CHAPTER 20

Detective Lee got into his own car and began to tail Octavius. He followed him through the city streets, keeping a safe distance, until they eventually arrived at a secluded warehouse on the outskirts of town.
Lee watched from the shadows as Octavius got out of his car and entered the warehouse. Lee knew he couldn't just barge in there and demand answers, so he waited and watched, hoping to catch a glimpse of something that would help him crack the case.
Hours passed, and Lee was starting to lose hope when he saw a group of men emerge from the warehouse, carrying large bags. He recognized them as some of the known associates of Octavius, and he knew this was his chance.
He followed the men to a nearby dock, where they began to load the bags onto a waiting boat. Lee watched as the boat pulled away, heading out to sea.
Without hesitation, Lee commandeered a nearby speedboat and set off in pursuit. He was determined to find out what was in those bags and to get to the bottom of Octavius's operation.
As he raced across the waves, Lee could feel his heart pounding in his chest. He knew he was taking a huge risk, but he was willing to do whatever it took to bring Octavius to justice.
Eventually, the boat came to a stop in the middle of the ocean, and the men began to transfer the bags onto a larger ship. Lee knew this was his chance to strike.
He put on a bulletproof vest, grabbed his gun, and jumped onto the deck of the ship, ready for a fight. What he found inside the bags shocked him to the core. They were filled with weapons-grade uranium, enough to make several dirty bombs.
Octavius himself was waiting for Lee, and they engaged in a fierce battle that left both men battered and bruised.
"I've been waiting for you, Lee," he said, his voice cold and menacing. "You're a man of action, just like me. We have a lot in common."
Lee didn't respond. He knew that he had to tread carefully if he wanted to make it out of this alive.
Octavius stood up and walked towards him, his movements slow and deliberate. Lee could see the glint of a knife in his hand, and he knew that things were about to get ugly.
Without warning, Octavius lunged at him, the knife glinting in the light. Lee was quick to react, dodging the blow and punching Octavius in the face. The two men engaged in a fierce battle that left both of them battered and bruised.
Detective Lee knew that there was more to this than just a simple battle between two men. Octavius was after something, but what?
As the wind was blowing fiercely, and the waves were crashing against the ship.
"Put down the knife, Octavius," Detective Lee said calmly. "It's over."
"Never!" Octavius yelled. "I'll never let you take me alive!"
Octavius lunged forward with the knife, but Detective Lee was quick to dodge it. He fired his gun, but Octavius managed to avoid the bullet.
The two men circled each other, their eyes locked in a deadly stare. Detective Lee knew that he had to be careful. Octavius was obviously a skilled man, and he had nothing to lose.
Suddenly, Octavius lunged forward again, and Detective Lee fired his gun once more. This time, the bullet hit Octavius in the arm, causing him to drop the knife.
Detective Lee rushed forward to apprehend Octavius, but he was not done yet. He tackled Detective Lee, and they both fell to the ground.
The two men grappled with each other, each trying to gain the upper hand. Detective Lee was able to pin Octavius to the ground, but Octavius managed to grab a nearby pipe and hit Detective Lee on the head with it. His head throbbing with pain. And everything went black.
He could feel blood trickling down the side of his face, and he struggled to stand up.
With a sinking feeling in his gut, Detective Lee knew that he had let his guard down, and Octavius had taken advantage of the situation.
Detective Lee woke up in a dimly lit room, with his head throbbing with pain. He couldn't remember how he got there or who had taken him. All he knew was that he needed to find a way out before it was too late.
He tried to get up, but his hands and feet were tied. He struggled for a moment before he realized that he was not alone. A figure stepped out of the shadows, revealing himself to be none other than Octavius.
"Welcome, Detective," Octavius said with a smile. "I've been waiting for you."
"What do you want?" Detective Lee asked, his voice laced with anger and fear.
Octavius smirked. "I want to play a game with you, Detective. A game of trust and betrayal."
Lee narrowed his eyes. "What kind of game?"
Octavius leaned in closer. "I'll give you a clue about a case that has been bothering you for months. But in exchange, you have to trust me and believe that I am your brother."
Lee's heart skipped a beat. "What are you talking about? I don't have a brother."
Octavius chuckled. "Oh, but you do. Your parents gave birth to twins, but they could only afford to keep one. They gave me away to a family that lived on the other side of the country. I grew up to become a criminal, while you became a detective. It's funny how life works, isn't it?"
Lee was speechless. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Why are you telling me this now?"
Octavius shrugged. "Because I want to see if blood is really thicker than water. Will you trust me enough to believe that I am your brother?"
Lee didn't know what to do. He want trying to put him behind bars. And now, he was sitting in front of him, claiming to be his long-lost brother. It was too much to take in.
"Give me the clue," Lee said, trying to buy some time.
Octavius smiled. "The case about Mr. Johnson lies in the code. Look for the code, and you will find the answer you seek."
And with that, Octavius disappeared back into the shadows, leaving Lee alone in the room.
Lee knew he had to act fast. He tried to free himself from the ropes that bound him, but they were too tight.
