there was no sign of him. The room felt quiet, with only her heavy breathing breaking the silence, adding to the tension and growing fear within her.
Is it time? Meinny thought anxiously. The doctor had predicted that she still had a few more days before giving birth, but now this strange feeling made her worry. The pain in her belly kept increasing, and it felt like she might deliver sooner than expected. Her heart raced, and her mind spun with thoughts.
Slowly, she tried to call Jay, but when there was no answer, panic began to take over. She tried to calm herself, thinking that maybe Jay was outside the room, or perhaps he was preparing for the delivery. But the pain kept intensifying, and she couldn’t wait any longer.
Meinny tried to get up, even though her body felt weak from the contractions that were becoming stronger. With all her strength, she walked toward the bedroom door, hoping to find her husband and get reassurance if she was indeed going to give birth sooner than she thought.
"Hubby..." Meinny said, gently rubbing her aching belly. A maid happened to pass by the room and quickly rushed to her.
She called for the other maid to immediately get Jay.
Meanwhile, the other maid quickly held onto Meinny to prevent her from falling to the floor. Meinny was already crying from the unbearable pain in her abdomen.
Jay came running swiftly to where his wife was.
"Hubby... my belly hurts so much," Meinny whispered as she received his embrace. She clutched his broad shoulder to try to relieve the pain, but it was in vain as the contractions kept coming.
"Shh. Stay calm, sweetheart. Breathe deeply. We’re going to the hospital now," Jay said, lifting her in his arms and rushing toward the car.
Before completely exiting the house, Jay looked back and shouted to the maids, "Please, get all of Meinny’s things ready. Send them to the hospital. I’ll inform you of our location."
The maids nodded silently, deeply concerned and worried about their mistress’s condition. In their hearts, they could only pray for Meinny and her baby’s safety throughout the labor process.
In the car.....
"Hiks... hubby..." Meinny sobbed, her face buried in Jay’s chest as she sat on his lap.
Jay gently stroked Meinny’s hair, trying to calm her down as she cried in his arms. With a soft voice, he whispered, "Sweetheart, you’re strong. I’m here with you, and we’ll get through this together. I promise, you won’t be alone."
Meinny sobbed, her red eyes full of pain as she looked up at her husband. "I’m scared, hubby... I’m scared of losing both of you."
Jay tightened his embrace, offering comfort. "Don’t be afraid, sweetheart. We’ll face everything together. I believe in you, you’re so strong. You’re an amazing woman, and I’ll be so proud of everything you do."
Gently, Jay wiped away the tears from Meinny’s face, kissing her forehead. "We’ll meet our baby soon. Our baby will be fine, and so will you. I love you, Meinny."
Meinny nodded, though the pain was still there, his words brought her a sense of peace. They looked into each other’s eyes, drawing strength from one another as the journey to the hospital continued.
At the hospital, Jay quickly carried Meinny, who was in immense pain, through the emergency room. His face was filled with worry, but his steps were firm. Meinny tightly gripped his hand, her eyes teary as she tried to endure the excruciating pain. In the busy hospital hallway, Jay was focused only on one thing is to help Meinny deliver safely.
Upon reaching the delivery room, the doctor and medical team, already prepared, quickly approached them. "Jay, Meinny, don’t worry. We’re ready for this," the doctor said with a firm but calming voice.
Jay helped Meinny lie down on the bed, still holding her hand with love and care. "You’re strong, my love," he whispered softly, trying to comfort her.
Meinny shook her head slightly, her face twisted in pain. "I... I’m scared, hubby. I’m afraid I can’t hold on. I’m scared of losing both of you," Meinny’s voice broke as she cried.
Jay gently stroked her hair, looking down at her face full of fear. "You won’t lose me, baby. I promise. I will always be by your side, no matter what happens. You’re the strongest woman I’ve ever known, and I’m so proud of you."
Tears flowed down Meinny’s face, but she felt a sense of calm in her husband’s sincere words. "I’m afraid this is too much, hubby..."
"Sweetheart, nothing is more important than us and our baby. We’ll get through this together. I’m here, always by your side. You’ll never be alone."
The doctor and nurses quickly got everything ready for the delivery, and Jay remained by Meinny’s side, holding her hand with love. "I love you, Meinny. I know this is hard, but I believe in you. You’re about to give the world the most beautiful gift."
Meinny looked at her husband with deep affection, even though the pain continued to come in waves. "I love you too, Jay. I want our baby to be safe. I want us to be a happy family..."
With a gentle touch, Jay caressed Meinny’s cheek, placing a soft kiss on her forehead. "We’ll have a happy family, sweetheart. This pain will pass soon, and we’ll meet our handsome son."
Meinny smiled faintly, looking at Jay with all the love in her eyes. "I believe in you. I just... want everything to go smoothly."
The delivery process grew more intense, but Jay never let go of Meinny’s hand. He kept speaking gently, giving her encouragement. "I’m here, sweety. Don’t worry. You’re strong. Our baby is strong too. We’ll be together, watching him grow up. We’ll be the best parents for him. Our baby will know how hard we fought for him, for both of you."
Every time the pain hit, Jay was always there, comforting and strengthening Meinny. He never hesitated, never complained. His presence, care, and love became the strength Meinny needed to endure.
Finally, after hours of intense struggle, the sound of a baby’s cry filled the room, breaking the tension. "Congratulations, Meinny, Jay. Your baby is born safely," the doctor said with a wide smile.
Meinny cried with joy, her body exhausted, but her heart was full of happiness. "Look, hubby, our baby... he’s healthy."
Jay looked at their baby, who was now being carried by the nurse. Tears of happiness flowed down his cheeks. "He's handsome, sweetie. He's so handsome, just like his mom and dad."
Meinny looked at Jay, her smile full of happiness even though her body was still tired. "We did it, hubby. We have a son."
Jay brought his face close to Meinny's forehead, giving her a kiss full of love. "You're amazing, sweetheart. I love you so much. Thank you for giving me the greatest gift of my life it is our son."
They embraced each other, momentarily forgetting all the pain and exhaustion. Now, they were a complete family, with their child born safely, bringing an immeasurable amount of happiness into their lives.
