13. Her Stares

"Oh no, why are you so demanding, Valliree? I thought you'd be keeping it? No, I am busy today. I have my work. Do what you want, I don't care anymore." Renesmee turned off the phone and rolled her eyes in annoyance. She checked her messages and was surprised upon seeing 53 texts from her acquaintance, Valliree Morgan.
"That bitch is getting into my nerves, I better hurry," she whispered and hurriedly took off for a walk, the rain was hefty and she was now strolling in the school corridor.
She agreed to skip her classes for a while and come by to her small business Cafe. She's been stressing herself out because of the outside activities of the school, she's hoping to see Astrid Hawthorne on the way because the two campuses had their collaboration training sessions. Their instructor is strict and she got scolded a lot of times because of disobedience.
"Why do I even have to team up with her?" Renesmee Fuentes whispered and led her way to the location.
Another phone call interrupted her, she gradually took it from her bag and answered the call. "Yes?"
"Hi, it's me again girl. So, yea. Miss Sanders rejected our group work, I don't know why but it just happened. You need to get back here." She frowned upon hearing the same voice from the other line.
"Val, go approach the other members for now. You're the leader so you better act one, come on!" Without saying anything, she ended the call.
"I think the requirements of our work didn't meet the standards of the reviewers. Anyway, I don't care." Renesmee didn't regret any single thing about helping their team, she's happy whether they pass or not.
"If that was an individual, then I would be the first one to pass. I hate team-building."
While on the way to the school exit, she bumped into a guy she hit upon along the path. It was the same gentleman she saw the other day-Oliver Tycho. He was the man who lent her an umbrella. Her stares met his and she paused from breathing upon feeling her heartbeat. Those dark brown irises of him-gave her butterflies on her stomach and she automatically steps backward, trying to hide her face from him.
She couldn't walk away, lumps were on her throat as she attempted to speak. "Come on, dude. They're all looking for us! We gotta finish the practice." She bit her lower lip when he showed a cute smile before averting his sight away from her. She quickly lowered her gaze and looked down on her feet-blushing.
Renesmee eavesdrops on the conversation of the two guys, "Hey, remember Antoinette from the Cassin Heights? She likes you, idiot. I heard her conversation with Valliree Morgan earlier. Dude, it's your chance now."
Her ears feel tickling upon hearing, "Who the heck is Antoinette?" She whispered and frustration was shown on her face. She could no longer hear what they were talking about when the two had already left.
She frowned and clenched her fist and continued to walk, Renesmee was out of her mood, it convinced her to burn the lady alive.
Upon arriving at the gate of the school building, she sulked her lips in bitterness when she realized she didn't bring her umbrella. It was raining heavily but it didn't stop the school activities. "Should I laugh at myself because of foolishness, huh? Damn you, Esme, why didn't you bring your umbrella!" She sought and roamed her sight around. "Pathetic."
She couldn't cross the road and it made her sore. She decided to sit on the bench located at the side of the gate and cross her arms, stamping her foot to the ground. Renesmee is disheartened. She observes her surroundings-thinking of something else that would help her cross the pathway until she could reach her destination.
"Walking isn't bad at all but this rain is ruining my mood!"
Minutes went by and all she could do was to wait. She badly wanted to go to the Cafe to refresh herself and buy a favorite drink and dessert. Renesmee could feel the starvation within her.
While waiting for a miracle-probably for the rain to stop, someone passes by with an umbrella-the same fellow she confronted in the corridor, and this time he was looking at his phone and his thick bushy brows met. He was about to step on the wet ground when she spoke-with her loud voice.
"Wait!"
The guy was stiff, he turned his gaze on her with confusion. "Uh, can I help you?" he questioned and before he could go near her direction, Renesmee stood up and walked near him.
The guy was startled. He was staring at her and predicted he saw her somewhere. He was amazed by her cerulean irises along with her long eyelashes and her peachy-pink lips. He was captured by her pearly blonde hair which gave more beauty to her complexion.
"Hey, I know we're not close and we probably don't know each other but can I share your umbrella? Again?" Upon hearing her voice, memories were flashing back into his mind and a smile was formed on his edges.
"Uh, sure why not? Where are you heading? The collaboration training is starting." he asked and they began walking out of the school campus while sharing a single umbrella.
"I'm going to have a coffee at Esme's Cafe, what about you?" She replied and her words almost stuttered because of nervousness, she once more felt the butterflies on her belly as her entire body began to feel cold. She was avoiding his gaze and she was shifting her glances.
"That's my destination. I'm meeting someone. My friend, Drian, tricked me again, that dumbass."
"Why? You seem disturbed, what did he do?"
The guy smiled shyly and scratched the back of his head while trying to focus the umbrella on her, "He introduced me to the student from Cassin Heights, her name is Antoinette Mclaren not my type though."
Renesmee shrugged her shoulders and tried to focus her attention on something else, when they arrived at the place, they saw the young lady wearing her student uniform. Her curves were still visible, her attractive round eyes went along with her dark eyelashes. Her natural pouty lips were covered by thick red lipstick, she has dark skin and it gives more beauty to her.
She scowled upon seeing the lady and greeted the guy with an embrace. She headed to the counter and told her crew about her favorite grub and brew. She sat down and stayed patiently for her order to be finished and she couldn't help but glance in his direction. "She's not attractive, damn it," she whispered and rolled her eyes.
She was convincing herself to not pay attention to them, so she took her phone and decided to stalk the lady named Antoinette Ruis. She realized that they're mutual online, "Wait, is this the girl who sent letters at the bookstore?" Her eyes rounded upon seeing Antoinette's profile.
She was scrolling in her account and cussed many times. It seems that she's starting to murder the lass in her head. An hour later, the rain stopped, and she stayed at the Cafe for too long. Suddenly she received another text message. She rose from her seat and paid her order.
She hurried her way out of the place and led her way back to the school campus. She won't attend the class, she won't join in the activities as well, she will be visiting her favorite place-the gallery.
She hid from the other students as she entered the school field. She's always good at it, she mastered it very well.
She passed in a big tree that she once climbed every time the student patrollers searched for her, she crossed the huge wall between the school's border and the museum's place. She sighed in relief upon successfully crossing the threshold.
Someone texted her, saying the huge bags of money were thrown right at the place. Renesmee won't let anyone know that this museum still exists because she wants to own it for herself, she's obsessed with it. Tons of memories were stuck inside the gallery, and one of them dragged her to be someone she is, presently.
She won't let anyone ruin her plans, call her selfish or possessive but that makes her what she is.
"Where did she throw it? Damn." She was busy searching for that large bag when she saw someone from afar, looking at her-those empty stares made her heart pound so fast.
"Why on earth is she here?" She mumbled and stiffed on her location. She freaked out when their stares met.
"Is she a ghost or something?" She whispered once more.
She rushed her way towards her, curiosity was plastered on her face and it's killing her.
"No way, there's no way somebody's going to discover this place."
Her eyes shuddered as she traveled, her gaze on her. She was examining the lady's entire being, Renesmee noticed that she was wearing a hospital gown (designed for inmates).
That made her stiff from where she was standing-she stared at her person, feeling confused.
She couldn't move and her gaze was focused on the lost young lady, as their sight collided-something ached inside her chest, Renesmee was cut off guard. "How the hell did she get here? Who is she?" The more she thinks of her, tons of questions were formed in her head but none of it were answered.
The lady slowly had her steps toward her direction. In each step she was doing-it made Renesmee's heart pound so fast as her knees feel wobbly-ready to tremble down. It feels like she can't breathe when their stares are not averting from one another.
The unusual feeling makes her uncomfortable, and she has no idea why.
"Who are you?"
"Who the hell are you?"
Silence covered the atmosphere when both of them let out a question.
'Who is she? Her presence makes me fear her. Damn.' she thought.
