CHAPTER 13

CONTANCE’S POV
"I didn't want to leave Ivy then. I was just afraid that my parents might take away my inheritance. I also didn't know she was pregnant. If I only knew ... I hope she's still alive right now," I said with low spirit.
"It's all too late, Constance."
"It’s not too late, Yvo. I can still do something for my child. I asked someone to investigate so I found out that your name is Yvo Heneroso. I'm not surprised that you know me because Ivy is your friend. I'm amazed that you managed to hide my daughter and run away from us. But I'm sorry because I have to take her now. " I would do everything for my daughter once I got her back.

"Mom, it took you so long to go inside." My little princess smiled at us just a few steps away from our seat.

"Darling–" Yvo wasn’t able to finish what she’s about to say because I talked.

"My princess!" I sounded that I really missed her before running to hug her.
I just felt sad when she didn’t hug me back, but I understood. "I'll take you home with us."
"Mom, who is he?" my daughter asked in astonishment. Sorry, my princess. I didn't like what happened to your mommy.

"I'm your daddy," I said after Yvo didn't answer my child. Then, I realized that my tears were dripping because of too much joy and at the same time, because of sadness. If only Ivy was with us, our family would be complete. "I've been looking for you for a long time, Vyvyan, my little princess."

"He's daddy?" she asked Yvo again.

Yvo just nodded because it seemed that she couldn’t voice out what she was going to say. I would not change my mind; I would take my daughter home.

"I'm your daddy and we're going back to your real home," I told her with a smile while there were still a few tears running down my eyes.

"I can't leave mama, Tito Tary, Tita Lavender, Tito Elton, and Manang Reylyn. Magdalen will stay here. Magdalen will not leave." I was impressed by my little princess because she was fluent in speaking even though she was that age. She’s really an Artiles.

"Your life shouldn't be like this, so I'll take you home. I know what's good for you. I'll buy you lots and lots of toys. Do you want that?"

"I want to. But let's take my mom with us," she said with a smile. But Yvo could not come with us because she would only mess with my family.

"Your mama can't be with you, my princess. She still has to do something here at your Tito Tary's house. Am I right, Yvo?"

The look I threw at Yvo was meaningful causing her to nod again. I could have put her in jail because she hid my daughter. She had no right to Vyvyan.

"Darling, you go with them first. I promise you I'll follow." She tried to smile but I could clearly see the sadness in her eyes.

Vyvyan suddenly ran closer to Yvo. "No, mama. I won't come when you don't come."

Yvo softly touched my little princess' cheek before she said, "I'll follow, so don't worry. Your Tito Tary will take me there. You'll take me there, won't you, Tary?"

"I'll take your mom there, Magdalen. Come with them," Tary gently said. I hoped my daughter would listen to him. I hoped.

"I should be with mama," my daughter insisted. I thought that when I found her, it would be easy for me to bring her home to Manila. It's still difficult. Well, she couldn't really leave the mother she knew.

"Alright, we'll take your mom with us tomorrow." I unwantedly scratched my head after I spoke, hoping everything would go well.

"Yehey! My mom is coming with us. I'll tell Manang Reylyn that my mom is coming with us." Then, my daughter left us because she suddenly ran away. She would probably go to the “Manang Reylyn” she’s talking about.

"Now that your child is no longer in front of us, tell her what will happen, honey. Maybe that woman will have the illusion that we will actually take her with us," Meyra said while smiling.

"Yvo, we can't bring you because my daughter will just have a hard time forgetting you when she still sees you all the time."

"She doesn't have to forget me. I can't understand why she has to forget me. You want her to forget me? I'm sorry but she will only remember me more. You can't erase me from her life. Do you know you're ungrateful, Constance? Do you think your daughter could live if Ivy didn't entrust her to me? Do you think she would have grown up like that if I didn't take care of her? "Alright, don't take me with you, so that Magdalen won't come with you either."

"I'll sue you, Yvo. I'll put you in jail," I threatened her.

"I'm not afraid. I'm more afraid of not being able to watch over Magdalen. I'm telling you right away that I don't trust the woman you are with. I can't entrust Magdalen that easy to the two of you. Ivy entrusted her to me and I won’t let what you want to happen."
"You don't trust me. Tsk. As if I'm affected by what you said. You just want to come because you're a gold digger. You're going to use Vyvyan to get some money from Constance. Are you really that desperate, huh?" Meyra could be easily mad and that's one of the things I disliked about her.

"Just wait. I'll just laugh for a moment." She laughed sarcastically. "You know you're really funny, Meyra. HAHAHA! The word 'gold digger' really came from you, ah. You’re probably what you think. I just don't want to talk."

"How dare yo–"

"Don't talk anymore because it's not necessary, Meyra! You have lots of advertisements that are pure nonsense. Now, Constance, what is your decision? Will you take me with you so you can be with your daughter or leave me but Magdalen won't come with you? I can also say everything you said a few minutes ago to her. Remember that she will still believe me because she grew up with me, I raised her. Don't try me because I won’t let you erase me from your daughter’s life especially now that I finally met you both. I really don't trust this woman with you."

I didn't know why she was so suspicious of my fiancée. But I couldn't blame her because she didn't know Meyra.

"We'll let you come with us. You'll live where Vyvyan will live. But you should tell her that her real name is 'Vyvyan' and not 'Magdalen' because that's the truth."

"Alright, I'll do that. But you should also make sure that my daughter will never cry with your parenting because I won't hesitate to take her away from you again. Don't try me, Constance."

"I don't want to promise anything. Let's end this conversation here. We'll be back tomorrow morning. You can run away as long as you leave my daughter here."

"In your dreams."

I just shook my head when I remembered the conversation I had with Yvo. That woman was really brave.

"Dude, are you really leaving? Maybe you want to stay longer? There are many beautiful beaches here in Coron. Take your daughter for a walk first," Tary said.

We were in a cottage just in front of Tary's house, I was waiting for my daughter and Yvo because they were still fixing something inside. We're not really leaving yet. "We will visit this place next time, dude. Vyvyan's grandparents are eager to see her, so they're really excited to see us home. Thank you for taking care of them, dude!"

"You're welcome, dude. Yvo is also important to me, so I didn't hesitate to let them stay in my house."

"Is she a good person?" I just suddenly asked. I was not surprised by what he said because he also mentioned that his ex-girlfriend was Yvo. But I was curious on what kind of woman she was.

"Why did you ask?" He laughed slightly after he spoke.

"Nothing. I just want to know. I need to deal with her as we live in the same house." I didn’t want to admit to him that I was just curious.

"She's a good person. She loves your daughter very much. If you think she's a gold digger, then you're wrong. Her love for your daughter is pure. When we separated, your daughter probably became her life that’s why she insisted that way just to be with Magdalen. They are solid so it'll be really hard for you to separate them in case you're really planning to. "

"I'm happy to hear that," I sincerely said. "I will do everything for my daughter so if I need to be with that woman, then I will do that. I have heard enough from you to trust her temporarily. Thank you again, dude. I hope I'll see you again in Manila. "

"Welcome. Take care of them. Take care of Yvo for me." He still cared for his ex-girlfriend and I was fortunate that I had witnessed it.

"I will, don't worry."

"Constance, can Tary and I talk for a moment before we leave?" Yvo was far away but she spoke right away which caused Tary and I to stop talking.

"Sure. I'll go inside to see my daughter."

"No. There's no need. You don’t need to do that. This will be quick. You can just stay there."

"Okay." I let it be instead of talking to her. She seemed fine even if I would hear what she had to say to Tary.

"Thank you for everything, Tary. I've said goodbye to Lavender and to the others who are here at your house, I'll miss you all. Take care of Lavender, ah. She loves you so much even if she’s not kind sometimes. Take care of yourself. Always be careful. We're not fully okay yet but I'm glad we met again." Yvo smiled at Tary before hugging him.

Although Tary was a bit surprised, he hugged her back as well. "You're welcome. Still, I'm sorry. You already know that. Take care of yourself."

"I'll take care, don't worry. My daughter still needs me so I really need to be careful. Oh, bye." Then, they distanced themselves from each other after that conversation.

"Constance, let's go. We're ready. Magdalen is excited to go home," Yvo said with a smile on her face before finally going back to Tary's house.
I was just speechless and shook my head. I looked at her and thought, "Could I live in the same roof with this woman? D*mn!"
