Becoming A Wind

Areum is on her way to the kitchen to get a drink; she has been working tirelessly to prepare the mistress's special meal in the order of Helios, but Moon Ryeong continues to refuse to eat. It gets to her nerves, why does Helios insist on taking care of her when she lacks the spirit to live properly. Wouldn't it be better if the lady vanished from the face of the earth? She considers putting poison on her, but Helios would discover it immediately, resulting in her own untimely death, so she never does.
The young girl abruptly came to a halt in the hallway. Helios is standing tall near the entrance door, choking a man and lifting his body into the air. It frightens the maid because Helios is a cruel creature who can easily kill anyone he wants to please himself. If she ever offended him in any way, she might be the next person to die horribly at his hands.
The young maid attempts to get a better look at the man who is struggling to free himself from Helios' strangulation. When she recognizes the man, her eyes immediately widen. He is Song Jae Rim, a human who is currently involved in a romantic relationship with their mistress. If Moon Ryeong discovers that Helios has placed his hand on him, endangering his life, she will undoubtedly become enraged, resulting in a fight between the two vampires.
Areum raised her hand to close her mouth, afraid that she would make a noise in the midst of the huge tense situation that was taking place right now. She smiles as she considers Moon Ryeong's reaction to Helios' actions. For better or worse, she hopes the mistress will flee the mansion as a result of her raging flame. As a result, the young maid decides to wait and watch the spectacular show from a safe distance.
"You are.... uhuk! Aren't you the one..... who kidnapped my daughter... at school?" Jae Rim gradually recognizes Helios' face. He recalls seeing his face on CCTV footage when Ha Eun went missing previously. It is now clear how Ha Eun came to be with Moon Ryeong. The abductor is a vampire who lives with the lady.
"Oh, Song Ha Eun? Yes, that's me. Don't worry about her; I'll send her to your side as soon as you die in my hands." Helios strangles him even more tightly, turning Jae Rim's face purple as he begins to lose all of the air in his body. The man attempts to fight back and get Helios' hand off his neck. But his human strength is insufficient to combat the cruel vampire's strength. Even breaking his neck right now would be a piece of cake for the vampire.
"How dare you put your disgusting mouth on Moon Ryeong! She is entirely mine!!! I would certainly make you pay for your disregard for what belongs to me... Die!!!!" Helios raises Jae Rim's body even higher, causing his feet to lose their footing on the ground. Jae Rim feels hopeless; it appears that he must face his death right now.
"Helios!!!" screams Moon Ryeong, filling the air. When she discovers what Helios has been doing to Jae Rim, she screams in rage.
Helios slowly turns around to face the source of the voice, Moon Ryeong, who is currently standing at the top of the stairs. She is staring at him with a blazing rage in her eyes. Helios despises seeing that. She's always looking at him with rage and hatred, and it's all because of the human he's holding right now.
"What exactly are you doing? Let him go!!" Moon Ryeong issues a firm command to Helios. Helios shifts his gaze to Jae Rim, who is barely breathing and refuses to listen to Moon Ryeong. He despises it even more when she has to defend a human in front of him. He tilts his head, enjoying the sensation of putting the human he despises to death.
"I said let him go!!!!" The raging voice of Moon Ryeong filled the air. Helios gritted his teeth and threw Jae Rim away to let him go.
Song Jae Rim is launched into the air and collides with a dinning table in the side room. He winced in pain from the effect, feeling as if his ribs were broken by the powerful crash that occurred. He coughs violently as a result of the strangulation.
Moon Ryeong became enraged after witnessing Helios severely injure Jae Rim. She approaches Helios at the speed of light before raising her hand in the air.
"PLAAKK!!!!" she slaps the cruel vampire so hard that Helios feels a sting on his cheek. Her sharp finger successfully ripped his cheek skin and caused it to bleed.
Helios is taken aback by her actions; she has been extremely quiet for days, and he is the one who is responsible for her care for the time being. Song Jae Rim is the cause of her depression on those days! But why does she continue to defend Jae Rim rather than support him? Furthermore, she is now destroying his pride in front of Jae Rim. It was excruciatingly painful for him.
Areum, who has been watching silently from a safe distance, is taken aback when Moon Ryeong appears and slaps Helios like that. She notices Helios's expression, which is clearly hurt and humiliated. His jaw has become hardened.
Helios slowly shifts his gaze to Moon Ryeong. The petite lady is still standing tall and looking at him with remorse.
"Why?!!" Helios grabs her hand, questioning her actions toward him. His voice rang out.
"I warned you not to hurt him or anyone else ever again!" She responds to him without fear.
"That person... He harmed you and put you down for days! Instead, you should become enraged and slap him. Why?! Why is it always just me that you absolutely loathe?!!" Helios simply cannot accept it. He grabs her hand and pulls her in close. His eyes were filled with rage and pain at the same time. Moon Ryeong jerks her hand away from him.
"You never change," she says, her teeth clenched. She then turned around and approached Jae Rim, who was still crouching and coughing heavily. She took a knee in front of him. Moon Ryeong notices that he is in poor condition right now.
"Why are you even here?" she sympathizes.
"I apologize... uhuk... After everything, I shouldn't drive you away "The man has difficulty speaking. Moon Ryeong takes a deep breath. She then helps him stand up and plans to transport him away from the mansion.
"Kajima (Please do not leave)" When Moon Ryeong and Jae Rim are almost through the entrace door, Helios' deep voice can be heard. His voice could have stopped her, but she continued to walk away.
Helios is staring at now empty entrace's door with a teary eyes, a drop of tears rolling down his cheek. He immediately looked up, hoping not to cry. He can't cry for this, no matter how much it hurts him. He tries to calm himself down by taking deep breaths.
Areum, on the other hand, has been watching every detail of the incident and is now staring at Helios silently from a distance. Even so, she can see his expression clearly, and he is doing his best to hold back his tears. She doesn't understand him at all. Moon Ryeong had repeatedly pushed him away and hurt him. He should know by now that putting his hope in her will only lead to his own misery, but why doesn't he stop when all he can do is get hurt while watching her on the other man's side?
A warm liquid slowly settled on her eyes, causing the maid to cry quietly. Instead of Helios, she breaks down in tears. She feels sorry for him and longs to embrace him. Why does a cruel vampire like him have a vulnerable side to love someone who will only bring him misery? It gives Areum a heartbreaking sensation in her chest. He is truly pitiful.
Meanwhile, Jae Rim is being treated in a hospital. His ribs have been fractured, as he predicted. The doctor advises him to rest for at least six weeks in order to fully recover. He exits the doctor's room after finishing all of the treatments to find Moon Ryeong waiting for him outside. She is the one who escorts him to the hospital.
They go to the hospital's roof and now sit silently side by side. They're not sure how to start a conversation; where should they begin? As a result, they are just sitting awkwardly.
"Did you sustain any serious injuries?" Moon Ryeong is the one who speaks up and inquires about his condition.
"Don't worry, the doctor said that a fractured rib can heal on its own; all I need to do is take a pain reliever and watch my diet." Jae Rim, as usual, applied his cheerful demeanor when dealing with a problem.
There was another pause between them....
"Moon Ryeong-ssi... I apologize for my previous behavior... Whoever you are, I shouldn't be so harsh on you when all you did was save me and Ha Eun... You never once harmed us..." Finally, the chairman apologized properly to her. Moon Ryeong takes a deep breath before staring silently at the night sky.
"Is it really that difficult for a human to accept a vampire's existence?" she asks without looking at him, her gaze sad. Her question caused Jae Rim to lower his gaze.
"To be honest, it's terrifying to realize that there's another creature among us that can easily kill us and drink our blood. I personally have never believed that vampires exist, even though I have seen them with my own eyes... I still want to deny that... Because I'm afraid..." Jae Rim responds to Moon Ryeong's question.
"It still gives me goosebumps thinking about how I nearly died at the hands of a powerful vampire without being able to fight for my life. It's as if I'm hopeless and must accept my death even though I don't want to "He goes on to tell her about his new near-death experiment in Helios' hands.
"But... I guess you're exceptional... I believe you would not do anything to endanger everyone, despite the fact that you are more than capable of doing so..." Jae Rim finally turned to face Moon Ryeong, the lady looking at him and staring.
"You have no idea how many times I nearly killed you when I lost control and wanted to bite you. It happened twice, once in Paris and once when we were almost kissing that night "She makes the decision to be truthful with him. After all, she has nothing to hide from him. She wants Jae Rim to be concerned about her form so that he will take a step back and leave her life. She doesn't want to put him or Ha Eun in danger with her present.
"However, you didn't..." In contrast to her wish, Jae Rim simply accepts her confession lightly. He is also smiling and looking at her tenderly.
Jae Rim shifted his seat so that his upper body could fully face her. He slowly takes her hands in his and grasps them tightly.
"Moon Ryeong-ssi... I'm in love with you... It began as curiosity the first time we met, but as time passed, you were able to make me feel a stronger feeling and attachment to you, to the point where I really wanted to stay close by your side... This is why... I'll accept you for who you are and put my trust in you... Do you want to give me the opportunity?" Jae Rim makes his first love confession to the lady.
Moon Ryeong, on the other hand, is taken aback by his confession; only a few days ago, she was devastated when he rejected her true identity. But now the man tells her that he loves her. So, what should she do next?
Meanwhile, Helios is now sitting on the side of his bed in his private room, after Moon Ryeong has left. He takes a rectangle box from the table cabinet beside the bed. He looks at the box for a moment before opening it slowly.
Within the box is a wooden knife that he has kept for three centuries. He never imagined a time when he would want to pull out the knife again. The knife is made of sunsa wood, and it is the only knife capable of killing a vampire when stabbed through the heart. Helios takes the knife from the box and looks at it with mixed emotions.

Pretence often creates distance between people and reality. While it can serve a purpose—like protecting feelings or navigating social situations—over time, it tends to erode trust and authenticity. Genuine connection usually thrives in honesty.
