As we stayed silently in that position, memories of last year's new year filled my thoughts.
I could remember vividly how I had to stay up all night cleaning up the house and preparing food for the whole family.
I was given the responsibility of decorating all the rooms and corridors all except mine though.
I didn't even have the time to wish or even think of anything else as I was completely occupied with work.
And even when the clock struck midnight I was still working.
It wasn't until my little brother Tinu came over to hug and wish me a happy New year did I realize that we had crossover to the new year.
I could still remember my little Brother's encouraging words on how the new year will bring happiness and joy to me.
Then, I simply laughed it off inwardly as I didn't believe it was going to be better.
All in all, I only hoped it wouldn't get worse.
Somehow then, I had stopped hoping things would turn out for the better.
So I didn't take his words to heart.
But come to think of it, his words did come true, didn't it?
Though it was a little later, it somehow came true at the end of the day.
At the beginning of the year, I was filled with sadness and was Depressed.
At the middle of the year, I was completely lost to depression and anxiety.
And close to the ending of the year, I made the wrong decision of ending my own life.
I must say, that's one of the worst decisions I made and I'll never cease to remember just how I felt that day.
The day I made the decision to take my own life.
It hurts then, I couldn't look up at any future then but I could now.
Yeah...I can.
Little Tinu, somehow I find myself remembering him.
He was one of the best things that happened to me.
He was young, smart, caring and so loving.
I can't deny the fact that I miss him... I really do.
And, I can't help but wonder where he is at present and if he's happy where he is...
I really wish I could see him someday.
" Little Tinu would also like to meet you someday, Sis... " Brother's voice cut through my thoughts.
Breaking the hug, I turned to face him in shock, " You... How do you know what I am thinking about? "
" Well... It isn't that hard to get, is it? "
" Ah! You better start telling me how you knew what I was thinking of now! " I said, crossing my hands on my chest.
" And what if I don't? " He smirked.
" Then I'll conclude that you are an evil wizard who intrudes people's minds and reads their thoughts! " I stated clearly.
" Hahaha..... Your words are hilarious, sis. Wizard? How could you have concluded it that way? "
" What did you expect me to think since you can read me like an open book? "
" That's because you are indeed an open book. Very easy to read. " He smiled.
His words only aggregated me further, " You... I am not an open book! So don't you dare call me that! " I warned him.
" Okay, okay. You win. You are not an open book. " He said, raising his hands in surrender.
" That's better. So tell me, how come you know what I am thinking? And Don't you dare tell me it's just a guess. "
" Well... The reason is pretty obvious. As it's new year, you'd probably be thinking about your life in the past year and as, little Tinu was the only one who was nice to you then. You are more likely to think about him and want to see him again, so... " He explained seriously.
" Oh... I indeed wish to see Little Tinu once again. " I said slowly.
" Um... I know... You'll be able to see him soon ..this I can assure you. "
" How could you be so sure? Don't tell me..?"
" Don't let your imagination run too wild. I only said you'll see him again, not that I'll go and kidnap him, alright? "
" Whatever... " I replied indifferently.
" Happy new year once again, Sis! " He said with a smile.
" Happy new year to you too! " I Smiled back
" Um... Let's head inside to greet the rest. "
" Oh... Let's go. " I said standing up along with him and soon we were walking hand in hand to the main house.
