"Any details about the field trip?" I asked him while we are walking on the hallway towards the science lab.
"We'll stay there for 3 days, I think it's near the beach since we'll be studying about the things found around the sea. This is also a survival activity so our coordinators won't let us bring anything that is unecessary except for our phones" he said.
"That means no tents or stuffs?" I asked.
"There are tents but we need to catch our own food and set our own campfire to survive, other supplies that we'll need should be provided, especially first aid" he added then I realize something.
"Are you the one who suggested the collab field trip?" I asked him, he looked at me and stopped walking, I felt my stomach turned upside down before I avoided his gaze.
"No, it was Death, he said that everyone will be having a hard time to study for the examinations if the two field trips are scheduled closely, so he thought of a solution to end our stressful month" he said, I nodded.
That was so thoughful of him, this is the first time he got concern to his classmates.
"That's so thoughtful, I guess James also agreed to this immediately" I assumed, he chuckled then nod his head as we continue to walk towards the lab.
When we got there, we arranged our final report and discussed the information we gathered. Icer isn't rank 2nd for nothing, he' s smart in terms of making instant speeches, no wonder he is the elected leader of the 4th Cards.
I stared at him from head to toe, what a handsome devil, too bad that he's dangerous for my health, I watched how he pushed his eyeglasses on his nose because it was sliding down, his perfume smell so manly and it's comfortable to inhale.
Plus he has a little mole below his right eye, maybe that's his point of charm, his figure is quite slender unlike Ace- well Ace is playing basketball so his biceps are quite of a big deal too- focus Tine! What are you thinking?!
"Done memorizing my face Belfour? You can take a picture if you like, I wouldn't mind if you ask" he suddenly spoke catching me off guard.
He then lifted his gaze from the papers to my eyes, I gulped a large ammount of saliva as I felt my face heated up, my hand immediately landed on my cheeks to hide my blush, his eyes are so beautiful to look at- I blinked twice and look away, he chuckled.
"Y-you wish tsk" I stummered, aish Tine! You're so stupid sometimes, he smirked and pulled his chair close to mine.
He then leaned over, hovering my chair so I couldn't escape, I leaned over my seat as our face are just inches away from each other and I can smell his minty breath making my face bright red.
"W-what are y-you doing?" I asked him and tried to push him away but he caught my hands without too much effort.
"Memorizing your face, it would be unfair if I let you stare at me and you won't allow me to do the same to you" he grinned, I gasp when his fingers traced the side of my forehead, to my jaw up to my slightly parted lips.
"Nevermind, he'll probably get jealous" he mumbled while smirking before leaning back on his chair and adjusted it back to its place earlier.
Confussion filled my face, what did he say? I didn't hear it clearly tho. A part of my body was disappointed for the sudden lost of contact of his fingers on my skin but half of it was scolding myself that I look so stup*d, I sighed and went back on doing my work.
"... This is the last part that I gave you right?" I asked while pointing at the paper I was holding.
"Yeah, I'm also done with the rest" he arranged the papers and took the last piece from me.
"It's already late huh, look's like I won't have dinner today" I sighed while looking at my watch.
"Let's have dinner together then" he suggested then boom, I'm all red once again.
"U-uh, no thanks ,r-really, I'll just have some ramen for dinner. Thanks for the invitation" I smiled warmly, he smiled back and nodded.
"So, I'll see you tomorrow then?" He said.
"Yeah, see you. Good night Ice" I said and hurriedly walked towards the door with my things.
"Right, good night. Cursetine" he said, I stopped for a bit and smiled to myself before walking out the lab.
Oh my gosh, he called me by my first name again, and that sound so hot- Eeiihhh!! I think I'm feeling sick by just hearing him calling me by my first name.
My feet are itching that made me ran all the way from the main building to our dormitory. When I reached my room, I saw Annie doing her homework, we greeted each other before placing my bag on my desk first before taking a bath and changed into my pajamas.
Days passed by so quickly and I am so stress, thankfully I have friends who would cheer me up everyday, tomorrow is the field trip, I kept telling Loraine to take care of Annie while I pack up my things.
I only brought one not-so-big backpack, inside it is my clothes, undergarments, some toiletries, pads, flashlight, pens, notepads, matchstick, umbrella, conforter, first aid kit, medicines, snacks, whistle- just in case if I get lost, sunscreen, tumbler, multi-purpose knife and jacket.
Since that day, Icer has been sticking to me lately and I would notice Ace's strange aura starting to form and Sam on the other hand is breaking awkwardness whenever she sees me with Icer, I frowned mentally and stabbed the pork on my plate.
"Hey! What's wrong with you?" Sam exclaimed.
"I'm stress, I want to order some champaigne" I scoffed.
"You can't survive the day if your drinking that today" Liz pointed out and she's right, I don't really have a high tolerance on alcohol.
"Annie what's the real score between you and Pierce anyways?" Loraine asked her.
"Enemies" she shortly answered, I frowned, yeah right they are always fighting lately.
"When is your field trip held?" I asked Loraine to change the subject, it looks like Annie doesn't want to talk about her and Pierce.
"A week before the review week, it's quite stressful actually" she answered and Annie nodded.
"Guess we won't be seeing each other again til the examinations end" Liz muttered sadly.
"You're still not used to it? That's been happening for the past 4 years" Sam argued.
"It's not that I'm not used to it, I just found the whole time boring when you guys are not around, I would have rather sleep than study" Liz yawned, I sighed.
"Work hard will you? You said that you'll beat Troy out of the 3rd rank" I complied then she glared at me.
"Stop reminding me" she complained.
"How about you and Icer?" Sam asked me, she was smiling but of course it was fake, I've known her for years and I know what's inside her head.
"Partners. Why are you always awkward towards me and him hanging out? Do you like him? Just say so and I'll avoid him for you" I groaned then she chuckled.
"Me? Like him? Who would like that guy?" She sarcasly said I rolled my eyes.
"You act so awkward because you can't get mad at me since I'm your best friend so instead of pushing me away from him, you chose to stay silent and act up" I confessed, she remained silent while the three has their jaw dropped.
"Come on Sam, I'm not holding the top rank for four years if I can't notice these little things, I don't like him either nor I hate him, he treats me like his little sister so I also treat him as my older brother, nothing more, nothing less" I poked her forehead making her frown.
"Your too mean to do that" she scoffed I giggled.
"Come on let's hurry up and head to class" I smiled.
After finishing breakfast, we walked towards the main building for our classes. It was still a bit early so I talked to James about some things on the field trip but Icer suddenly butted in our conversation.
"Yeah we're experimenting the sea it's a great solution actually" I nodded.
"Why do you say so?" James asked.
"So I can drown the both of you, you've been giving me a hard time to keep up my grades yet the both of you are showing off" I glared at them.
"Awe, you're giving up already? Sheez I thought it was a nice game" Icer muttered while holding his chin.
"It's quite a problem since Death is also keeping up with his grades with no pressure, unlike the other one there" James avoided my burning gaze, I sighed and smack their heads with a folder.
"Yeah keep doing that and I'll diffinately drown you two" I pouted and shifted to my seat.
"That was harsh, should I help you drown them?" Sam nudged me.
"That's great to hear" I cheered.
After classes, I walked towards the library to fetch a few files with Sam and James, the two was literally pissing each other and I paid no attention to it because I'm looking forward to the hidden letter.
It's been a long time and there's still no reply but I hope I could find one today, while the two are busy printing some copies for our handouts, I volunteered to get the said files which was on the librarian's desk.
"Good morning ma'am, I'm Cursetine Belfour from Crimson 4-A and I would like to ask for the copies of mr. Oliveros' worksheets" I said politely.
"Okay, just wait here for a moment" she said and left her desk, I fiddled with my fingers and skipped towards the bookshelf.
I look for the book and found it on the lower shelf, huh he did played with me, he always hide the book on different places but on the same bookshelf. I flipped through the pages and found the letter, a smile unconciously formed on my lips when I saw his reply.
'Why do you keep replying on my messages?' he wrote.
'Nothing much, you seem to be nice at some point' I wrote down as my reply and hurriedly folded it back inside the book before returning it on the bookshelf.
I casually walked out of the area and made sure that I'm secured, I stood infront of the desk as if nothing happened until the librarian returned with a thick pile of papers on her hands.
"Here you go" she handed me the papers and I bowed.
"Thank you!" I smiled before walking back to where I left the two.
I found them finishing up the handouts so I help them on arranging the pages before we head out and return to our classroom.
It's already lunch time yet here we are, getting all busy preparing our handouts for the fieldtrip, Ace is also writing a few things on the board and some of our classmates are listening to him.
"Then we have no problem! Let's finish the activities as early as possible so we can enjoy the beach before going back here" one of them exclaimed, and they cheered.
Ace sighed and turn to me, I rolled my eyes before walking up to him to put the worksheets on the table.
"I have 48 copies, so let's have 2 copies each" I told him.
"How about the handouts?" He asked.
"Sam and James have them" I answered and look over the board.
"What's that?" I asked.
"A few games everyone voted so the whole activity won't be boring" he complied while looking at the worksheets.
"We'll have Liz and Icer lead the whole thing so no one gets left behind" he added.
"Liz? Wasn't she sleeping all this time?" I look back and saw her sleeping deeply on her desk.
"She's answering earlier, right Liz?" He called and Liz's head nodded.
"Psh, I'll distribute them hurry up" I told him.
"Go have your lunch, I'll distribute it" he answered, I shrugged and went back on my seat to have some sandwhich and milk as my lunch.
Everyone is excited about the fieldtrip this year, no wonder because I'm excited too, Ace was the one who planned all of this and he really did a lot of effort to make everyone participate on this.
I agree that we don't get along but he's really doing his best now and I'm really happy about it, I look over his direction and he was now talking to his friends, I looked out the window and smiled.
I opened it and a strong wind blew causing all of the handouts on top of our desk to fly up in the air, but instead of getting mad at me everyone smiled while looking how the papers fall down the floor.
"Hey guys, how about throwing our papers in the air when graduation comes?" James asked, well he's the president.
"Tossing our papers instead of the graduation hat? Not bad" I turn to Liz who is now awake and eating her lunch from her lunch box.
"I agree" Icer added, these two- nevermind, Sam smirked at me and I nod my head.
"I think we should do it" I commented.
"Then it's settled" Ace declared with finality.
Volleyball practice. I'm so tired yet I tried my best to toss to my team mates to score. I move towards the net, their formation is hard to read yet I have one person to look- the setter, we're switching positions today and I'm task to be a middle blocker.
Since my original position is a setter, it's easy for me to read their moves and adjust my formation to block the ball. It's only the first set yet all of us are tired, everyday, our practice are getting harder, the drills got more tougher and our coach is expecting us to perform our very best.
We also watched how the male volleyball team play and it was totally far from us, we're just starting at the bottom line and we're no way near them and it's really pressuring.
"Ashlyn, switch positions with me" I called her, she nodded and find the right timing to switch places with me while the other team is focusing on the ball.
"3, 2, 1 and go" she counted and we both jumped then the ball hit my arm and it bounced back towards their side and they failed to cover it up.
"Yes!" Ashlyn gave me a high five making me grin when I saw Liz's pouting face.
Liz is suprisingly hyper these days since the field trip is near, I'm also excited but still a little nervous about leaving the academy.
I wipe off my sweat after the coach announced our breaktime, I look around the gym and spotted a certain group of people, Sofia gave me a small wave before going back on her group's conversation.
Even tho they are also busy with their project, they are still here looking out for me- I also found out that their parents are working on the government- from different countries actually, and their parents ask them to look after me since they have the power here in the school.
Dad really have a wide connection on every country, he also mentioned that Sofia's parents owed him a lot because he saved them from getting ambushed by the terrorists.
"Okay everyone let's cut the practice here, your other team mates needs to prepare for their fieldtrip tomorrow" the coach suddenly announced.
"Wooh! I'm so excited" Liz exclaimed while entering the shower room, I smiled while shaking my head before taking off my shirt.
I sighed and took my towel before entering the available shower cubicle, I turned the water on and remove my remaining clothes I waited for a while until the shower has it's right temperature before taking a shower.
"Hey Tine" I look to my right and saw Sam grinning, I gasp and covered my body but she just laughed.
"What the heck Sam?" I exclaimed while grabbing the shower and splash it to her.
"Girls keep it down" Ashlyn scolded us, I glared at Sam before taking the soap and rubbed it on my skin.
"You know, I think Icer likes you a lot, maybe I should let go of my feelings for him so you two can be together" she smiled, it was all pure and I hate that, I stopped for a bit.
"But I don't have any romantic feelings for him, why bother? I have someone in my mind" I admitted then she turned her shower off while I rinse myself.
"Really? Well who's the lucky guy?" She asked.
"I don't know, I just hope to meet him someday- wait a minute..." I trailed off and turn my shower off and wrapped the towel over my body and grab the smaller one to dry my hair.
"Don't change the topic that easily, do you like Icer? Even tho he bully you?" I asked her, she shrugged.
"I hate him, for life. But after knowing your trauma he kinda treat me differently, he's gentle and even tho he still pisses me off, I just found my day boring without seeing him or talking to him" she admitted and we both walked out of our cubicles.
"Now that's new to the man hater" Liz opened her shower cubicle catching our attention.
"Oh come on you two, lets stop talking about that guy and focus on the field trip" she frowned.
"Alright, we'll stop" Liz giggled and I shrugged.
We walked towards the mirror to blow dry our hair before changing into our clothes seperately.
Liz is right, it's too rare for someone like Samantha Caina Morgan to like somebody and I consider Icer as lucky- who would have thought that this day will come when in fact she rejected every admirers she had these past 4 years.
