“I think I should ask the doctor to check if there is something wrong with your head. I know that you did not bump your head since he caught you but there seems to be something going on.” he said sarcastically before pointing to Vladimir
“My bad. That was really uncalled for. Sorry.” I apologized quickly since I know that I made a mistake.
He shook his head as he let me go. Like duh! I know that I can be stubborn at times and wouldn’t have apologized but I do apologize when I know that I am in the wrong.
“I will just answer this call outside so you better stay still.” he said when his phone rang
I stood up as soon as he went out of the room and dragged the dextrose pole towards Vladimir’s bed. I don’t like owing anyone but I guess I am indebted to him for what happened. I wasn’t really sure if he didn’t avoid me on purpose when I slipped. There were scratches on his arm that I am assuming would be from the golden bushes where we fell. Those bushes have tiny thorns and were planted along the way. I watched him while wondering why he was sleeping. Did he perhaps pass out while they were stitching the wound in his forehead? I waved my hand in front of his face to make sure that he was really sleeping.
“What are you doing?” Ace said as he came back
“Why is he sleeping? Did he also pass out?” I asked
“Do you really think that everyone would be like you and pass out from seeing too much blood?” he smirked
“I am asking you a serious question so stop being an annoying jerk.” I said
“He is just sleeping. Do not overthink.” he said before laying down on the bed that was given to me and fidgets with his phone
I ignored him and continued watching Vladimir who was sleeping peacefully. I am trying to observe his distinct features again while he is sleeping.
“Do you like him?” I heard Ace say
“Mmmm mmmm. He is quite good-looking and has strong features. I don’t know why I always find something captivating when I study his appearance closely.” I said
“Oh... Are you treating him as a subject and that is the reason why you like him? I don’t know what to do with you.” he said
“Says a person who had been in a relationship with one of his art subjects.” I said inattentively
Silence filled the room because of what I said. It took some time for me to realize what I said. I slapped my forehead when I felt the awkwardness that suddenly enveloped the room. I kept on tilting my head because I wanted to look back at him but I can’t seem to do it.
“How could you be so thoughtless to say that?! Are you really out of your mind?” I said as I scolded myself when I sensed him leaving the room.
That was a sensitive topic for both of us and we haven’t touched that topic ever. As far as I can remember that incident from the past added to the reasons why we drifted away from each other. I was busy scolding myself that I did not notice Vladimir waking up.
“Ahm!” he said while clearing his throat.
“Oh. You’re awake already. How are you feeling? Should I call the doctor?” I said
“Relax. I’m totally fine except for my wounded forehead.” he said laughing to make me feel better
“It must be painful. You also have scratches and bruises on your hand.” I said scanning his body sadly.
“Don’t blame yourself. It was an accident. You didn’t intend to slip and bump into me.”
“Are you sure that you’re not blaming me even a little? You could have avoided me when you saw me slip.” I said
“Rest assured that I am not blaming you. I am feeling fine so don’t worry.” he answered smiling.
“Tell me if you need anything. I can get it for you.” I said
“I can move on my own and you’re the one who needs some assistance since you’re tied to that pole.” he said while pointing at the dextrose behind me.
“I guess but you can still ask me to do some errands if you can’t do them.”
We were still busy talking when Daniel and Henry entered our room. I looked behind them to see if Ace was there but I couldn't see him. It looks like I have pissed him off and he decided to leave us there.
“The teacher told us to bring your bag in here because you will not be attending the afternoon classes yet.” Henry said
“You should have told my friends to bring it here.” I said
“Your friends? Did I hear what you said correctly? Am I not your friend?” Henry said while pouting.
“Did you miss me that much so you decided or volunteered to come here and look for a fight?” I said
“Answer my question first. Am I not your friend? I wasn’t expecting to hear that from you. I considered you as a friend but you never thought of me as a friend.” he said again
“Stop twisting my words! We both know that’s not what I meant. I don’t know how bored you were to come here and choose to argue with me.”
“I’m leaving since I am not your friend. Goodbye!” he smirked and went out after leaving my bag on the bed
“Oh my gosh! Instead of asking if I am fine, that jerk decided to pick a fight and then has the nerve to walk out. How appalling!”
Daniel stood there frowning while looking at me. He must be surprised by what happened. Vladimir was smiling because he has already seen me bicker with Henry before.
“Can you call that friend of yours to come back here?” I asked Vladimir
He nodded and then I watched him dial his phone before handing it to me. I raised an eyebrow and tapped my left foot while waiting for Henry to answer the phone.
“Do not talk to me ever!” I said as soon as I heard him say hello.
I ended the call after saying one sentence and then returned the phone to Vladimir who was grinning. I laid down on the bed and then shut my eyes tight to avoid Henry if he would come back. I was right because a few moments passed and I heard some footsteps and then he spoke.
“Is she really that pissed to say only one sentence and then drop the call?” I heard Henry whisper to the people around the room.
“I think she is pissed.” Vladimir answered
“Should I say sorry?” Henry answered
‘Who told you to come back? Did those other two giants tell you to come here and annoy me? You can go now.” I said
“I think I heard someone say, giants. Are you talking about us?” Allyson said as he entered
“Is she sleeping?” I heard Jessica’s voice
I sat down and smiled widely. I could see Henry’s face change as he watched my friends approach me.
“Are you okay? Why are you wearing dextrose when you only passed out?” May asked
“My blood sugar dropped according to the doctor, that's why they have no choice but to give it to me.” I answered cheerfully.
“Look at this girl! She shouted at me for picking a fight but suddenly changed her attitude. I cannot believe this! I’m going!” Henry said and walked out for the second time.
“Why is he so pissed with me? Did something happen in school while I was gone?” I said with a puzzled look.
“Should I tell you?” Vladimir said
“Umm yeah if you know the details. Please fill me in.” I answered
“Do you know that you have been asking for a fight since he came inside? I think he was hurt by your attitude.” Vladimir said
“What? I didn’t do anything wrong. He was the one who started it.” I said
“Umm, I will not comment on that because that will be between the two of you. You need to sort that out between yourselves.” Vladimir said
“Fine.” I said before grabbing the pole where my dextrose was hanging and dragging it outside.
“Where are you going?” Jackson asked
“I will go and look for the other giant that is sulking. Don’t follow me.” I said
I saw Henry standing outside the hospital with his arms crossed. I approached him slowly and stood beside him.
“What are you doing here?” I asked
“Why? Do you also want me to go away? I left your room so what is your problem now.” he answered me
I giggled and as I watched him get mad. He stared at me with disbelief.
“I’m sorry. I was just kidding a while ago but you took it seriously. You started the fight.” I said
