“Don’t worry, I am single and Vladimir is just joking. I already explained it to everyone and here I am repeating it one more time because you were not there.”
“I did not ask for your explanation. You did it yourself.”
“Are you trying to play hard to get with me? I am explaining it to you because I don’t want us to act uncomfortable and awkward inside the classroom since you are sitting in front of me.” I said annoyed
“Why are you getting mad? I am the one who is supposed to be angry here,” he said
“Then stop being moody! Why are getting mad at me without any reason?” I said before pulling his ear out of annoyance
He also grabbed my hair and a fight broke out in the parking lot. I cannot explain what came into me to get annoyed easily when I have a lot of patience. He didn’t pull my hair hard, so he is not annoyed.
“Ouch! That is painful,” he said tugging my hair a little hard to make his point
I let go of his ear and he did the same but I was still annoyed with him so I grabbed his hand and bit it. He sighed and just let me be.
“What?” I said when I noticed him watching me
“I think your precious visitor is coming soon because you are acting strange. Do you want to eat something?” he asked
“Are you telling me that I am strange?” My eyes widened
“Are you done fighting?” Ace said which caught our attention
“Should I bite you too?” I asked him
“What? You are supposed to be happy that I am fetching you.” Ace said
“Oh! I am so happy that you are here since I haven’t seen you for a long time. I’ll give you a tight hug.” I said hugging him
“Ow! What is wrong with you? Why are you biting people’s arms? Are you on that time of the month?” he said tapping me on the back
“I am just annoyed and NO I am not at that time of the month,” I said
“You must have done something to annoy her and now she is letting it out on me.” Ace blamed Daniel
“I didn’t do anything. She is just mad for no reason so that time of the month must be near.” Daniel whispered
“Aren’t you going home? Will the two of you continue gossiping?” I called out to Daniel
“Fine, fine. I’ll go now. I better go now before you get more annoyed.” he said before leaving
“Here.” Ace handed me a helmet
“What is this?” I asked
“A helmet as you can see clearly.”
“What am I going to do with this?” I asked again
“Wear it. What else should you do with a helmet? Do you still need help in putting it on?”
“I know that I should wear it but why?”
“Since when have I used a car to pick you up? I know how to drive a car but it is just the two of us which is why it is better to use the motorcycle,” he explained
“Then you should have told it to me in the first place. Short and simple.” I said rolling my eyes
“It is obvious so why do you have to ask a question,” he said
“Should I bite your arm off? Why are you being irritating today?”
“You started it. I was just answering your questions. We better get going. It is better to fight at home than here. The teachers might see me.”
“Oh... So you are embarrassed now but wrestling me to the ground before was not embarrassing.” I said
“I was still in high school at that time. I am in college now,” he said while starting the engine
I sighed deeply before trying to sit down modestly since I am wearing a skirt uniform. I may be a little boyish but I have to sit properly now.
“Who is going to escort you to this prom?” he asked
“Why is everyone concerned about that? It’s not even related to academics.” I answered indifferently
“You and your anti-social self. That is one of socializing with other people. It may not be a grand party like other countries but that is one way for you to enjoy and remember your high school life.” he explained patiently
“I know that since a lot of my older friends have been talking about what happened last year and how enjoyable it is. Who should I go with?” I asked
“Do you have a special someone? I mean are you in a relationship in case you did not understand.”
“No. I’m still too young to be in a relationship.” I said
“Did they give you any requirements in choosing your partner? Or was your partner assigned to you?”
“Why are you asking those questions? Is it that important?”
“Of course, it is because they are making those requirements to make sure that everyone has partners.”
“Well, I can go alone. No need to have a partner.” I said
“I don’t know what is happening on your mind but if someone asked you out then go with them. It will be helpful as you will have someone to assist you with the grand march.”
“I don’t need assistance. I can join the march alone.”
“You are telling me all the excuses that you can think of just so you will not attend are you?”
“I don’t have plans on going but I must go because it is mandated.”
“Did someone ask you out already? I heard that some of your seniors quite like you.”
“Daniel asked me out since according to the teachers, it is gentlemen’s choice this year. I haven’t decided yet.” I said
“Why haven’t you accepted it? He might ask other people out. I am telling you that it is better to attend the prom with someone than to spend it alone.”
“I will not be spending it alone because I have friends. I can spend it with them and we will be sharing the same table anyway.”
“I think Daniel is right. You seem off today so might have that monthly visit soon.”
“I’ll ask for your advice when needed okay. I will choose a date if that will make your mind at ease.” I said to stop him from talking
“If 2 or more guys ask you out then you should choose the person whom you like or feel comfortable with since you will be spending the whole evening with him.”
“I will keep that in mind. Why do you have a lot to say?” I asked
“I am just concerned and I want you to enjoy your prom.”
“Should I just bring you so you won’t be worried? But then other people aren’t allowed in the prom. The seniors and the juniors are the only ones who can join.” I told him
“You are starting to get irksome do you know that?” he said
“Or maybe I was trying to annoy you intentionally,” I told him while handing the helmet back
“I can’t believe this. I thought you missed me,” he said
“Anyway, thank you for picking me up. It was nice to see you again after a long time.” I said
He turned off the engine and get down from the motorcycle. He slowly removed his helmet before shaking his head. I gaped at him because of his long hair. He has always looked neat before but he has a bad boy look now.
“You might swallow a fly,” he said closing my mouth.
“Umm, what?” I asked since I haven’t heard him properly due to the passing bus
“Nothing. Why are you staring at me like that?” he asked
“I didn’t notice that you have long hair a while ago. Is that allowed in your school?”
“Yes, it is. I just let it be since it is a hassle to always get a haircut. Doesn’t it look messy?”
“It looks good on you. I didn’t expect that it would complement your features.” I said
“As I’ve heard.” he winked
“Are you boasting to me that a lot of girls like you?”
“Yes so start getting jealous while I am here.” he teased
“Narcissist!” I whispered before holding out my hand to him
“What?” he asked
‘Where’s my present?”
“Isn’t fetching you from school not enough as a present?” he said
“How did that become a present? You are the one who volunteered to pick me up. I wasn’t even expecting you. Come on! Don’t be shy, where is my present?”
“I am the present.” he smiled
I rolled my eyes and scoffed in disbelief. How can he be so confident with himself? He laughed heartily before opening his motorcycle’s top box and handing me something wrapped.
“What is this?”
“Open it to find out but do it in your room because I don’t want to see your reaction,” he said
