Each step I took looks like the one to failure, and counting from many I have already taken to the destination where I am already at, there's no hope of me fighting this off, I guess I'm just to accept it all how I see it. My lawyer was at my side, assuring me that he'll get this done, I won't say that I am doubting his confidence, but it's a fact I know, all this is a waste of time, fighting to survive this is of no use because it's only going to pull me farther down than it should.
It was a divorce case, but I wasn't standing at the position I should have, instead of seating across my wives position, I was rather in the counter because after this comes my criminal act case. I was just staring at her, staring at Jessica who wasn't even looking my way, my lawyer trying to save me as much property as he could, but my mistakes were slapping me right to the face, I have already signed most of my assets to my wife, trusting her with most critical things I own, which is really hunting back at my lawyer right now, making him have no thick ground to stand on. 
Bowing my head and turning my mind off from this case, I just let go of my pain, I have been trying to hold them back in but I just can't right now, even if I try to, it's like where I have been storing it all just broke open and now pouring away. Looking up, I saw the way my lawyer was glancing towards me, he just shook his head, confirming that he couldn't do this anymore, I just shut my eyes, trying to accept my fate in, I heard my lawyer continue.
“ So what happens to the kids now, are you to share them between each other?....”
I heard my lawyer ask them, my wife and her own lawyer. I know I can never take them both no matter what, at this point, I am only to get one of them whilst the other would be going the other way, I can't actually request to have them both, but if by the way her lifestyle was and the kind of act she participates in now, she realizes that she can't handle a child, she better hand them over to me, they're both our children, divorce won't make them less of their mother.
“ Which children?..... My client here has no children with your client, he's possibly mistaken or maybe drunk, heard he's still going to face charges against that.....”
The judge hit his gavel on the desk, silencing the opposing lawyer. “ Don't step out of the case again.....” the judge warned Jessica's lawyer as she bowed towards the judge in submission. What does she mean that I had no children with Jessica, didn't Jessica told her that we already have built a family we're training up before this sudden circumstance?.
“ My client here have been married to your client for five years now, they've two kids, Daniel and Marie, I guess she never told you that....” 
My lawyer said, accusing the two women arguing against us, Jessica was actually silent, as well as me, it was our lawyers doing the banter while we just sit, she wasn't even looking this side, but me, I have been looking at her all through this, hoping that I get to understand why she's really doing this to me, not when I already gave her my heart and wanting her to be my family.
“ My client never missed a single information when speaking to me, I guess your client was a Father material after all, he lives in a house where he doesn't know what belongs to him and what doesn't, the both children goes to my client because none of them belongs to your client....”
The gavel was hit on the desk, signalling everyone's attention. “ The divorce papers have been signed, both are no longer husband and wife officially, but for the children, evidence needs to be offered, so from the scenario playing out, court adjourned.....”
The judge sealed his judgement by slamming the gavel on the desk as always, as he stood, we all stood too and waited until he lives. My parents were present for the hearing and confirmation, both of them approached me immediately the judge left, the look on their faces showing nothing but care and love towards their only child, me.
“ I'll make sure to look into this Jerome, I wasn't expecting this to turn out this way, I'll go all length to prove your children are yours, I believe Jessica is intentionally doing this to strip you everything you posses, but for now, we've to start preparing for the next case and looking from it, we're definitely getting it tough this time. This is a confirmed case that you're guilty, so my job this time is to argue your innocence that it was a mistake, an accident, there's definitely going to be penalty for it, what I am trying to do here is shorten the penalty.... I just hope you were telling the truth about you not being drunk during that incident?....”
I just nodded my head, assuring him that it's nothing but the truth, I wasn't drunk that night, I was just depressed, and that depression led me into that mess, now my goal is to clean up the mess and plead for my mistakes.
“ Don't worry Jerome, I believe you in this, just that they did have some proofs to lock their hands on, I just hope that your past doesn't mess this up because I can remember back in school, Your alcoholic addiction is really going to be a setback, and the outfit you were putting on, as well as your look then, it all goes against us, I just hope we stall as much as possible.....”
