A middle-aged woman is looking for herbal plants, as she does on a daily basis in the forest on a mountain. She travels for kilometers and climbs mountains just to find plants to sell and make a living. However, something seemed unusual around the mountain that morning. She can see smokes and smell a strong burning odor from a distance. She feels strange because the mountain is an isolated location that is rarely visited by hikers due to its haunted history. As a result, it is improbable that there would be people camping and barbecuing in the area. Suspicious, the woman decides to investigate the source of the smoke. The stronger the smell becomes as she gets closer. She notices a pile of burned black things in front of her. She's not sure what it was, so she gets closer. She reaches out and touches the burned subject with a nearby twig. To her surprise, her touch caused a portion of the subject to fall to the ground, shocking her even more. "AAAAHHHHHHH!!!" she screams in terror and flees. The subject that has fallen to the ground is a human hand. The corpses of nearly tens of people were burned in the stack. The discovery of dozens of burned bodies on the mountain quickly became a hot topic among locals. Police officers rush to the crime scene and form a police line to keep civilians from approaching and disrupting the investigation. There is a forensic team as well as a detective investigating what happened to the corpse. Lee Sung Gi happened to be one of the detectives who arrived on the scene. The handsome detective with narrowed eyes closely examines the corpse, trying to figure out any details on the body. It appears that the body was burned last night. When he examines the corpse, he notices a vivid scar of two tiny holes parallel and adjacent on the neck. He frowns, as it appears to be familiar to him. He switches from one corpse to the others and is surprised to find that all of the corpses have the same scar on the neck, as if something with a long fang had bitten them, vampires. Except for a vampire bite, he had never seen a wound like this before. His attention was immediately drawn to one particular creature, Helios. The only person capable of cruelly biting humans and killing them in this manner is the cruel vampire. When Helios left Korea centuries ago, he never found another case like this, but now that the great vampire has returned, something terrible he witnessed in the past has happened again. "It would be difficult to determine the identity of the corpse based on their condition; we will provide you with a report once the forensic investigation is completed," one of the forensic team members approaches and speaks with the detective. Sung Gi nods as his gaze shifts to the worker. "Thank you for your hard work," he says as he prepares to leave the crime scene. "Ah! Can I go check on the corpse later today?" Sung Gi turns around and inquires about his visit with the forensic team. They give him permission to do so. Meanwhile, at the chairman's residence, Moon Ryeong is assisting Jae Rim in preparing breakfast for himself and Ha Eun. She insist of helping him out of guilty that he get hurted because of her. As a result, she arrives at the house early in the morning to ensure that Jae Rim gets enough rest at home while not doing anything that will tire him out. She is not a good cook and has never prepared a meal for someone else. But she figures she'll find out about it during the process. Jae Rim is sitting closely and watching her every move, and he can't help but be grateful for her kind gesture. She doesn't need to go there just to cook for them; while Jae Rim enjoys cooking on his own at times, he also has a household assistant who can assist him with cooking and cleaning. But seeing the lady insist on cooking even though she is struggling became a source of happiness for him. Even a simple breakfast takes Moon Ryeong hours to prepare. But she is relieved because she can finally finish the meal preparation and serve it to Jae Rim and Ha Eun, who have been waiting for her. While Moon Ryeong waits for their reaction, the father and daughter try the meal. "It's strange," Ha Eun says candidly, and immediately knocks Moon Ryeong down. "I knew it," the lady says, disappointed in herself. She should never start cooking from the beginning. "Why? It's both edible and healthy. You can't be picky about your food, Ha Eun." Jae Rim warns Ha Eun to appreciate Moon Ryeong's efforts. The little girl appears hesitant, but she eats the meal regardless, despite the fact that it is not particularly enjoyable for her. "Well, you don't have to force her; perhaps we could order something instead?" Moon Ryeong does not want Jae Rim to make Ha Eun eat the meal she prepared if she does not enjoy it. But because Jae Rim is being strict about it, she is powerless to intervene. Jae Rim would rest at home for the time being due to his injury and would not go to work. When Ha Eun needs to go to school, he calls a driver to ride in his car and accompany them to school. Jae Rim, Ha Eun, and Moon Ryeong are now sitting in the back seat of the car on their way to Ha Eun's school. They drop Ha Eun off at school and say their goodbyes. Moon Ryeong is about to leave to meet Ha Eun at school when Jae Rim stops her. "I believe Ha Eun will be fine. Ohn Jung Sik is not around anymore. So you don't have to accompany her all the time like you used to "Jae Rim informs Moon Ryeong that she no longer needs to wait for Ha Eun to finish school. "Really? Should I go home right now?" The lady approaches the chairman. She believes she will be bored if he wants her to stop waiting for Ha Eun. It's her previous job, after all. "Would you mind accompanying me to the supermarket instead? I'll show you how to make a lunch?" The man does not want to blow his chance by letting her go. He wishes to spend more time with her. "All right then," she says. They go to a store to get supplies for Jae Rim's house. Without Ha Eun, Jae Rim believes they appear to be a newlywed couple, which causes his smile to never leave his face. They finished their shopping and returned with a full hand of two large plastic bags. Jae Rim initially intends to take the bag with him, but Moon Ryeong outruns him and takes the groceries instead. "It's heavy," Jae Rim tries to persuade the lady to let him bring it instead. Moon Ryeong, on the other hand, effortlessly lifts the plastic bag. She walks away as if she isn't carrying anything heavy. Jae Rim almost forgets she is a powerful vampire. She can easily throw a strong man into the air, and bringing groceries is nothing compared to that. For that, he gives himself a ridiculous smile. Moon Ryeong stuffed the groceries into the trunk of his car. She then looked at a large public television that was installed on the roof of a specific building so that people on the street would not miss any important news. She notices a hot news story about the discovery of tens of burned corpses in the mountain. The screen displays a photograph taken from the crime scene, revealing a close-up portrait of the corpse with a familiar scar on their neck. Moon Ryeong became serious right away because she recognized the scar as something very familiar to her. When Jae Rim notices her serious demeanor, he joins the lady and stands beside her. Even though he never sees it directly, he can tell from previous research that the scars on the corpse are from a vampire bite. Moon Ryeong's phone begins to ring. She pulls it out to find that Lee Sung Gi is currently calling her. She can guess why he contacted her right now; it must be related to the current case. She immediately returns his call and waits for him to speak. "Let's meet up right now." The detective skips the small talk and gets right to the point. "Sure," she replied quickly, then hung up the phone. "Are you on your way somewhere?" Jae Rim, who is watching her gesture, has a feeling about it. The lady only nodded before leaving without saying anything to him. Sung Gi and Moon Ryeong meet at a nearby restaurant and take a seat away from the other customers. The detective pulls out an envelope and takes some papers from it, revealing some information about the recent discovery of corpses. "Could you explain it to me?" Sung Gi questions her sternly. "How do I explain something I'm only seeing for the first time?" Moon Ryeong does not want to collaborate with him. "Choi Moon Ryeong, stop acting foolish. You are aware that it is a scar from a vampire bite. Helios must be the culprit." The detective is certain. Moon Ryeong fell silent for a moment, understanding that Sung Gi would be suspicious of Helios if something like this happened. She has been thinking about Helios since the first time she heard the news. But she simply cannot believe it. "Isn't that just a prejudiced? I don't believe he is the cause of it "She tries to defend Helios despite the fact that she lacks evidence to back up her assumption. "Ridiculous! I know you didn't mean it when you said you'd be the first to kill him if something like this ever happened. Even though the evidence is clear, you continue to deny it. Are you truly in love with him?" Sung Gi is irritated by her response. "How do you know he's the perpetrator? He might not be the only vampire around "She is adamant. "You could be correct, but only he is capable of such heinous behavior. If you can't believe it just by looking at the pictures, then bear with me." Sung Gi gathers all of the pictures and places them back inside the envelope. He then gets up and walks outside. Moon Ryeong takes a deep breath and comes to a halt. Then she gets up and follows the detective's traits. They drive Sung Gi's car to the Forensic Department Building. The detective intends to show Moon Ryeong genuine evidence that will help convince her. They enter the building as a group and proceed to a specific room, a morgue. Sung Gi approaches the worker and asks him to give the two of them some alone time inside. After the workers left, Sung Gi opened the cabinet, revealing tens of burned corpses inside. "Look at it with your own eyes, who do you think has the ability to do all of these things alone?" Sung Gi directs the lady to pay close attention to the corpse. Moon Ryeong is hesitant to go because she is terrified of learning the truth. She approaches the corpses slowly, one by one, and there is no doubt that the corpse was killed by a vampire based on the bitten scars on their neck. Her heart was slowly filling with doubt. Helios, on the other hand, has just received a mysterious envelope that was discovered in front of the entrance door. Areum takes the envelope and delivers it to Helios in his room. The envelope bears neither the sender's nor the recipient's name. Helios, intrigued, slowly opens the contents. His hand trembles as he looks at the pictures of Moon Ryeong and his sworn enemy, Lee Sung Gi. There are photos from their first unintentional meeting, as well as from today's event. It is demonstrated when Moon Ryeong converses with Sung Gi at a restaurant, when the two of them ride in the same car, and when they visit a Forensic Building together. Seeing all of the evidence about Moon Ryeong and Sung Gi's interaction enrages him to no end. Helios throws the envelope on the floor to vent his frustration, but it isn't enough. He then takes the lamp by the bedside and smashes it to the floor, followed by anything else he finds and throws. He takes deep breaths, his anger boiling inside his chest. "Choi Moon Ryeong... How could you possibly.. "he says, his teeth clenched. Areum, who has been silently assisting him and watching his rage, can only stand there terrified. But because he isn't looking at her, she curves a hidden smile. She is the one who observes and photographs the two vampires. She purposefully showed Helios the pictures of them in order to ruin their relationship, which is getting worse and worse. She is very eager to see everything come to an end.
