Chapter Thirty-Nine: Be With You

"And what did your best friend say, Emilie?" Lara eagerly waited for her eldest daughter to answer.
"Well, I'm sure that she accepted the proposal." Emilie answered in return.
"Andrew and Claire are a perfect match to each other. I'm sure they will go along well as a couple." Jayden joined in the conversation.
"You know what guys, it's definitely okay and normal to be in a relationship at your age. But you have to be sure that you'll be responsible, and don't do things that you will regret in the future." Emmett gave the teenagers a piece of advice.
"That's right! Being in love can be an inspiration when it comes to your studies and reaching your goals." Lara nodded in agreement.
All of the teenagers nodded as well, as they perfectly understand what are they trying to point out.
They continued having dinner, while talking about what to do during their school semestral break...
==============================
Once Andrew arrives home, he immediately went straight to his room, sat on his study table and stared unto the space. His mind instantly rewinds the things that happened after his public love confession to Claire...
He didn't wait too long at the school gym. And he feels like walking in the air when Claire agrees to be his girlfriend, and they are going to have their very first date as a couple during the fireworks festival display which will happen next week!
He started pinching his cheeks just to make sure that he's not daydreaming. When he finally feels the pain, he started dancing like crazy inside his room.
"YES!" Andrew happily shouted.
=======================
One week have passed.
The day of the fireworks festival display finally arrives.
"Aren't you done yet?" Emilie complained, as she'd getting a bit tired sitting infront of the mirror.
Her sister Emilia is styling her hair in a fashionable way, as they are getting ready to head out.
Emilie, Emilia and Emma are going to watch the fireworks, along with Jayden, and the new couple, Andrew and Claire.
"Just stay still if you want me to finish!" Emilia reprimanded her.
"--Girls, what's taking you so long?" the three of them heard their mother calling them downstairs.
"Just a few seconds, Mommy!" Emma responded.
After few agonizing minutes...
"There. It's done." Emilia finally said, while giving out a big smile.
"Thanks a lot, twinnie!" Emilie thanks her sister, while looking satisfied with her look.
"Hey girls, we better get going." Emma reminded them.
"You're right, Emma." I nodded in return.
The three of them descended from the stairs.
At the same time, their mother is watching them, and she looks obviously proud.
"You girls are lovely. You really are my daughters. Enjoy the fireworks festival. And by the way Jayden, I'll leave them to you, okay?" Lara told Jayden.
But Jayden wasn't able to answer because he was looking at Emilie.
"Jayden, are you alright, dear?" Lara asked again.
Jayden snaps out, while looking a bit embarrassed.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Auntie Lara. Don't worry, I'll be their bodyguard tonight. And we'll me home at exactly 10 pm." Jayden reassures Aunt Lara.
Emilia and Emma started giggling while giving knowing looks towards Jayden and Emilie.
"We'd better hurry. There will be a big crowd, and we should be at the front seats!" Emilie started to divert the topic.
"Oh, right. We'll be going now, Mommy!" Emma finally said goodbye.
"Have fun, girls!" their mother smilingly told them.
All of them are finally making their way towards the festival venue, where they are also going to meet Andrew and Claire there, hoping they could create wonderful memories together...
Emilie, Jayden, Emilia and Emilie finally reached the Fireworks Display Event venue.
"Over here, guys!"
They all smiled when they saw Andrew waving at their direction. Just like what they expected, Andrew and Claire are together, and they are holding hands with each other.
"Did you guys wait too long?" Jayden smilingly asks the couple.
"Oh no, not at all! Actually, you all just came at the right time. We are all a bit early, and there are front seats available for us. We should go there now." Claire suggested.
"Great! At least we're going to be comfortable watching the fireworks display!" Emilie happily said.
"You're right, I'm sure we're going to enjoy the festival." Jayden nodded in return.
"Wait, why do I have this feeling that Emma and I are being the third wheels in this group?" Emilia suddenly commented.
"I can feel it too! Do you think it's better if we leave you guys alone?" Emma jokingly asked.
"What nonsense are you talking about? We all agreed that we will go to the festival as a group!" Emilie said, while looking defensive.
Emilia and Emma didn't say anything else, but they started giggling as if they have a secret or something.
"We should go, everyone. There are more people coming in, so we should go to our seats." Jayden suddenly suggested.
The group is now making their way to the festival main venue...
=========================
After a few hours.
"So, what shall we do first? Shall we start looking for some snacks? There are many delicious-looking food at each stalls!" Emma excitedly asks her companions, as they are walking at a certain place where many food stalls were set up, especially for their town's festival.
While the others were busy looking at the food stalls, Jayden suddenly pulls Emilie away from the group.
"Wait, what are you doing?" Emilie asks Jayden, in a confused manner.
"Just come with me..."
They just continued on walking, until they reached a place where there isn't much people.
"What's going on, Jayden?" Emilie asks him again.
"I also talked about this to Emilia and Emma, and they're about to do the same thing as well. You see, Andrew and Claire are a new couple, and they need some time alone. We're just on their way." Jayden told her about his plan.
"Oh, now I get it!" Emilie answered, while nodding approvingly.
"Right. While the new couple are busy looking at food stalls, maybe we should go and try some games at the carnival?" Jayden smilingly suggested.
"That's a great idea!" Emilie readily replied.
"Let's go then!"
Jayden and Emilie excitedly walks their way towards the colorful and exciting carnival nearby...
==========================
Jayden and Emilie are exploring the other game stalls at the festival, when they suddenly heard excited voices, just a few walks away.
"I wonder what's going on there?" Emilie wondered aloud.
"Let's go there and find out." said Jayden.
Once they were able to get closer to that stall, they saw many people who are cheering happily.
As they squeeze themselves through the crowd, they saw one guy who was holding a toy gun and he was aiming it towards the lined target.
The people are cheering for him.
The guy tried shooting the targets, but he's not successful. After a few more tries, he finally gave up.
"Would you like to try it, Jayden?" Emilie suddenly urges him to try the shooting game.
"Sure, why not?" Jayden readily agrees.
After paying for a fee, the stall owner gave him a toy gun, while giving him last-minute instructions.
Jayden tried firing the toy gun towards the targets, but he just can't hit any of them. He groans inwardly, and he's getting more and more embarrassed because Emilie is watching him...
"Just take your time, Jayden. I know you can do it!" Emilie cheered, while standing beside him.
"Thanks, Em." Jayden smilingly thanks Emilie.
He's feeling more confident now, after Emilie showed her support to him.
He concentrated on his next target, but this time he is not in a rush. He took his sweet time trying to focus on the target, and once he is ready, he decided to take the shot.
His smile grew bigger when he realized that he finally hit the target!
"Congratulations, kids! Here's your prize." the stall owner smilingly congratulated them, while giving a large-sized teddy bear towards Emilie.
"Wow, this is so cute! Thank you, Jayden!"  Emilie gushes, while hugging the brown teddy bear.
"You're very much welcome, Em." responded Jayden, while looking at Emilie.
He is so glad and relieved that he was able to make Emilie happy on this special night...
