Having heard the mechanical beep. Stanley quickly dart his attention to his system screen. He was silent for a while. The sense of urgency he felt just had been extinguished but once again it reared his heart again. It wasn’t that long when he contemplated to check his system screen. In fact, he really don’t want to check it out anymore but because the situation was urgent he didn’t hesitate to tap the skill section. Just as he heard before, he unlocked a new skill. Stanley browsed his system screen for a while, tapping impatiently on his skill section and soon he finally found the new skill interface: Master’s Bond..? ‘A rare skill that meant to increase your own ability when you are bound to another person’s ability. It can be use to exchange or share your ability with another person. Binds your souls as one in a short period of time. It can only be used once.’ Stanley was silent for a while. [Would you like to use this skill? Y/N] A system message popped up on his screen. Considering the whole situation, Stanley was then filled with doubt. If he used this skill then he would be stuck with him forever and he doubt that Byul would accept that. After all, this guy never wanted to involved himself with him. Stanley sighed. The situation is dire and he’s still contemplating. If only this was some sort of computer game. He wouldn’t think this hard but… What to do? His body was slowly turning cold and his breath is already faint. He can no longer sense a hint of life from him. Stanley grind his teeth hard. He never thought he would go this far to think when earlier he was thinking of leaving his corpse behind. If he hadn’t… If he hadn’t opened the bag… Will he be in such a situation like now? Stanley can’t even laugh. This whole situation is hilarious. If he didn’t open the bag, he would hear a news that one of them died. And in the end he’ll probably be the one to blame since they would definitely point their fingers at him and condemned him for his horrible deed. Though he wouldn’t care much about that. The problem is, the fact that he found himself in this situation and was unable to think of the best course of action. He’s not the kind of person who’s willing to save anyone but this person, his existence just bother his heart too much… His thoughts were a mess. Stanley heaved another sigh and just stared at the frail body in his arms. He’s no saint but anyway. It won’t hurt to save him once right? He could just compensate him when he’s back. And at that time, he would definitely squeeze him dry… With that, Stanley made up his mind and pressed the screen. [Skill: Master’s Bond activated! You’ve gain a new skill! Soul’s Pact(special) +10 Ability points Congratulations! You’ve gained Master’s Trust Level 1!] Stanley just ignored the screen as he waited for the skill to take effect. It hasn’t been long when he sensed the person in his arms moved a bit. Byul shifted in his position as the wrinkling brows slowly relaxed. His face also seems to calmed down a bit as the pale complexion seems to brighten again. After sensing his breathing steadied, Stanley finally sighed in relief. At the same time, Winston’s group decided to went on the streets. The three people cautiously walked around with a gun in their pockets. This once lively street was now filled with scenes of desolation, damaged infrastructures can be seen everywhere and the nauseating odor permeated the air. The students tensed, sensing a small movement on the rubbles they’re walking in. Winston just raised his brow and took hold of his gun as he pointed towards the rubbles on the side. The sound was faint but the odor was strong so he never hesitated to shoot the thing under the pile of rocks. After a while, Winston quickly signaled the two to retreat. As soon as the three backed off, the zombies hiding beneath the rubbles resurfaced and started attacking them. Side by side, the trio decided to shoot as the pistol in their hands fired consecutive shots at the zombies. It was that moment, they didn’t realize they were already firing the guns with no regards. When they found an opening, Winston halted and signaled the two to run. The two quickly turned away and run off. Winston calmly withdraw his hand and followed them. After a while, the trio found themselves in the middle of the road. The city wasn’t bright and the street lights were dim, only showing a faint complexion of the road. The night was still long but the three people were already exhausted. All that running led them in the silent avenue. It was completely quiet and at the corner Winston spotted a man who was busy enjoying his meal with a bloody mouth. After that, he heard a loud bang and the man already fell on the ground with his brains splattered everywhere. The trio immediately turned their head to the direction of the sound. A man in a suit just happened to passed by and soon after he landed his shot he quickly left. Winston was unfazed by this, only wondering where should they rest for the night. The student surveyed the place and managed to spied a cellphone on the corpse pocket. With the small light on the phone screen, Harry look at the time and it was 19:25. After deducing the time until sunrise, the trio decided to lodge in the nearby building. Harry turned on the flashlight and led them to the stairs. After the three finished climbing the stairs, Winston immediately secured a room and soon the three people went inside. After barricading the door, the three finally heaved a sigh of relief. “Tomorrow, let’s head to the underground camp. I’m sure they can guarantee your safety there.” Winston proposed to them which the three simply agreed on. With the day finally ends, the three decided to rest.
