Chapter 33

‘Is this really the end?’
Byul had just released the thought in his mind when he immediately opened his eyes in surprise. Byul gasped, he really thought he was going to die. The pain still haven’t subsided but he could feel his body being squeezed by a foreign object. In the next second, Byul turned his head and instantly froze. This time, the shock was too big that he immediately went stiff.
The fear in his heart slowly left his guts and now all the feeling that is left was a total confusion. Byul blinked his eyes slowly thinking that this might be a dream. After all, he wouldn’t even see this bastard in reality but unfortunately his sleeping face was really just next to him.
Byul tried to moved his face away but all the strength in his body was lost and he couldn’t even lift a finger. Byul sighed and just gave up the idea of pushing him off. He was curious though, how did he found himself next to him the moment he woke up? Did he save him from the chaos? This question, it was simply buried at the back of his mind.
Byul opened his mouth trying to voice out a word but no sound came out. His throat was parched and judging by the recent struggle, he’s really lucky to be alive. With a heavy heart, Byul felt powerless. The fear in his heart slowly crept within. When he recall the moment where he’s being bitten everywhere and barely survived the abuse, his whole body start to tremble again.
Stanley wrinkled his brow, he felt a small vibration next to his. After realizing that he was with someone else, Stanley abruptly opened his eyes and saw Byul limping next to him.
He hurriedly wrapped him up in his arms thinking that the person was cold but as the thought crossed his mind, he was instantly blown off by a punch. Stanley jolted a bit hearing a bone broke as the offender immediately clutch his fist and curled up on the ground.
Byul regretted his act and instantly bawled his eyes out. It f*cking hurts! When did this bastard’s flesh turned to stone?! The very question lingered in his brain. Since his very being is weak, he didn’t realize that he crack a few bones again. Byul attempted to stand up but all he could do was sit limply on the ground while he stared powerless at the person in front of him.
Stanley just sighed and went beside him. Without a thought, he picked him up and carried him in an embarrassing pose. Byul turned red, his face was suddenly hot! He’s not some bride! His guts turned and as the calm face glanced at his.
Byul felt angry in his attitude. “What are you doing? Put me down this instanht!” He roared as the end sentence was cut off with an awkward sound. Stanley just spare him a glance and said.
“There’s a lot of them nearby. You bled a lot last night, the smell of blood probably led them here.” Stanley calmly explained. He could smell the nauseating scent even from a hundred meters away. Judging by the strong smell, they probably crossed the bridge by now. Stanley felt his inside turning up.
As the suffocating feeling twisted his guts. Stanley squeezed the person in his arms. Byul was slightly surprise by his action but he didn’t moved an inch. He just let him sniff his body…
The sniffing continued for a while and as it goes on Byul eventually felt uncomfortable. He slightly pushed away the sneaky hand who anonymously slithered inside his clothes. Byul felt his cheeks burning as the most embarrassing moment in his life unfold before him.
Stanley knot his forehead seemingly unsatisfied. With his hand already inside his clothes, he could sense the sudden release of his scent. The sweet smell lingered in his nose for a while as the disgusting odor finally left his system.
Byul felt all his strength left his body. The embarrassing moment really drained his remaining energy. He really wondered why this freak decided to snuff him to death.
After some time, the two reached the sea. It was the end of the factory buildings. Byul heard a loud click of a tongue and instantly avert his eyes to Stanley who was simply staring back at him in great seriousness.
“What..?”
The idiot almost stuttered in his breath. He never saw him like this before and Stanley’s behavior suddenly become strange. Is it an effect of the drug? Is he seeing things differently than before? Byul wondered for a while as he slowly avert his gaze away.
“What happened to you?”
Stanley finally asked him in great seriousness. Every bit of his expression demands a whole explanation. It was a simple question yet Byul can’t seem to squeezed out an answer. His mouth hanged awkwardly in the air for a while and after thinking for a bit. He really don’t know what to say.
Stanley just heaved a sigh. It’s probably something he don’t want to tell him and he really don’t give a damn but somehow he felt frustrated. What is it that it was too hard to say? He really want to gauge the answer out of him.
Byul was silent for a while. His eyes stared at the sea for a long time. After giving it some thought, he finally opened his mouth in a daze. “I thought I was strong enough but I’m not…”
“I seriously overestimated myself.”
“I told you I’ll go with you.” Stanley replied in a blunt voice.
Byul was silent for a moment. He couldn’t refute that but thinking he’ll be next to this bastard, he simply couldn’t imagine it and yet…
Here he is, cuddling with him under the sunrise as the two of them admire the sea. It was unexpected and he couldn’t run away in his grip but as soon as he realized it, he was already talking with him with no feeling of repulsion at all. It’s as if all the hating and disgust went away in this very moment.
And he couldn’t help but feel scared. He don’t want to feel that way ever again but look at him, completely under his spell. Byul sighed apathetically. It was his fault. At the very least, this jerk still deserve an apology.
“I’m sorry.”
Byul whispered next to him. It was not enough but still he felt the need to apologize and his apology was the only thing Stanley wanted to hear. After the two had their feelings sorted out. Stanley took a moment to think and finally said to him: “We only got an hour until they reached us here. We can either cross the sea or confront them here. What do you say?”
Byul was spaced out for a while. He recalled that his own army was still on that old building. If he called them out, it would probably take a while so the only thing that can be done is to released them from his control and wait for the cool down to use the skill again.
The cool down was two hours so they have an hour to defend themselves but because of his current condition, he would probably drag Stanley behind. At worst, he could be served in a silver platter before he even activated his skill. Even so, he still want to take the risk…
“How long can you hold out on your own?”
Byul curiously asked Stanley. The truth still haven’t cross his mind but Stanley is powerful isn’t he? Though, he still don’t quite understand his ability, having a strong fighter by his side is enough.
“Probably around fifteen minutes.” Stanley answered thoughtfully. He rarely uses his skill and he don’t know the exact duration and cool down but when he was still in his sense, he estimated it was quite over ten minutes before he finally gone berserk. Even if he didn’t use it, a strong surge of emotion always triggered the skill so he barely remember using it properly anyways. Even so, it really didn’t matter so long he finished the job in a flash.
With that assurance, Byul was satisfied and in a sweet smile he said: “That’s good enough.”
