SABRINA’S POV
“ Sabrina, come and join us. We are going to a newly opened karaoke bar near the mall,” One of my workmates smiled at me. However, I gently shook my head as a sign that I declined her invitation.
“ I could not join you. There are things I still need to finish, “ I politely told her with a smile.
“ Psh, even Sir Aiden was not around, he still gave you a lot of work to be done. I pity you, girl,” She commented, but I only smiled at her.
“ It was not like that. There are some things I need to prepare because today is the flight of Sir Aiden returning here to the Philippines. I am certain that when he comes here tomorrow, a lot of meetings will flood his schedule,” I explained and tried my best to hide the excitement in my voice.
“ You are right. For sure, our days will be busy when he came back. Anyway, I should get going already because our other workmates were waiting for me in the lobby,” She said.
“ Sure. Enjoy there, and take care,” I smiled. That was her signal to run towards the elevator. She waved her hand at me before the elevator closed.
After the elevator closed, I hurriedly arranged my things, so I could leave the office. I wanted to pass by the grocery store to buy some ingredients I needed for my curry. I wanted to cook it for Aiden since it was his favorite. I am sure he can no longer be passed by my apartment later since he might be tired.
When I was sure I had already arranged my things, I left the office. I got into a jeepney and went to the grocery store near my apartment. When I arrived there, I hurriedly got the ingredients I needed for the curry. I took some ingredients for my chicken adobo. I will cook the chicken adobo for my dinner tonight and possibly my breakfast tomorrow. After half an hour, I finished buying the ingredients, so I rode the tricycle to take me home to my apartment building.
AIDEN’S POV
“ Good evening, young master. Will we go straight to your condo?” One of my bodyguards asked.
We are currently outside the airport. We actually just landed. I checked my wristwatch, and it was already seven in the evening. Maybe she is still awake.
“ Let us go to Sabrina’s apartment first,” I replied. My bodyguard seemed shocked because of what I said.
“ But sir! It seemed like you are too tired. It will be better if you take rest on your home,” He politely suggested.
“ She is my definition of rest, so let’s go,” I responded and entered the car.
My bodyguards hurriedly entered the car because he also served as my driver right now. I slightly leaned into the backseat and closed my eyes. However, I hurriedly opened it when what happened in Singapore suddenly popped into my mind. I let out a heavy sigh because of what had happened. I could not lie to Sabrina, but I also knew that knowing the truth would hurt her. I should protect her, especially her heart, no matter what it takes. I hope you will forgive me, Sab.
SABRINA’S POV
I am currently cooking my dinner when I hear someone knocking on my door. Who could it be? It was already late to visit. I was shocked when I realized who was knocking through the camera’s monitor installed on my door. I tried to compose myself to hide my happiness before opening the door.
“ What are you doing here, Mr. Anderson?” I asked while biting my lower lip to stop myself from smiling.
“ Going to my home,” He shortly replied and entered my apartment.
“ You are in the wrong address, mister,” I commented after closing the door and approaching him.
“ Hmm,” He said and looked around my whole apartment.
“ No, I am in the right address. This is where Ms. Sabrina Cruz live, right?” Aiden asked while having a mischievous smile.
“ Yes, so you are in a wrong address,” I replied while raising my right eyebrow.
“ Nah, where Sabrina is will always be my home, “ He replied with a wide smile. His smile made all my drops of blood go up to my face.
“ I do not know about you. It was getting late, yet you still have something on your sleeves,” I commented while hiding the romantic feeling I felt deep in my heart.
“ You love it, right.” He stated and winked at me. I shook my head because of what he did. Gosh, this man. He is really seducing me right now.
“ Stop it, Aiden. You just arrived here in the Philippines, yet you still have time to tell some punch lines. You should rest here for a while. I will just finish what I was cooking,” I pretended to be serious about telling him that. I also left him in my living room and went back to my kitchen to see if what I was cooking was finished.
However, I did not think a few minutes had passed since I left Aiden when I jumped off because of the person who hugged me from behind.
“ Hmm, smells good,” He said in his husky voice while smiling the back of my neck.
“ Stop it. It tickles me,” I said, but I could not stop myself from letting out a soft moan because of what he was doing.
“ Do you really want me to stop?” He seductively asked while playing with the back of my neck and my hair.
“A-Aiden, p-please s-stop, “ I stammered. His touch really makes me crazy.
“ I cannot hear you properly, my love, “ Aiden teasingly stated. I took a deep breath and gently tapped his hand around my waist.
“ Aiden, stop. “ I told him with authorities in my voice.
Aiden immediately removed his hands around my waist. I used that chance to face him. I did not know if I should laugh or pity him when I saw his reaction. He was raising both his hands while pouting. Sometimes, this guy is too childish.
“ You should freshen up. Take a half bath to calm yourself and stopped yourself for being stubborn,” I suggested to send him away from the kitchen.
“ Hmm, that will be a good idea, “ He replied with his naughty eyes roaming around me from top to bottom. I hit his shoulder because of what he did.
“ I told you to stop. Take a half bath now. I am certain that after you showered, the dinner will be ready,” I replied while pushing him towards the door of the kitchen.
“ Do you not want to take a bath with me?” He asked in a mischievous way.
“ Aiden!” I shouted, so he ran fast away from me while laughing.
I shook my head because of his actions. That guy, really. I continued what I was doing earlier. After ten minutes, the dinner is ready. On the other hand, it seemed that Aiden enjoyed his half bath because he had still not yet gone out of the comfort room. I decided to watch some tv series while waiting for Aiden to finish his half bath. After a while, I felt someone sit down beside me. Of course, he is the only one who can sit beside me.
“ Are you crying? “ He asked in wonder while making me face him.
“ I-it i-is n-nothing. It was because of this series I am watching, it is too painful,” I replied while wiping away my tears.
“ Hmm, why? What is that series about?” He asked while shifting his attention to the television.
“ The girl narrated her hopes about the thought of the one because the man she thought would be her, the one who became her the one who got away. The guy was her first love and also first in everything in her life. Then after seven years as a couple, they decided to get married,” I told him, then looked at the TV.
“ And then?” He asked in curiosity because he laid his hand on the table.
“ Then, the day before their wedding, the girl knew that her groom was cheating on her while they were away. The guy had an affair with a woman he met when he was working abroad. The heartbreaking part of it is that the woman got pregnant by her groom. Then, they have no other choice but to end their relationship for the sake of the groom’s unborn child, even if the girl loves the boy so much,” I told him, narrating what I had watched so far.
A few minutes passed, but I did not hear any single reaction from him, so I could not help but look at him. I frowned because of the confusion caused by the way he was acting right now. He stared blankly at the wall.
“ Hey, what are you thinking that led you to stare to the wall blankly?” I asked after gently hitting his shoulder. It seemed like he came back to his senses because of what I did.
“ A-ah, n-nothing. There was something popped up in my mind. Let us eat, I was starving,” Aiden said, stood up, and walked towards the kitchen. I was shrugging my shoulder while following him.
