CHAPTER 18

As the trial continued, and Attorney Yuna and Detective Lee had been working tirelessly to uncover the mystery of the case. It was a high-profile case, and the media had been following it closely. As sat on the edge of their seats listening intently to the testimony being given. Suddenly, the door to the courtroom burst open and a man rushed in, causing a commotion.
"I'm sorry, Your Honor," the man said, panting. "But we need to stop the trial immediately. Mr. Johnson has been shot."
The courtroom erupted in chaos as everyone tried to process what had just happened. Attorney Yuna and Detective Lee exchanged a quick glance, knowing that this was a critical moment in the case. Their hearts sinking at the news. "What? Is he okay?" Yuna asked, her voice trembling.
The defender shook his head. "No, I'm afraid not. He was shot in the head by a sniper outside the courthouse. He's full of blood."
Yuna and Lee stood up, their eyes widening in shock. "I need to follow him to the hospital," Yuna said, grabbing his coat.
Without hesitation, they rushed outside to see what had happened. The scene outside was chaos, with people running in every direction and police officers trying to gain control of the situation.
Detective Lee nodded, her mind racing with questions. Who would want to kill Mr. Johnson? And why?
As they rushed out of the courtroom, Yuna and Lee heard the sound of sirens outside. They knew that the police and ambulance would be arriving soon.
When they got outside, they saw a crowd of people gathered around a figure lying on the ground. Yuna gasped when she saw that it was Mr. Johnson, his face pale and his clothes soaked in blood.
"Get him onto the stretcher," Lee ordered, as the paramedics arrived.
As Mr. Johnson was loaded onto the ambulance, Yuna and Lee approached a police officer standing nearby. "What happened?" Yuna asked.
The officer shook his head. "We don't know yet. We received a call about a sniper shooting and rushed over. We found Mr. Johnson lying on the ground, but the shooter was gone."
Yuna felt a chill run down her spine. This was no ordinary case. It was becoming clear that there was a larger conspiracy at play.
Detective Lee immediately sent his team to investigate, but then the sniper can't be found.
As the investigation got underway, Detective Lee and his team worked tirelessly to gather evidence and interview witnesses. They combed through CCTV footage and analyzed bullet casings, trying to piece together what had happened and who was responsible.
Meanwhile, Attorney Yuna stayed by Mr. Johnson's side, determined to get to the bottom of the mystery.
As Mr. Johnson was rushed to the hospital, Lee began to investigate. They talked to witnesses, scoured the crime scene for clues, and pieced together a timeline of events.
It soon became clear that someone had been targeting Mr. Johnson for some time. He had received threatening letters and emails, and there had been several attempts on his life in the past.
But who was behind it all? Yuna and Lee had a list of suspects, including rival businessmen, political opponents, and even some members of Mr. Johnson's illegal business partners transaction.
As they delved deeper into the investigation, they uncovered a web of lies and deceit. People were not who they appeared to be, and everyone seemed to have a motive for wanting Mr. Johnson dead.
One day, Yuna received a call from an anonymous source. "Meet me at the pier tonight," the voice said. "I have information about the shooter."
Yuna and Lee immediately headed to the pier, cautious and alert. When they arrived, they saw a figure standing in the shadows.
"Who are you?" Yuna asked, her hand on her gun.
The figure stepped forward, revealing a face that Yuna recognized immediately. "It's you," she said, shocked. "But why?"
The person smiled. "I had to do it. Mr. Johnson was getting too close to the truth. He was about to uncover a massive corruption scandal that would have ruined me and my associates. I had no choice but to silence him."
Yuna and Lee moved in to arrest the person, but a sudden gunshot rang out. Yuna felt a searing pain in her chest and fell to the ground.
"Yuna!" Lee shouted, as he pulled out his gun and fired at the shooter.
Lee had always been a man of action. He had served his country for years as a Detective, and had seen more than his fair share of violence and death. But nothing could have prepared him for the sight of Attorney Yuna, his love in this dangerous game of espionage and international intrigue, lying in his arms, bleeding out from a gunshot wound to the chest.
"Yuna, can you hear me? Stay with me!" Lee pleaded, his eyes darting around the deserted alleyway for any sign of the shooter. He knew they were in a dangerous game, but he never thought that it would be happen like this.
Yuna's eyes fluttered open, and she gasped for air. "Lee, I'm sorry. I didn't see it coming."
"It's okay, Yuna. Just stay with me. We'll get you some help," Lee said, his voice shaking with emotion. He knew that time was running out, and he needed to act fast if he wanted to save Attorney Yuna.
Suddenly, a sound caught his attention, and he turned to see a figure emerging from the shadows. The man was tall and imposing, with a gun in his hand and a look of cold determination on his face.
"Who are you? What do you want?" Lee demanded, his own gun at the ready.
The man laughed, a cold, mocking sound that sent shivers down Lee's spine. "You don't know, do you? You think you're so clever, with your little games and your secret codes. But you're just pawns in a much larger game, and I'm here to put an end to it."
Lee's mind raced as he tried to think of a way out of this. He knew that they were up against a formidable opponent, but he also knew that he couldn't let Yuna die in vain.
"Listen to me. Whatever you think you know, whatever game you think you're playing, it's not worth it. You can still walk away from this. You don't have to do this," Lee said, his voice calm and measured.
The man sneered, and raised his gun. "You don't get it, do you? I'm not walking away from anything. I've been sent here to finish what I started, and nothing is going to stand in my way."
Lee knew that he had no choice. He raised his gun, and took aim at the man's chest. "I'm sorry," he said, and pulled the trigger.
The man fell to the ground, dead. Lee rushed over to Yuna, cradling her in his arms. He could feel her life slipping away, and he knew that he had to act fast if he wanted to save her.
"Yuna, stay with me. We're going to get you some help," Lee said, his voice shaking with emotion.
But it was too late. Yuna's eyes closed, and her body went limp in his arms. Lee knew that he had lost her, and he felt a wave of grief and anger wash over him.
He looked up, and saw that the alleyway was empty. The shooter was gone, and with him, any hope of finding out who had sent him.
Detective Lee knew that he had to find out who was behind this, and he was willing to do whatever it took to get the answers he needed. He would stop at nothing to uncover the mystery of this case, and to make sure that those responsible paid for their crimes.
As he sat there, cradling Yuna's lifeless body in his arms, Lee made a vow. He would find out the truth, no matter how dangerous the path ahead might be. He would honor Yuna's memory, and make sure that he would do anything to solve the case.
