CHAPTER 16

Executive Eun nodded. "I'm sure. We have enough evidence to put your father behind bars for a long time."
Yuna's heart pounded in her chest as she walked through the dimly lit hallway of her apartment building. She clutched the brown envelope tightly in her hand, the weight of its contents a heavy burden on her conscience.
She stepped into her apartment and locked the door behind her, the weight of her decision heavy on her shoulders. She knew that if she turned the documents over to the authorities, her secrets will be revealed and her reputation would be ruined, and he could potentially face jail time. But if she kept them hidden, she could be complicit in his crimes.
Yuna paced back and forth in her living room, the weight of the decision bearing down on her. She couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, couldn't focus on anything else.
The days had passed
After much contemplation, Yuna decided to hide the documents in a safe place, where they could not be found by anyone else. She knew that if anyone found out about the documents, she could face serious legal consequences.
Hoping to keep them safe until she could figure out what to do with them.
Executive Eun asked Yuna about the documents. Yuna panicked and told him that they had been lost. Eun was furious and demanded that Yuna find them immediately.
"The documents have been lost," she said, hoping that Eun would buy it. But Eun wasn't convinced.
"Are you sure they're lost?" he asked, staring at her intently.
"Yes, I'm sure," Yuna replied, trying to keep her voice steady.
Eun looked at her suspiciously before finally nodding and walking away. Yuna let out a sigh of relief, but knew that she could not let her guard down just yet. She had to keep the documents hidden and out of harm's way.
As the nights come, Yuna started to feel the pressure of the secret weighing down on her. She couldn't sleep properly and her work began to suffer. She knew that she had to do something to get rid of the documents once and for all.
Attorney Yuna sat at her desk, staring at the stack of files in front of her.
She couldn't take it anymore, the pressure was too much to bear. She needed to talk to someone.
She picked up her phone and dialed Detective Lee's number. Attorney Yuna knows that Detective Lee is already fine after he admitted to the hospital. They had worked together on a this case and she trusted him. He answered on the second ring.
"Detective Lee, it's Yuna. I need to talk to you."
"Is everything okay?" he asked.
"No, it's not. Can we meet?"
"Of course, where do you want to meet?"
"There's a coffee shop on 5th and Main. Can we meet there in an hour?"
"Sure, I'll see you there."
Yuna hung up the phone and took a deep breath. She knew she was taking a risk by confiding in Detective Lee, but she couldn't keep the secret any longer.
An hour later, Yuna walked into the coffee shop and saw Detective Lee sitting at a table in the corner. She walked over and sat down across from him.
"What's going on, Yuna?" he asked.
"I need to tell you something," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Okay, go ahead."
Yuna took another deep breath before speaking. "After what happened in the warehouse where the transaction happen, We talk Mr. Johnson in the other room of the hospital. He want me to help him or else he would reveal my secrets."
"Why didn't you tell anyone? What secrets?" Detective Lee asked.
"I can't." Attorney Yuna said
Detective Lee leaned back in his chair and took a sip of his coffee. "You did the right thing by telling me. We need to figure out what to do next. But tell me, what is your secrets."
"Two years ago, I killed the witness in the to win my case." Attorney Yuna said, her voice shaking slightly.
Detective Lee's heart skipped a beat. This was a bombshell, something he had never expected to hear. He tried to keep his voice steady as he asked, "What do you mean, you killed the witness?"
"I mean exactly that," Attorney Yuna said. "I knew that the witness was going to testify against my client, and I couldn't let that happen. So I took matters into my own hands."
Detective Lee felt a mix of shock, anger, and confusion. He had worked closely with Attorney Yuna for months, and he had never suspected that she could be capable of something like this.
"Why are you telling me this now?" he asked.
"Because I can't live with the guilt anymore," Attorney Yuna said. "And I wanted to confess before it's too late."
Detective Lee took a deep breath and tried to think of his next move. He knew that he had to report this confession to his superiors, but he also knew that it could have far-reaching consequences for everyone involved.
"I need your help," said Attorney Yuna. "The guilt has been eating away at me, and I can't take it anymore. I need to confess and turn myself in, I want to change and to make everything alright."
Detective Lee was torn. On one hand, he was duty-bound to uphold the law and bring criminals to justice. On the other hand, he had developed feelings for Attorney Yuna over the course of their work together, and he didn't want to see her punished.
"Attorney Yuna, I don't know what to say," he said, his voice shaking. "I care about you, but I can't just let you get away with murder."
"I understand," said Attorney Yuna, her eyes brimming with tears. "I'm prepared to face the consequences of my actions. But please, Detective Lee, I need your help to make sure that Mr. Johnson will be going to jail"
