SABRINA’S POV
“ Good morning, Ma’am Sabrina,” The security guard greeted me as I entered the main entrance.
" Good morning too. I will get going," I quickly and politely greeted him before running toward the elevator.
Aish, I am really dead right now. I could not understand why traffic is so heavy here in the Philippines. After tapping the seventh-floor button, I hurriedly took my cell phone from my bag to check how many missed calls I had already received from Aiden. However, I frowned in wonder because I did not receive even a single call or text message from him. Weird, is he not yet in the office?
" I am sorry," I apologized to my workmate when I bumped into her while I was busy running towards my desk.
It seemed she was not hurt because she did not become angry with me. I was near my desk when I noticed a lady exiting Aiden's room, then Aiden also appeared. It seemed like they were talking in a serious manner based on Aiden's facial reactions. I could not see the lady's face since she was not facing me. I could only see her back. There was something pinch my chest when I saw how the girl touched Aiden's chest, so I could not help but look away. I decided to walk towards my desk but stopped when Aiden called me.
“ Miss Cruz, in my office,” He shouted, so I nodded in his direction.
While walking towards my desk, I looked down, so when the girl Aiden with earlier walked on my side, I did not have a chance to see her face. Maybe it was all right since I did not want to add more insecurities to my life. Especially since her posture earlier emphasized elegance in her character.
After I put down my things on my desk, I immediately walked towards Aiden’s office. Before I knocked, I let out a deep breath to calm myself and maintain my workplace professionalism.
“ Come in,” I heard Aiden shout after I knocked.
“ Good morning, Sir Anderson.” I politely greeted him and bowed down.
“ Why are you late Miss Cruz?” He asked. He stood up from his swivel chair and walked towards me.
“ I was caught in the traffic, Sir. I apologize.” I admitted and apologized to him. I looked at him.
“ All right. Next time, inform me so my schedules will not be delayed,” I was shocked by what he said and how he talked to me.
“ Sorry, Sir, but with all due respect, there is no scheduled meeting for you on my calendar around this time,” I tried to be professional in front of him and hide my shock.
“ Does it mean you are allowed to be late because I do not have a scheduled meeting?” He asked me back. I do not know what is happening because the Aiden I am talking with today was different from the one I was with last night.
I hurriedly shook my head, “ No sir.” I replied and looked down.
“ Anyway, let’s go to the conference room. My interview will start in a bit,” He said, walking to my side.
I was frowning while following him since I could not recall that he had a scheduled interview today. While walking toward the conference room, I ensured I created a safe distance between us. When we arrived, I was dazzled by the simultaneous shutters of cameras. I remained at the end of the stage while Aiden walked towards the pulpit. I was still clueless about the agenda of this interview.
“ Miss Sabrina, according to Sir Aiden, please seat on that vacant seat in front,” one of Aiden’s bodyguards whispered.
“ All right. Thank you,” I thanked him before going to the vacant seat parallel to where Aiden was. It seemed like he strategically put me here, so I could focus on taking notes about the interview. If ever he needed something from me, he could easily see me.
The interview started. It was about the business summit Aiden attended in Singapore. I also heard this was arranged at the last minute, so it was not on my schedule. But I realized that Aiden was right. It was not an excuse that there was no scheduled meeting for me to be late.
“ Mr. Anderson, aside from your own expansion, there is some gossips that you are planning to collaborate a company with the Hudson Group of Company. How true is this?” the chubby reporter asked Aiden.
“ Well, that is true. Our families are good friends, so we decided to venture into a business together. For further details, wait for our official announcements,” Aiden explained. I realized he became more handsome every time he was in serious mode.
“ Sir Anderson, with the current plans of expansion of Anderson Group of Company, is this a sign also that you are getting married?” Another reporter asked, so I looked at Aiden. I saw how he slightly laughed because of the question.
“ Of course not. These expansions were planned a few years ago,” Aiden answered while avoiding my gaze, so I looked away. What was I thinking? Why am I expecting that we are getting married if his parents were against us despite almost 7 years of relationship with him?
“ Does it mean the only heir of Anderson Group of Company is still single and available?” A guy reporter asked. This time, I looked again at Aiden because we had actually talked about this question before. He said we would keep our relationship private but not a secret.
“ Well,” Aiden smiled and looked at me.
“ I am not. I already have a girlfriend,” He said without cutting his gaze to me.
I secretly smiled because of what he said. Those words slightly healed the pain I was feeling earlier. He kept looking at me, which made me wonder. He looked at his watch, so I already understood what he meant.
“ Everyone, I am sorry to interrupt, but that’s it for today’s interview. Mr. Anderson still need to attend a business meeting. Thank you,” I immediately said after standing up.
Aiden’s bodyguards helped him to get out of the conference room. I took my notebook from the chair and immediately left the room. I was shocked when Aiden seemed like he was waiting at me at the exit door of the conference room. When he saw me, he hurriedly started walking. I immediately followed him, but with a safe distance between us. He seemed so weird now, but maybe he was just tired.
While we were going back to the office, I noticed how employees whispered to each other. It seemed like they were also interested in knowing Aiden’s girlfriend. I stopped when Aiden suddenly stopped and looked at me.
“ Prepare the meeting room, now.” He instructed before turning his back to me and walking towards his office.

A few days passed, yet Aiden never communicated with me. Yes, we saw each other in the office but only talked about business. Then after that, he would immediately be asked me to leave his office. There were also a few instances in which I noticed him leaving early in the office, even if he did not have any scheduled. He did not send any messages or try calling me. I tried to understand him in the first few instances, but I could not help thinking now if what kept him busy to the point that he forgot about me.
" Do you know the latest news? Sir Aiden was seen with a girl last night in an expensive restaurant." I looked at my workmates because of what she said. It is still our lunch break, and we are here in the pantry room of the office.
" Really?" I asked her to confirm if what I heard was right.
" Well, it was some rumor circulating around the company," She replied. I breathe a sigh of relief. However, I instantly wondered when I remembered the girl Aiden with last time in the office.
" The woman that sir Aiden with last night, is she the same girl sir Aiden was with last time in his office?" I could not help but ask out of my curiosity.
" Well, yes. We thought that she was the girlfriend Sir Aiden mentioned in his interview last time," The girl responded. Those words were like knives stabbing deep into my heart.
" Oh anyway, we will go ahead first. Our lunch break is almost over, so we will just buy some milktea," She said to me.
" All right," I said and held the chair beside me because I felt like my knees became weak after hearing the rumor.
After they left, I fell on the floor. What is happening? Is Aiden cheating on me? I could not help but shed tears because of my thoughts.
