“Are you trying to hide her face? Who is she? I didn't know that you were taken.” another person asked
“I was trying to make it a secret. We are still young and we don’t want to create any issue.” Ace said
“Oh, I see. See you around then,” they said before walking away
“You better start your engine now. We need to get out of here before anyone passes by.” I said
“Okay, hop on,” he said
“Are you trying to spread a rumor that your girlfriend is still studying here? You should have denied it when they asked.” I said
“Stop nagging and hold on tight. I know that you are not yet used to riding a motorcycle.”
“Then you should have stopped using your motorcycle in fetching me,” I said while holding on to his shoulder
“You can hold on to my jacket if you don’t feel comfortable hugging me,” he said after grabbing my hands and wrapping them on his waist
“Are you trying to flirt with me?” I hugged him when we reached a slightly inclined part of the road
“Are you trying to start an argument?” he answered
“Just making sure. You might have hidden feelings for me but you can’t confess.” I said teasing
“Get off!” he said when we arrived in front of our gate
“Why are you annoyed? Did I hit a hidden nerve?” I said as I removed the helmet and posed with it.
He stopped the engine and then removed his helmet before staring at me seriously. I stuck my tongue out to him to see how he would react. I am confident to tease him because I know that I will not be seeing him once he goes to college.
“You’re too confident now that I have graduated,” he said
“I am confident because I know that I won’t be seeing you for a long time. You will be traveling to the city tomorrow anyways. Do you want to come inside?”
“I would love to but I need to go home and pack my things. Nana isn’t in here anyways and neighbors might spread rumors if they saw a boy,” he said
“Why would they spread rumors when they know very well that you’re a childhood friend? Congratulations and good luck in moving to the city.” I said
“I guess I won’t be able to use this helmet in the meantime. I hope you can find the person who will enjoy going rides with you.” I said as I pat the passenger’s seat.
“I hope so but you can always accompany me if you like.” he winked
“Go home now. It’s late.” I ignored what he said
I was hugging him because he opened his arms when I noticed a car passing by. He hugged me tightly before kissing me on the forehead.
“I will be seeing you again when we will have a break in school,” he said
He looked so cool as he put on his helmet before waving to say goodbye. I jumped in bed as soon as I entered my room and punched my pillows. I closed my eyes as I remembered him kissing my forehead. I imagined that if I looked up then his lips would have landed to mine. I shook my head to erase those thoughts because I find them ridiculous.
We were doing a group activity when I noticed Daniel glaring at me. I would often catch him staring at me and then making an annoyed face every time.
“What the heck is your problem? You have been glaring at me the whole day.” I asked as I pulled him away from our classmates
“I don’t have a problem so I don’t know what you’re saying,” he said sounding annoyed
“I am just asking a question so why are you so pissed. You have been staring at me as if I have wronged you.”
“You are just imagining things,” he said while frowning
“I don’t know what is your problem but I am sure that I was not seeing things. I’m going if you’re not going to tell me. You know that I don’t like misunderstandings so if you hated something about me then better inform me immediately.” I walked away after saying my piece.
“You still don’t have plans to join our table tennis club? The coach has been asking me to convince you to join,” he shouted
“You have been bugging me about that one since last year. Do I have to join? I can play and defeat you on the next intramurals even if I don’t practice.” I said boasting
“Join the club to practice your skills because I don’t care if you will defeat me or not. We both know that we are on par with each other.” Daniel replied
“Will you grant me something if I will join?”
“Why do I have to do that?” he asked
“Then forget it. Keep bugging and your coach will also do the same to you.” I said before leaving him. I smiled contentedly when I hear him cuss.
“Where is your phone?” Daniel said as soon as I entered the room the next day.
“Why? That is not the proper way to borrow a phone.” I said while passing by him and going to my seat.
“Stop pretending that you don’t know what I was talking about,” he said frowning
“I don’t know what you are talking so better explain it to me,” I said ignoring him
“I have been trying to contact you since last night but you blocked me. How dare you?” he said
“Interesting. We haven’t seen a scene like this for a long time.” I heard Jessica say from behind
“What’s happening? Why are they fighting early in the morning?” Vladimir asked
“Just let them be. They will sort it out themselves.” Jessica answered
“Did I block you? I don’t remember doing that. Let me check it.” I said sarcastically
I brought out my phone and pretended to check when he tried snatching it. I don’t have anything to hide but I immediately put my hand holding my phone behind. He tried reaching for it and he ended up hugging me.
“Whoa! Whoa! What is happening here? Why are you hugging each other? Are you flirting in broad daylight? That is not allowed.” Vladimir said teasingly
“What?!” I said as I turned on my side.
Daniel took the opportunity to snatch my phone when I was distracted. I glared at Vladimir before frowning at Daniel.
“Thanks. Let me just check on your phone and do the honor of unblocking myself.” Daniel said as he winked at me.
I was still in disbelief so I reacted late when Daniel walked out while holding my phone. I stood up and was about to follow him when Vladimir stood in front of me while grinning.
“So… Is there something going on between you two now?” he whispered
“What?”
“I caught you hugging each other. Something must be going on between you two.”
“Will you stop teasing me? It wasn’t even a hug and you know that. He was getting my phone.” I explained
“Was he really?” he continued teasing
“Nothing is going on between us because I don’t even like him. Do you want to know who I like?” I said while gesturing for him to come closer using my index finger.
He leaned closer to me as if captivated. I laughed at how this person is always interested in the person I like. I know that he is just being annoying and wants to tease me with something new.
“Who was it? Don’t worry because this is only between us,” he asked
“You are always looking for ways to tease me. Do you think I would share that exclusive information with you? I don’t like anyone at all. Having a crush is not on my mind.” I said while pressing on his cheeks and pouting.
“Will you stop doing that?” he said
“You’re not even stopping me. You look cute.” I said before putting my hand down
“Stop saying that I am cute. I want you to say that I am handsome.”
“Stop fishing for compliments and you should be contented with that,” I said while giving him a sly smile.
“Here’s your phone. I already unblocked myself from everything. I also saved my number since I think you don’t have time to do it yourself.” Daniel handed me my phone.
“Sorry. You were annoying me last night that’s why. Anyway, thank you.” I winked at him
“You better be ready for more teasing once I knew that you are back in each other’s arms,” Vladimir said
“That will never happen. Do you want to bet?” I dared him
“What will you bet? I know that I can beat you easily. I’m a guy and I knew that he likes you. He might confess to you soon.”
“I knew him longer than you and I would feel it if he has feelings for me. Assuming that someone likes you because of their actions is not worth it for me. Action speaks louder than words but not in every situation.” I whispered
