A young scientist with a square face and brown brow is currently rummaging through a laboratory. His dark brown hair is long and unkempt, with bangs that fall down and cover his brow. He's in a hurry to find anything that could be a clue for him. He then discovers an identity card that appears to be a restricted access card for Dr. Lim In Suk. The card bears a distinct logo that reads "VMP Laboratory." He has never heard of it before, so he takes his time examining the card. "Assistant Shim Changmin. What exactly are you doing here? Prof. Kang is on the lookout for you "Another person in a white scientist robe appears and carefully examines the young man. He looks at him with a suspicious smile. "Oh! I'm looking for my belongings before I'm transported away from here, hehe." Changmin smiles silly and strokes his messy hair, attempting to conceal the fact that he has been rummaging through other people's belongings. The older scientist is staring at the assistant, as if he doesn't want to believe him. Changmin is known for being careless and getting himself into a lot of trouble. That is the primary reason he has been transferred to another department. "Don't bother people in your new department," the older scientist says before leaving. As he successfully gets off the hook, the young assistant takes a deep breath. He quickly stuffed the found card into his pocket before heading to the professor's office. "Did you take care of your belongings here?" the professor inquires as he enters the room. Changmin is just nodding and smiling silly. "Don't take it personally. Your transfer is for your own benefit "says the professor calmly. Changmin understands that this is not the reason he was abruptly transferred to another department that is completely unrelated to his expertise. Despite knowing that the professor dislikes him, Changmin maintains his silly smile and acts like a fool. "Yes, thank you for everything, professor," Changmin says as he prepares to turn around and leave the office, but he comes to a halt. "Oh! I heard Dr. Lim In Suk was promoted. Is this true? Is he still a member of his new department? I no longer see him "The assistant inquired out of the blue. His question successfully paused the professor's activity. He had no idea the troublemaker would inquire about Lim In Suk in such a manner. He's always curious about things he doesn't need to know. "I believe... It is not your right to be concerned about him," says the professor sternly. Changmin's silly smile fades away. But in an instant, he grins and nods again, leaving the professor's office without saying anything. Changmin smiles as he exits the building where he works as a scientist assistant. When he gets into his car and realizes no one is looking at him, his silly smile fades from his face. He takes a serious tone. "How strange, why is it that everyone who gets promoted goes missing and doesn't even contact their family?" Changmin may appear to be speaking alone, but he is not. He is conversing with another passenger in the car. A young girl emerges from the backseat and reveals herself. She braids her hair into two parts and adds cute bangs to cover her brow. The girl leaps from the backseat to join the young assistant. She is the great granddaughter of Lee Sung Gi, Kim Min Seol. "But it's a good thing you planted a tracking device before he was transferred," Min Seol says, trying to look on the bright side. Changmin had pretended to collide with Dr Lim by accident a week before as an act of clumsiness. He then implants a supermicro tracking device on his body, allowing it to enter his pore without being detected or felt by the body's own. He had been working on a tracking device after some of the scientists in his current department were promoted and lost contact with anyone in the outside world. So, when he learned that Dr Lim was the next scientist to be promoted, he began looking for an opportunity to implant the device on him. "Many thanks for my wonderful performance." Changmin congratulates himself as he activates the tracking device. They wait patiently until a red dot appears on the screen as it loads and searches for the device signal. However, the location of the tracker causes the two of them to exchange confused glances. Meanwhile, Moon Ryeong returns to the mansion earlier than usual after her meeting with Lee Sung Gi. She has a lot of questions for Helios about the current case involving the discovery of burned tens of corpses on the mountain. When she arrives at the mansion, the sevants are still working on their designated location.Moon Ryeong goes straight upstairs with the intention of visiting Helios' room. But, before she turns towards his room, she detects Helios' scent from another direction. She has a puzzled expression on her face. Helios is currently in her private room, she senses. Without missing a beat, she rushes into her own room to confront the great vampire. When she opens the door, she notices Helios sitting alone on the counch. He enjoys a glass of animal blood and places it on the table when he notices she is present. Helios' gaze is fixed on her, but Moon Ryeong notices that he is tense and angry. While Helios stands up, she decides to approach him. "Do you have anything you'd like to discuss with me?" Moon Ryeong inquires because he does not appear to be his usual self. Instead of answering her question, Helios shattered the glass with his bare hand, causing all of the blood to spill and wet his hand. He appears in her direction at the speed of light and chokes her severely. The blood on his hand has turned her neck red. Moon Ryeong is taken aback as she experiences difficulty breathing. She frowns and stares silently into his eyes. His eyes are filled with rage, and his jaw has hardened as his grip on her neck tightens. "How many times has this happened? How many times will you betray me? "He went off on her.He feels completely betrayed. Moon Ryeong had not only betrayed him for the first time, but she had also abandoned him in the past. Even though it hurt his pride, he still wishes for her to return to his side. However, when he saw the pictures of her with Lee Sung Gi, he became enraged inside. He is in pain. Helios has been trying to give her all of his love and prioritize her happiness over his. He goes to great lengths to be the only person who stays by her side when she is at her lowest. But she cruelly slapped him in front of the human he despises yesterday, and then she met with Sung Gi behind his back. What else does he have to do to get her to look in his only direction without breaking his heart? Moon Ryeong is searching for the source of his rage when she notices photos on the table near the broken glass and splattered blood. She recognizes a photograph of herself taken with Lee Sung Gi. She now understands why Helios is upset with her. He must have believed she had betrayed him once more. "Is that correct? ... Are you the one who brutally murdered those people and burned their bodies?" Moon Ryeong asks another question instead of answering his. She could hardly breathe normally, let alone ask a question, but she did it anyway. "Do not attempt to change the subject!! Is that the scenario you devised for him?!!! Are you going to kill me with him again?" Helios screams angrily. He keeps tightening his grip on her and can see how she begins to lose all of the air in her lungs. Helios despises betrayal and has always punished those who have done so with death. She had seen it before. In the past, she may have been the only person who received his forgiveness. But now that he knows Moon Ryeong has had contact with his eternal foe, he may not want to forgive her again. His pride would not allow it. He has even killed the woman he once loved when she put his life in danger, so perhaps it is time for her to die in his hands. Moon Ryeong stares deeply into his eyes, an endless rage visible in them; he can't trust her anymore. So, rather than trying to explain herself, which would be difficult given her current state, Moon Ryeong decided to close her eyes and accept her death. She had wished to end her life and meet death. A flash of memory flashed through her mind. She closes her eyes to avoid looking into his rage, just to be reminded of his tenderness. She has no idea why, but his love confession has suddenly entered her mind. "I can't bear the thought of losing you... I love you Moon Ryeong-ah" his every word when he told her love and the way his tender yet pleading eyes begging for her to stay is such a contrast from how he looks at her right now with a lot of rage as he wants to kill her. Moon Ryeong may appear to be ready to face her death on Helios's hand as she closes her eyes, but then a tear falls from her corner eyes without her even wanting it. Why is she suddenly saddened by the fact that Helios has brought her to the brink of death by his own hand? Helios, who can see her tears, feels conflicted in his chest. He was tired of everything about her, her rejection, hatred, and betrayal. He takes out his other hand and uses both of his hands to choke Moon Ryeong. He wishes to put an end to everything. He doesn't want to experience any more pain. As a result, he strangles her even more tightly. But then he recalls her words. "And if I became a threat to your life in the future, you would kill me without hesitation," her words became a burden in his chest. Is he truly someone who would do the same cruel thing again and end up killing the person he loves with his own hands? After being reminded by her previous words, he lost all of his strength in his hand. He slowly released her neck, causing Moon Ryeong to fall to the ground. Moon Ryeong feared that this was the end. But then she could breathe again, which perplexed her. When she opened her eyes, Helios was still standing in front of her. His rage has vanished, replaced by tears streaming down his cheeks. His lip trembles as he tries to keep the explosive feelings in his chest at bay. Moon Ryeong's eyes well up with tears as she watches him look so vulnerable. They are both silently crying and looking at each other. She has no idea what just happened, but she has decided to sit on the couch. Helios walked away to get a blanket from the bed, then wrapped it around her body to keep her warm. The great vampire then took a seat on the floor instead of the counch and remained close to her. Helios takes Moon Ryeong's hand in both of his and grips it tightly. He then placed his chin on her lap. They steal a moment of that tenderness without saying anything. "Moon Ryeong-ah... I feel betrayed and hurt. My raging rage told me to break your neck so you wouldn't cause me any more betrayal pain... But... I'm not capable of doing so "He says in a deep low voice, trying to conceal his face from her. "On the mountain, there was a discovery of burned corpses that had been bitten by vampires..." Moon Ryeong finally informs him of the news. Helios raises his head and looks her in the eyes. "Lee Sung Gi has asked to meet with me to discuss this matter. It's difficult for him not to suspect you as the perpetrator. While our first meeting was purely coincidental, "He no longer inquires about it, but Moon Ryeong explains it anyway. "So, how about you? You must believe I was the one who murdered them, don't you? "With a sour expression, he asks her. Moon Ryeong takes a deep breath and does not respond right away. "It is understandable if you think so," he continues, unable to bear her honest responses. "I tried to persuade him that you are not the perpetrator... but I don't have any proof." Her responses indicate that she trusts him and believes he is not the one who killed them. He looks at her with disbelief; does she really believe him for that? "I apologize for getting the wrong idea and hurting you in this way," he now feels guilty for attacking her when she tried to defend him in front of Lee Sung Gi. As a result of his guilt, he grips her hand even tighter. Moon Ryeong sighs deeply as she lifts her other hand and caresses his cheek, recalling the previous incident between them. "Thank you for taking care of me when I'm down... and I... I'm sorry I slapped you before," she says, feeling guilty about what she had done to him. Helios should be pleased that she has expressed gratitude and apologized to him for everything. However, something has become a heavy burden in his chest. Moon Ryeong has never shown such open tenderness to him before, and he is afraid that it is the last time. As a result, he removes Moon Ryeong's hand from his cheek and places it on his hair. He rested his head on her lap once more. "I swear I'll never kill another innocent person in your name again.... That is why please... You will never betray me again "He snuggles in even closer, avoiding eye contact with her. Moon Ryeong finds it difficult to respond to him and promise to do whatever he wishes from her. She can't even be sure of herself, so how can she promise him that? She went silent. Then she stroked his hair slowly. Helios bites his upper lip and closes his eyes tightly in response to her gestures. They didn't say anything else.

Pretence often creates distance between people and reality. While it can serve a purpose—like protecting feelings or navigating social situations—over time, it tends to erode trust and authenticity. Genuine connection usually thrives in honesty.
