She ended the call after that out of worry that my arm might hurt from holding the phone for too long. She smiled at me again to say thanks before going back to washing the plates.
“Aren’t you going to bed? You can leave me alone.” she said
I didn’t answer her and went to sit down in the chair and watched her move around the kitchen.
“Aren’t you sleepy?” she asked me again after she was done
“I was waiting for you to be done in case you get bored.” I said
“I doubt that. I am used to being alone and doing things on my own so it’s not a big deal. You still don’t know me that well.” she answered
I can’t understand why I am being drawn to her. Was it because we are the opposite of each other? Do opposite people really attract each other? I lay in the guestroom as I wondered the answer to those questions. I woke up the next day due to a knock on the door. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Athena standing by the door.
“Aren’t you going to school?” she asked
“What time is it?” I asked instead of answering her question
“It’s past 10 already. You can freshen up before you come down to have breakfast. Here are your clothes from last night. They are all clean and smell nice after washing.”
I was in a daze for some time and only started to move when I smelled the scent of butter coming in the door. I am feeling embarrassed for using her jerseys as pajamas so I went to have a shower before I use my clothes from last night.
“Come and join me first for breakfast before you go home.” she said
I bade goodbye after eating but did not expect that to be the last close encounter that we will have. Both of us are in different classes so we don’t usually cross paths.

“Hey, is your phone still not repaired? It has been two months already.” Allyson whispered to me while we were having the class.
“Allyson and Athena! What are you talking about there at the back?” the teacher shouted at us.
“Ma’am, Allyson was asking me something about the lesson.” I answered immediately
“Why should he ask you when I am here in front?” the teacher said again
“I’m sorry ma’am. I will ask you immediately next time.” Allyson said
I bit my lips as soon as Allyson spoke because he said the wrong choice of words. He should have just ended up saying sorry. I avoided the teacher’s eyes by bowing my head.
“You have become talkative these days, Athena. If you're not talking to Henry or Jackson, you’re talking to Allyson.” she said
“I’m sorry ma’am.” I said
“I warned you before and this is already your third warning. Get your books and go stand outside.” she said
“But ma’am…” Allyson said to protest.
I pinched him to stop talking before we got in more trouble. He looked at me innocently as if he didn't know the reason I did it.
“Both of you out! You will stay there for the remainder of the lesson.” the teacher shouted as she glared at us
I picked up my book and pen before going out. Allyson followed me smiling as if he didn't care about the punishment.
“Stand there and do not even think of leaning on the wall.” the teacher said
I sighed after the teacher went back to the classroom. How could we study and write properly while standing up? I’m not even sure if I could hold on for thirty minutes. I started reading my book but felt uncomfortable when I started to write.
“Oooops! Looks like the person you admire will pass by.” Allyson whispered
I glared at him and was about to pull his ear when I heard some noise coming from the room beside us. A group of fourth-year or senior students are starting to get out of their room. They can’t avoid but look at us as they go on their way since we are standing near the pathway. My eyes widened when I saw someone coming out of the door. I immediately covered my face using the book I was holding. I slowly opened my eyes and shut them tightly as I lowered the book when I was sure that all of them had passed already. I saw a pair of shoes in front of me which made me wonder if Allyson was in front of me but the shoes aren’t his. I looked at my side and saw him still standing beside me. I looked up to the person in front of me and saw Ace standing staring at me seriously.
“Ah. hehe.” I chuckled before avoiding his eyes
“Did you finally get in trouble?” he asked
“Or you could have just ignored me and gone on your way.” I smirked at him
“How could I? I find it interesting actually. You’re finally getting in trouble.” he said before he patted my head and smiled as he walked away.
“Tsk. tsk. Do you really admire him that much and a simple pat on the head would make you blush?” Allyson teased as soon as Ace was out of sight
“I was blushing because I was embarrassed. He finally noticed and talked to me but it was because I was being punished. Do you know how embarrassing that is?” I said in an annoyed voice
“Still you should be thankful for getting in trouble because he wouldn’t have known about you.” Allyson said
“I don’t like that kind of logic. And for your information, he knows about my existence.”
“Still you should be thankful that he finally talked to you. Say thank you to me.” he said
I am still annoyed so I pulled his ear to stop him from teasing me. We are bickering while he is leaning down on me. I really appreciate them for being a gentleman when I pull their ears because they never pushed me away. I also make sure not to pull it too strong so they wouldn’t get hurt. They consider me as one of the boys but they also made sure that they aren’t too harsh. We both stood up straight when we heard noises of students coming down the pathway. The class of Jessica and May were on their way to the library and it so happened that our teacher was peeking at the door so I couldn’t cover my face. I could see my friends poking each other as they came in stride towards us.
“Oh my gosh! You finally got in trouble and as expected, you’re not alone.” May said in an excited voice.
“I know right! If I have my phone with me, I would really love to take a photo.” Jessica also said giggling
They would have kept on staring at me if their teacher wasn’t following them. They are giggling as they look back at me even if I was giving them a black look.
“Umm sorry. I think I ruined your good girl image.” Allyson said as I leaned on him while waiting for the teacher to call us inside
“I’m not really the definition of a good girl so you can’t call me that but you did stain the image that people know. You got us in trouble and my friends even saw it.” I said.
“Then you should have told the teacher that I was disturbing you so you wouldn’t be here with me.” he said
I hit him on his arm because of what he said. Is he really blaming me? How dare he? If it is not because of his mouth then we shouldn’t be here. I glared at him because of what he said.
“I’m just joking. Do you want me to carry you? Try moving your feet or else you will have cramps.” he said smiling.
“If I’m not wearing a skirt then I will really ask you to carry me. Will you stop joking around? We might end up in the principal's office.”
“Aren’t you leaning too comfortably now? I didn’t expect that you would become heavier.”
“I didn’t! Did I? I don’t really care if I become heavier.” I said even if I know that he is joking.
I don’t really care if I gain a little weight since I am not that sensitive about my weight yet. Other people tell me that it’s fine if I gain a little weight but I can’t seem to put on weight. Maybe it was because I am always moving around since there are a lot of things to do in the province.
“Yes, you did. Have you been eating a lot lately?” he asked
“Did I finally gain weight? Then I should go and check it out later at the clinic.”
“Oh my gosh! I didn’t know that you have this weirdness inside of you. Other girls would freak out if they heard that they gained weight. Are you being serious now? Did you bump your head somewhere else?” he asked in awe
