I was almost done to leave for my quest today, she said she will be here before I know it, Yes, she agreed to spend today with me so we can use it to catch up the losts years, but she's not here yet, no phone call, message or even knocks on the door.
It's almost eight in the morning and I know that wasting anymore minutes will have an effect on my duties today, guess I will have to go then without her. Stepping out of the elevator after it has gone down, I received a notification on my phone signalling that she's here. Is she upstairs right from where I came down from right now?, I was about to call her phone when I saw her stepping out of the cab and paying the cab driver, no need to make the call again when she's already standing outside, I just made my way out. Turning around, she was taken away seeing that I was already standing behind her, “ Oh.... You scared me, I didn't know you were down here already ”, she said, she wasn't looking straight down now, I can see that she's putting in an effort to hide her clumsiness from me, trying to put on a confident face, but turns out that I am still the Jones Williams who knew her right from childhood, she doesn't have to put in all the work to act strong when she's standing in front of the guy she always had that unexplainable feelings for. All I did was hold her hand and she was automatically sent back to square one, she brought her face down looking at the floor pretending to be checking out something at her feet, I just smiled knowing how uncomfortable she was, I was never going to ask her if she's nervous because I know she was and asking her will kill any remaining courage she has left.
My car was driven towards us as it stops right before us and the attendant coming out, handing over the keys. I took them from him, opened the car door as she walks in, I went around the car and went in sitting on my driver seat before driving away.
“ You said you knew the particular building David lives in now?....”, I asked Jackie. She nodded her head and then replying, “ Yes... He lives with his mom, I informed Uncle Dale about David's whereabouts when I saw him and his mom when we went for a News coverage at that area, I happened to return there later to check up on him and then did I found out where exactly they lived ”, she finished. Great I made my mind to go with her, I no longer have to go around asking for directions and his whereabouts.
It was quite a long staircase walk, I wasn't tired or gassed out, it was an eighth story building and I can see the struggle and heavy eyes which Jackie used in completing the climb, she was in good physique but I can tell that with her hills, she was kind of using more energy than required.
I knocked on the door when we stood before the door, I was putting on a cap and an eye glass incase any of my new fan finds me, that's the work you've to put in when it concerns fame or a wanted status, LoL.
The door was opened and there before me was standing a woman, a woman I never saw, not even her picture when I was living with Uncle Dale, but with those eyes, I knew she was David's mother, they had the same looks in the eyes, but any other thing came from Uncle Dale because David and Uncle Dale looks alike except the eyes.
“ Hello Ma'am, I'm ......”, “ Jones.... I know who you're, I have seen your pictures with my son and also your current popularity in acting movies ”, she said, still blocking the entrance with her body as if she doesn't want us to look in or even to come in. I already took of the cap and eyeglasses, it's quite disrespectful to hide myself when standing before my elders. I don't know whether I should ask to come in or just tell her that I am here for David.
“ You can come in...”, she said, standing out of the way for us to walk in. Are we at the wrong place or what?, How come are they living like this?, I really feel quite stuffed up in here, I thought uncle Dale said that his property was divided and half were given to her, and I also heard she went on to marry another man, so how come?.
David came out from the bathroom cleaning himself, from distance away, the face resembled David, but as he gets closer, I wasn't seeing anything like David in him, did this woman gave birth to someone else?, I'm not trying to be rude, but I never knew David had a brother that looks quite like him, but this one is big, big tummy, large necks and cheeks, much like he was overweight, or obsessed if I can use the word.
“ Jones?.... Is that you?....”, the big young man asked, the expression on his face lightening up as if he was shocked or surprised to see me. I looked at Jackie for any confirmation but she looked away, as well as David's mom, she was looking at the other way towards the window.
Looking back at the young man before me, he was now standing before me, I was still about to speak when he hugged me tight, “ I... I really missed you brother, how have you been?”, he asked me, looking happy to see me. I was lost of words, like I really can't believe my eyes.
