Chapter 72: Early Betrayal I crossed my arms while watching him leave, he just added pressure to my fist; he just added more reason to bring them down. ‘I will never bring him down.’ “I don’t like him.” Lizo suddenly spoke behind me. “Asked him if he liked you first,” I spoke. “That’s harsh,” “I was never soft, Lizo, don’t mock me.” I started feeling nauseous, so I walked back to my office to rest. While Lizo was tailing me. “What do you want?” “You don’t look fine.” He said I was not feeling right truly. “Those Alphas stressed me out, they’re chaotic,” I said and closed my eyes then leaned on my chair. “They weren’t really trying to piss you off, they were just pointing out obvious things but you looked stressed about it.” My head cringed when I heard that. “Are you saying I was overreacting?” “No! Of course not, I just find it odd since you don’t usually show your mad, you would throw sarcastic remarks like nothing, you were unbothered usually…” “And your point is?” He’s stressing me too.” “You act odd today, you seemed about to cut their throat anytime soon.” I blew a heavy breath and opened my eyes. “Can you just leave?” My head hurts more. “Copy that, Alpha.” He slowly walked out of the room. And Linda entered before he could close the door. “Alpha,” “I want to hear something good, Linda,” I demanded before he could speak. “The Alphas have left excluding, Lady Miradel and Alpha Flynn.” I see. “You don’t look fine.” She stated and I totally agree. “I don’t feel fine either, but I just need a little rest…I guess?” I said and stood to my bathroom. Maybe a cold shower would ease my stress. “Do you need anything?” “No, I just want peace for straight two hours or three unless it’s urgent. Keep the perimeter well-guarded, I badly want to lay on my bed. “Okay,” ---- ‘ALPHA!’ I jumped out of my bed when I heard Linda in my mind called me. I slipped into my cape and summoned my bow and arrow. How dare they ruin my sleep. I summoned my wand and merged it with my bow. Whoever tried to break in should lose their soul before he could step out. I stood on my terrace and closed my eyes. And I saw the man, the mysterious man in a black cape that seemed familiar. I position my bow and feel the arrow at the tip of my finger. I released my arrow and it hit his chest. I opened my eyes and all I could see were trees. I jumped down and run to him, I want to see him begging to sphere his life. He must have wondered where my arrow came from. It just appeared before his eyes and hit him. That was my newly mastered technique. I find him lying on the ground, but I could still hear his heartbeat, I missed him. His lucky day, I guess. “You can still breath, tell you, minion, to leave my land as soon as possible,” I said. He looked at me with a cold stare, blood came out from his mouth, yet he smiled. I instantly positioned my bow to finish him- “NO!” Linda suddenly stood in front of me. “Why are you protecting him, that’s Dion’s minion!” “Alpha,” she unbelievably looked at me. “Don’t you recognize him?” She asked and I pushed her away before he could escape. But it was useless since he suddenly vanished in the air. “What were you thinking!” I was so mad, but she was beyond furious when I faced her. What was going on? “I should ask you that! What were you thinking!” She shouted in my face. Something that she never did before. “What do you mean? You let him escape!” “Why do you want to kill him?” She was teary-eyed and furious. What was up to her? “After all-“ “Linda.” Lizo suddenly came and cut her off. They talked through the link without letting me hear it. What was with them? Linda faced me again and looked at my ring. “Don’t kill him, hurt him but never end his life.” She said which surprised me. “Why? What is he to you?” “Just don’t kill him, cage him if you want but never kill him.” She was too serious to cross, she seemed giving me death threats. “What if I kill him?” “You will not just lose me but more than you thought.” She said and leave. Their leader has escaped but their minion was attacking ready to die just to cut a few of our tentacles. Lizo was left with me with a worried expression. “I hope you still hold the situation and nothing goes wrong with your plan.” He spoke. “A hundred percent sure,” I answered. “Then I must trust that everything is happening as you planned, and your plan,” he spoke. He ran to hunt the intruders down while I walk confidently to where the commotion was happening. I did not bother hiding my presence; I want them to know that I was coming and that they must run away. I started firing arrows at Miradel’s opponent. “Need a hand, Miradel?” Her eyes were on me, she was staring at me oddly like she was trying to figure out something. When I saw that he brought a battalion to attack not just to warn us I lost my cool and shifted. “Ran fast and bite all that comes in my way, I clawed everyone that gets near me. I jumped to and bit its neck until his heartbeat stopped. Until I could not follow my movements anymore, my wolf was too aggressive, and I let him take over. “Alpha,” someone called, and I was about to attack it, but a werewolf stopped me. Then I realized it was Gunner, and behind him was Linda in human form. “Alpha, are you okay?” She asked walking towards me. I shifted and wiped my face, it was full of blood but none of it was mine. “This was my enemies’ blood, don’t worry about me,” I spoke. She was only staring at me with a worried face. “Is everyone fine?” I asked. “Yes,” Timor answered. I nodded and started walking back to the house. “How’s Alpha Riva and Rina?” I asked him when I felt him walk beside me. “I’m not sure, I haven’t heard anything from them.” He was so worried, I understand. That was normal for him. “Then that means they’re fine.” “I hope so.” I heard him speak before I left his side and walked to my room. I went straight to wash the stinky smell of blood from my body. I wanted to lay on my bed again, but I need to talk to them. ‘Gather to my office,’ I notified everyone. There must be something behind this sudden attack. That was not just a warning. They were testing our resistance and chance to this war. But why? Did he hear about the plan and how wide I managed to ally packs? “Alpha, Alpha Flyn has something to tell you.” They all gathered at my office sooner than I expected. “Alpha Flynn.” I let him talk. “My Beta notified me something disappointing.” I waited for him to continue. “He saw Alpha Kiel go to Dion’s pack. He was accepted peacefully and with a full smile by Dion.” “Bastard.” The only words that came out of my mouth. He betrayed this early. Yet his words before he left resounded in my head. “What should we do? Should we attack his pack to make him pay for his betrayal?” Devon asked. “Not yet,” I touched the table and the mini forest appeared. “When he went to Dion, his army came here that quick. That means they were already around the territory, and when Dion signaled them to attack, they attack in perfect timing.” I drew the line in closing our territory. And burned point the location around it that could be possibly their hideout for now. “Yes, I thought so too.” “Who’s behind this was Kiel.” Linda slowly spoke trying to figure out something. “What could be his reason?” “We don’t know, let’s just act like we know nothing. Let him be but be cautious. Good thing, Riva did not reveal her plan. But I don’t think they’d be safe despite that. “Keep watching their activities,” I said and eyed everyone. Some were injured. “Any updates?” “Nothing, for now, Alpha?” We ended the meeting shortly since we have nothing to talk about. They all left to do their thing and I was left alone trying to plot something to gather more information. Someone entered without knocking so I looked at who was it. Miradel with a high head looked at me. “I wish to talk to you privately.” I was surprised by her sudden submissive attitude. “Sure, what is it?” She walked to me and sat across me. “Since when were you acquiring this extent of power?” My lips twitched when she asked that. “Interesting, isn’t it?” Maybe she hasn’t witnessed the power of ancient healers like me. “This is important.” She spoke. “When I saw Rylan die in front of me, I was so mad and felt the power inside me. I feel like this is the true me.” I answered. “That’s dangerous.” She spoke. And peruse every inch of me. “No, this is the true power of a half-blooded like me. This is my ace for this war.” “Is this Rylan your mate?” She was starting to confuse me. “Why?” “Tell me.” She insisted. “Yes,” she looked horrified when I said that. “You’re pregnant.”
