SABRINA’S POV
The next day, I woke up early because I decided to deep clean my apartment. I did not do it yet these past few days since it was really busy in the office. And since I do not have a working schedule today since Aiden has multiple meetings with their business partners. It was because Aiden needed to go to the business summit tomorrow. Aiden did not let me accompany him today because he said there were a lot of things they would do, and it might cause me fatigue. I did not hesitate to protest about what he said since I had time to clean my apartment and somehow take some rest.
I was preparing something to eat for breakfast when my phone suddenly rang. I turned off the stove first since I had already finished cooking my meal. I put my food on the table before I took my cell phone.
“ Hello? Sir Aiden? “
( What do you mean by sir? You are not in the office.
“ I am sorry. I used to the fact that when you called me, it would be about kinds of stuff about work since we always talked about it.
( Well, somehow, you are not mistaken. I need you to wear something semi-formal for a dinner meeting later. I will just send you the location. )
I was about to ask a question, but he had already ended the call. What did he mean by dinner meeting? I could not remember if he had a dinner meeting today. But maybe he asked one of his business partners to adjust their meeting later tonight. Rather than thinking too much about the reason, I decided to eat. I need to move faster since after I finish cleaning my apartment, I have to go to the mall to find something semi-formal dress.
After more than two hours, I went to the mall. I took much time cleaning my apartment since I was a clean freak. When I entered the mall, I hurriedly went to the boutique, which sells a lot of beautiful dresses. I looked around inside it, and something caught my attention after some time. It is an evening gown with a slit from the legs until my toe. It is a color black gown that is tight-fitting. I am sure it will suit me well since it will show my curve.
I went closer to where the evening gown was and was ready to get it when a pair of hands took it first. I looked to see who owned those hands. When she saw me, she raised her eyebrow.
“ This costs more than the cost of what you are wearing. Stop dreaming of buying this gown.” She arrogantly commented while holding the gown I liked.
“ Oh, really? Is it ironic that you can buy an expensive gown but cannot afford to buy some manners? “ I sarcastically asked her and smirked. I am not the type of person who will quickly back down to people insulting me.
“ How dare you? Do you know who I am?” She asked. It seemed like she was pissed off because of what I said.
“ I am sorry, Miss. But I do not have any intention to get to know you. Your attitude speaks for who you are, “ I arrogantly replied to her. I saw how she turned red. Now, I am sure that she is angry.
“ Hello, is there any problem here?” The sales lady asked. I did not notice that she was here.
“ Yes. As far as I remember, this is an expensive boutique. How come you let a poor girl enter here,” The arrogant woman asked the saleslady after looking at me from head to toe.
“ I am sorry, Ma’am, but there was no such thing posted in the entrance prohibiting poor people from entering the boutiques,” The sales lady politely answered. Her response made me smirk.
“ Ahh, Miss. This boutique’s tagline was you can search everything here, am I right?” I smiled while asking her.
“ Yes, Ma’am.” She politely replied, even though she was confused.
“ Then, where I could buy some manners? I just want to buy some as a present for that girl,” I still smiled while saying those words. It seemed like what I said surprised the sales lady.
“ I am sorry, Ma’am, but the thing you were asking was not available,” The sales lady politely replied, which made me chuckle.
“ Is that so? Oh, Miss, it was not available. Maybe you could come back next time,” I grinned at the arrogant girl who was so red because of anger.
“ You! You did not know who I was and what I was capable of. And you, the sales lady, start looking for another job. Because I am sure, you will no longer be an employee here by tomorrow,” The arrogant girl angrily said while pointing fingers at us.
“ You know why other people thought that rich people are bad? It was because of someone like you, a judgmental. Do not be too proud of being rich because when we all die, we will both buried in the same land. “ I lectured her.
“ Who are you to lectured me? You are nothing, but a poor girl,” She emphasizes.
“ Ma’am, we are wasting our time here. Maybe, you can check our other dresses, rather than talking with that woman that is like a bitter gourd,” I remarked as I looked at the saleslady.
The saleslady slowly nodded before bowing down to that arrogant woman. We left that girl alone and looked at the other boutiques' section. Haist, that arrogant girl stressed me out. Is that how her parents raised her? A judgmental spoiled brat. The sales lady toured me around the semi-formal dresses until my eyes met an off-shoulder baby blue dress shining because of its transparent glitter. I immediately went to that dress and took it. I should move fast before someone might take it away from me again.
“ I am certain that dress will suit you, Ma’am,” the saleslady commented.
“ Really? Do you think so?” I asked while smiling.
“ Of course. You know how to choose clothes,” she stated.
“ Ahh, I finished my fashion designing degree, so I somehow knew how to choose designs for dresses,” I explained.
“ I finished fashion design too. But because of the hardship in life, I could not continue my dream anymore, so I decided to work as a saleslady. I was a breadwinner and tasked to pay for my siblings' education,” she said with a sad face.
“ Do not be too sad. That is the reality of life. Sometimes we are in the down moment, sometimes we are in the high moments. But remember this, time will come that everything will fall into place and we can finally reach our dreams,” I cheered her up.
“ Thank you so much, Miss. You are beautiful and a good person,” She complimented me while smiling.
“ Psh, this girl had time to joke around. Do not worry, I will buy this one, so you will have a commission,” I said while smiling.
“ Thank you again. I need to sell as many dresses as I can today because I am sure I will not have any job tomorrow,” She sadly stated, which made me frown.
“ Why is that? Is it because of what the arrogant girl’s threat earlier?” I asked.
“ Yes. You really do not know her. She is a famous model and the daughter of this boutique’s owner,” She explained, which shocked me.
“ Ohh, I am sorry. You should not help me earlier,” I genuinely apologized, but she shook her head.
“ Do not be. I had enough of her attitude. The way she judge other people, she felt like she was the owner of this world. That is okay, everyone might surrender too if they were in my position,” She explained, but I felt guilty about what she said. I hurriedly searched for a business card in my bag and gave it to her.
“ Here, it is in Canada. They were looking for fashion designer. I tried there too, so maybe you could give it a try. You will not pay anything in processing the requirements since they will be the one to process it. The wage is high and you can do what you really want to do there in case you were hired.” I smiled while explaining it to her. She smiled when she heard what I said.
“ Really? Thank you very much. You are really a kind person. Your boyfriend must be blessed to have you,” She complimented me, which made me smile.
However, my smile faded when I remembered I had to go somewhere. I could not make Aiden wait for me because he would lecture me for sure. That one attitude of Aiden was short-tempered, so I am sure he would scold me when I became late. For him, time is money, and lost time cannot be brought back.
“ Is there a problem?” She asked.
“ Ahh, nothing. I remembered that I have to go somewhere. That is why I am looking for a dress,” I sweetly smiled at her.
“ Is that so? Come on, let us arrange your transaction, so you will not be late to where you will be going,” She said and accompanied me to the cashier.
After I paid for the dress, I said goodbye to the sales lady and left the boutique. I hurriedly went to the jeepney station. When I came home, I took a bath and prepared myself already. I paired black heels, and a jewelry set Aiden gave me with the dress I had brought.
