En route, Byul picked up Stanley and the two of them drove all the way to the city square. Since they more or less already combed the outskirts of the region, the next goal is to confront the city. The two of them was traveled silently and on the way, Byul collected a few number of corpse lying around. He didn’t fully used his skill but he scattered the zombies to act as the lookout. Even if they’re killed again, at least they had some kind of use to him. In the previous world, he didn’t think of this because it wasn’t that convenient to use corpse and have them walked all over the street. If he did it then maybe it would be a part of history haha. Since the search matter was resolved, Byul wanted to find some weapons for him to use. It wasn’t that weird to seek some protection with his ability but because it was a very troublesome ability, he had no choice but to be extra careful with himself. After all, he don’t want to be helpless in a dangerous situation again. After agonizing about this issue, Byul took a meaningful glance at Stanley. If one of them became a zombie or if Stanley becomes one, will he be able to control him along with his abilities? Byul carefully thought about this and reserved the idea in his mind for future opportunities. Wetting his lips, Byul turned to Stanley and maliciously said: “If you got bitten, you won’t die but be brain-dead right?” Stanley, after hearing his question become speechless and slightly stunned. Somehow when he heard his words, he felt a cold shiver crawled up his spine. Just what is this idiot thinking about? It is true that becoming a zombie would make someone undead but he know for a fact, that he won’t end up like that. So in great confidence, Stanley answered: “Yeah” Byul was in a slight smile. He then avert his gaze back to the road and decided to go inside the building. They’re already in the middle of finding weapons so he thought maybe, in some apartment unit, they will have knifes in the kitchen. Though that was such an absurd thought, Byul still wanted to give it a go. When Stanley saw him went inside, he also followed. After the two of them were together, Byul pressed the elevator button and went up. He really don’t mind Stanley tagging along anymore. He just felt slightly uneasy when he’s alone with him. Like this now, he couldn’t help but feel awkward. This days, Stanley shut his mouth for good. He didn’t mock or made fun of him that much anymore and the sudden change of behavior makes him feel a bit weird inside. Ting! The elevator stopped at the second floor. The two of them stepped out and as if in a tacit agreement, they went to open one of the rooms. Since there are no keys, Byul intended to bust the doorknob open but Stanley already went ahead to unlock the door with a paperclip and after a few seconds, he already opened it. Byul clicked his tongue in irritation. He really felt belittled by this jerk. After a moment, Byul made his way in and rummaged through the apartment. The place was almost empty, only few furniture inside and all in all, it was just a wide amount of space. Byul scrunched his shoulder and just went towards the kitchen to secure his goal. After opening the cabinets, he found only few utensils, mostly for, and since there’s really nothing else. Byul sighed regretfully. “There’s nothing here. Let’s leave.” Stanley simply went out and opened the next door and after a couple of minutes. The two of them didn’t secure anything. With a heavy heart, Byul massage his head then took the elevator and pressed the highest floor. Stanley stared at Byul for a moment, he more or less understood what he’s aiming for. In a calm deep voice, he proposed: “We could just take some from the military…” “They’re untrustworthy and if we get involved with them. We’ll be better off dead. You know how it works.” Byul bluntly refused in his heart. He doesn’t want to depend on the government and especially the military after all they’re the ones who created this mess. He knew for a fact that the existence of the said drug could be a part of the military experiment..? Byul felt silent for a moment. Having realized it just now, he was very amused by himself. When the elevator opened, Byul pressed the button leading to the ground floor. “On second thought, let’s go there.” Stanley just smiled faintly, feeling pleased with himself. He thought that Byul may not realize but he was slightly surprise to know he was smart enough. After the two of them left the building, Byul hopped on the car and called shotgun. He then closed the door and didn’t bother himself to say a word. Stanley just stared at him for a moment and listlessly took the driver seat. Since he was permitting him to drive then it means he’s the one to choose the place. Byul just fixated his gaze on the window as if to agree. That attitude lift the corners of his mouth. Stanley started the car without much thought and start to drive off. Between the two of them there’s really no words needed and he would completely understand. After all, he already knew Byul from the inside and out. On the way to the military camp. Byul fell asleep in the Hummer and anonymously got moved at the backseat. When he woke up he didn’t complain and in fact he was thankful he got a full rest, he looked at the window and realized they’re already driving deep into the mountains. Stanley was slowly driving, not letting the speed go over a hundred. He glanced at the rearview mirror to check on him for a bit and seeing that he already woke up. He finally drove in a high speed. Byul was quite stunned by this. Is he driving slowly so I could sleep more comfortably? Thinking this way somehow gave a weird itch in his heart. He clenched his fist and just focused his attention on the window as he loudly berate his heartbeat in his mind. When they finally reached the remote area in the mountains. Stanley stopped the car and stepped out. There was a large base ahead and the fence was surrounded with electric wires. Byul raised his brow and stared at Stanley for a moment. He don’t have any idea about how he managed to find it when he’s asleep. But since they’re already here. He no longer want to ask. In fact Stanley was very familiar with the place because when he patrol around those shady neighborhood, he managed to spied a laptop with military files and the camp locations were vividly shown. Though he really don’t get why such laptop is blatantly hanging around… The two of them finally approached the gate. The soldiers guarding it only gave them a side eye and as if they’re some sort of air, Byul and Stanley was ignored. Byul was about to say something when Stanley halted him. The jerk wag his forefinger and signaled a secret code to the soldiers. Byul raised his brow seeing him waving his hand in a weird manner. Seeing a familiar coding, the soldiers doubtfully look at the two people in casual clothes. However, the code was secretly taught inside and only soldiers stationed in secret facilities could recognized them. After a few minutes, the soldiers finally opened the gate for them. Stanley glanced at him and just nod leaving Byul completely stunned. ‘Hey? What the f*ck did you just do?’ He was genuinely curious but since it would seemed weird that he don’t know, he kept quiet in fear of being left out.
