Contrary to what I was expecting, as soon as we reached the main house I realized that the whole house was well lit up with candles and lightning.
And also, everyone living in the house was awake, including the little puppy.
As we walked around the house searching for Aunt Naomi and the others, the maids who passed by us just kept wishing us a happy new year.
" A very happy new year to you, miss Sushi! " One of my personal maids who had become my friend greeted me with a big smile on her face.
" Happy new year to you too, Sis Sonia! " I replied.
" Thanks, miss Sushi! '' She said with a bow.
" Hm. "
We kept encountering lots of maids until we finally saw Aunt Naomi at the dining table.
Immediately she sighted us, She ran towards us and hugged us both lovingly at the same time.
" A very happy new year to you both! " She said with a big smile hanging on her lips.
" Happy new year to you too, Aunt Naomi! " I said, embracing her.
" Aw... That's so sweet. "
" Wishing you a year full of happiness and joy, Na! " Brother said as he embraced her.
" Oh, Aw.. you both are so sweet. Thank you! I also wish you both a year filled up with all-round success, happiness and joy! "

Then, I saw assistant Kevin approaching us.
" Happy new year, Little Sushie! " He greeted me as he embraced me.
" Happy new year to you too, Assistant Kev! " I replied.
" Hehehe... Thanks. "
" I never thought you would stay here too... "
" Well... He does sometimes. It's just that you don't pay attention. " Brother said.
" Oh... I guess I'll have to pay more attention to things in the future then. "

" Happy new year, House mates! " Aunt Naomi's husband said as he approached us all with a big smile.

After the New Year's wishes and prayers, I went back to my room to take a bath and wore a dress that I haven't worn before. Then I went downstairs for what I'll call midnight Snacks.
When I thought I would be the only one there, I was surprised to realize that others were also present at the dining table looking refreshed.
" Oh wow! I actually thought I was the only one! " I couldn't help but say.
" You are never alone. " Brother said. Though it was just an answer, I could decipher that the words held a much deeper meaning than it looked.
" Well... This is how we celebrate New year's. The only difference is that this celebration is more blissful and happy than the previous ones. All thanks to you. " Aunt Naomi said.
" Aw... That's one of the best things I have heard in years.... I am glad to hear that. " I blushed.
" It's obvious that you are, from your expression already. " She said.
" I guess so... " I giggled.

" Is this, Papaya, Aunt Naomi? " I couldn't help but ask as I stared at the orangish sliced fruit.
As it was midnight, we weren't eating anything heavy.
The midnight snack consisted of Macaroni salads, Fruit Salads, Barbecues and Some Beverages.
" It is. You should try it, it's very delicious. "
" Oh... " I took a bite of the minced Papaya. " It's very delicious, Aunt Naomi! I love it! " I couldn't help but exclaim as I ate it.
" Told ya! You should try out the strawberries and blueberries too. " She said and I did.
She was right in her choice as all the fruits tasted amazing!
And before I knew it, I had consumed a full plate of minced fruits.
If not for my brother's reminder I would have gone for a second plate.
I guess I had forgotten that I still had to go back to bed later and shouldn't eat too much.
Anyways, I was thankful for the timely reminder.
I went back to bed at 3am after watching a new year movie with the rest.
Perhaps it's due to how exhausted I was earlier that I only got to wake up at 10am later on.
Well... It's not like I had much to do anyways, so...
Dr Jasmine along with brother's friends arrived at noon to celebrate New year's with us.
We had a food feast I must say.
There were more varieties of deserts than I have ever seen.
I had a lot of fun trying out new dishes and wines.
I didn't realize just how much was spent on the wine alone until Assistant Kev accidentally blurted it out.
To say I was stunned would be an understatement when I realized that each bottle of wine we had costs $200. And we actually had 20 bottles in total.
It was totally unbelievable for me to realize just how much money was spent on a new year celebration.
Anyways, I would never be able to understand just how wealthy people spend their money.
After dinner, we watched a variety of movies and played different games.
In a nutshell I'll say that the new year was an unforgettable day for md.!
I really enjoyed the celebration and I'll never be able to forget just how much fun I had!
I just hope things continue to go well... Like this.
But well... Is life always smooth sailing? I couldn't help but wonder.
