CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Myla walked behind Ares still in shock about what happened. Who the hell was that man? She was too curious now.
Just then, Ares abruptly stopped and she mistakenly bumped into his back. She groaned as she rubbed her forehead. What was he made of? Rocks?
Ares turned to her with a tilt of his head.
“There’s no way you would have gone that way if someone hadn’t directed you there. Tell me who did it, now” He said calmly but his eyes told her clearly that he was in no mood for games.
Myla glanced at all the maids that were staring at her with wide eyes except the girl that directed her there. The girl was staring back at her with deep hatred and Myla couldn’t help but wonder why. She hadn’t done anything to anyone yet and if she were to tell Ares that it was this girl that sent her there, she would just garner more hate and she didn’t want that. She turned to Ares and shook her head.
“No one sent me there, I genuinely got lost” Ares narrowed his eyes on her then he scoffed.
“You know little slave, if there’s one thing I hate more that humans, it’s lying humans. I can see right through you and it makes my skin crawl that you’re lying to me right now. Point out the person or I’m going to start killing all of them one by one” All the maids gasped and immediately fell to their knees as they begged Ares for mercy but he just stood there staring into Myla’s shocked eyes.
“You wouldn’t” She said softly but in her heart she knew he could and he proved that to her by grabbing one of the maids neck and snapping it off in front of her.
The maids all screamed in horror as he dropped the dead maid to the ground and her blood dipped out from under her.
“You were saying? And don’t you dare tell me the maid I just killed was the one who directed you there because that would just make me angry” Myla was about to say something when the girl who had sent her down there, stood up.
“It was me, I was the one who sent her down there, Alpha king” Ares turned to the girl and shook his head.
“Samantha, I never thought I’d see the day where you would actually get on my nerves” Samantha raised up her head and stared at him with pleading eyes.
“I just wanted to….”
“I didn’t ask you for an explanation neither do I care why you did it. Guards!!” Just then, done men in armor came running towards them and bowed their head at Ares.
“Get this maid out to the beating ground and have her whipped two hundred times” Myla turned to him with wide eyes.
“That’s too much, why are you doing this?” But Ares didn’t even glance at her.
“Why are you still standing here? Take her away!” The guards nodded then grabbed on to Samantha and dragged her away. She didn’t scream nor beg for forgiveness, she just kept staring at Myla with and intent Myla couldn’t identify.
“Get someone to clean this up, you’re all dismissed as well” Ares muttered before crossing over the dead body and walking away.
Myla stared down at the body in utter dismay. She didn’t know why but she had actually start to think that Ares wasn’t as bad as she had grown up to believe but he was much worse, he really was a monster.
“I’m not going to wait for you all day long, Little slave” He muttered without turning to her. Myla sighed before following behind him and occasionally turned back to see them cleaning up the blood from the floor. She shook her head as she turned back to face Ares' back. She needed to get rid of him… fast.

As soon as they walked into Ares' room, he groaned.
“I still didn't get something to drink" He grumbled as he took off his coat and majestically sat down on the chair. He turned to Myla and noticed she was staring at him with some kind of intent in her eyes and couldn't put a name on it.
“Why are you just standing there? Take a seat or better yet, take a nap. We are not leaving this room anytime soon" Myla shook her head.
“I'm okay with standing" He tilted his head at her then shrugged.
“If you say so" Ares sighed as he leaned back into the chair and closed his eyes. He was very tired and just wanted to get some shut eye.
“Why do I have to stay in this room with you? I'm a slave, a slave isn't supposed to stay in the same room as it's master" Ares' eyes opened slowly as soon as he heard Myla's low voice.
Myla knew if she wanted to kill Ares, it was better to be close to him at all times but she couldn't even look at him right now without wanting to punch him in the face.
“You are my slave, you need to be with me at all time" Myla turned to him.
“Why did you let the other humans you bought as slave go free but I'm still here?" Ares raised up his head and their eyes locked. They looked into each other's eyes for a while because none of them wanted to be the first to break eye contacts. Suddenly, Ares smirked then stood up from his chair.
“Little slave, why are you always curious? Well, since you want to know, I might as well tell you then, right?" She furrowed her eyes at him. What was he going on about?
Ares moved closer to her and Myla subconsciously took steps backwards till her back touched the wall and she had nowhere else to go.
Ares stalked towards her and she could swear she saw the devil at some point. He walked closer to her and used his index finger to lift up her face.
Myla could see something in his eyes but because one of his eyes was covered with an eye patch, it was kind of hard to read but she could have sworn she saw…. Desire?
“Little slave, do not think of me as anything else but a monster because that's what I am. If you had the slightest idea of the things I wanted to do to you, you would have taken a knife and stabbed it straight into my heart"......Download Novelah App
