CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Myla choked on her spit and immediately started coughing.
“That coughing isn’t going to get you away from doing what I asked, Little slave” Myla gritted her teeth.
“I can’t do that, Sir” Ares tilted his head at her.
“And why is that, little slave? Aren't these little things what I bought you for?” Myla bit her lip which made Ares growl.
“Don’t ever do that in front of me, Little slave unless you want to see how monstrous I can get” He murmured which sent chills down her spine. She got over her initial reaction and stared at him with confusion. What should she never do? Defy him? Before she could ask him, he moved away from her and walked towards the closet.
“Get me something to drink, little slave and return back here immediately” Myla nodded and quickly ran out of the room with a sigh of relief. That guy almost gave her a heart attack.
As she walked around in search of the kitchen, she noticed that the maids were all looking at her weirdly with judging eyes. She decided to ignore them though because confrontation was going to do her no good but who could she ask for directions?
Just then, she saw a girl who didn’t seem to care about her existence and she looked kind enough. She walked up to her and tapped her shoulder.
“Hey, can you please tell me where the kitchen is?” The girl turned to her and stared at her for too long that it started to make Myla uncomfortable.
“Can you please tell me where is it? I’m in a hurry” The girl suddenly smirked.
“Sure. Go down the stairs and take the path to your left. You should see the kitchen almost instantly” Myla heard gasps behind her but she just felt like it was because the girl answered her and she smiled.
“Thank you” Then she walked away.

One of the maids walked up to the girl.
“Why did you send her that way? That’s not the way to the kitchen! You’re going to get her killed” The girl smirked.
“This is just a reminder for her to know her place. Did I do something wrong? Get back to work” Then she walked away.
~
Myla walked down the staircase and was glad when no one came up to her or asked her where she was going because she didn’t feel like explaining herself to anyone.
She got to the end of the stairs and took a left turn like the girl had instructed but she felt like something wasn’t right. No one but her was walking through that pathway and if it was the pathway to the kitchen, people had to be around, right?
She silently cursed Ares in her head. Why would he send her such a message when she didn’t know her way around yet.
“Maybe I should just turn around” She muttered and was about to turn around when a hand landed on her shoulder. Her hunter instinct immediately kicked in. She swatted away the hand and turned around to kick his head when she noticed how frightening the man was. He stared dead into her eyes like he would kill her if she tried anything stupid.
She slowly put down her leg and moved backwards.
“I’m sorry, someone told me this…”

“What is a human doing down here?!” The man boomed and Myla immediately began to feel scared. Ares definitely looked scarier than this man but why was she scared of him?
“I’ll be on my way now” She turned around to walk away but the men grabbed her hand.
“I can smell your blood human and I have to say, it smells delicious. Can I have a little taste?” Myla immediately froze. Did this man actually want to eat her or was he just a vampire? Was she going to have to fight him? That was going to blow her cover and destroy the main purpose of her being here in the first place but she couldn’t die at a wolf’s mercy, they were all supposed to die at her feet.
Before she could say anything, she heard his voice loud and clear from the entrance of the pathway.
“Little slave, what are you doing here?” Myla felt the men immediately let go of her.
“Ares? Is this your slave?” Ares didn’t bother answering him.
“Come here” He said to Myla and she immediately moved closer to him.
“I asked you to get me something to drink, why are you here?” Myla scratched the back of her neck.
“Someone told me this was where the kitchen was” Ares clenched his jaw then turned to the man.

“We’ll be leaving now, Marcel,” Marcel smirked at him.
“Since when do you keep human slave beside you? You usually set them free right after you buy them so what changed?” Myla turned to Ares with wide eyes. He used to set the human slaves free? Why?

“I don’t think I have to explain myself to you, Marcelo. Crawl back into the hole you came from. Let’s go, Little slave” Myla glanced back at the men before following behind Ares.
“It was stupid for me to send you out on your own in the first place when I know how dangerous it can be for a human in this house” Myla heard Ares mutter.
“Then why did you send me out in the first place?” She immediately slapped her hand over her mouth with wide eyes as soon as those words left her mouth. Ares halted in his steps then turned back to her with a tilt of his head.
“Do you really want to know why little slave? It was because I was this close to having my way with you and I don’t like the feeling of knowing I’m forcing things so I’ll wait till you come begging me to make love with you” Myla’s eyes widened. She wanted to yell “in his dreams!” But he had already walked away.
She huffed. Never had she ever met someone like him before in her life…..
