CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

“You don't have to come with me, Cornelius. I'll be fine on my own" Cornelius scoffed.
“Do you think I care about your wellbeing? If it were up to me, I would have fed you to the lycans but I know Ares would be mad at me. I have no idea why he cares for you" Myla paused.
“He doesn't care for me, he just sees me as a…. Pet" Cornelius rolled his eyes.
“Whatever," Myla sighed. How the hell was she going to get rid of Cornelius now?
She looked up and glanced at the rooftops and couldn't see Noah and Luane anymore. She was about to panic, thinking they were coming to meet her, when she spotted them in the shadows.
“We have got a message from your mother" Noah mouthed. She nodded and gave him an okay sign before turning back to Cornelius.
“Erm…. I really need to pee now" Cornelius stopped walking and turned to her.
“You need to pee? Can't you hold it in till we get back?" Myla shook her head.
“Unless you want me to pee in front of you then no" Cornelius made a disgusted face.
“Ewww alright fine, go pee in those bushes over there. I'll be waiting here for you, be quick" Myla nodded with a smile then ran off.
Cornelius sighed.
“What a nuisance!" He muttered.
~
Myla glanced back to see if Cornelius was watching her and heaved a sigh of relief when he wasn't. She walked deep into the bushes and immediately ran into Luane's and Noah's opened arms.
“I missed you guys so much," Luane chuckled.
“We saw each other yesterday" They pulled apart and she smiled at them.
“Really? It seriously feels like I've been here for years" They all laughed.
“How are you doing though? Has he done anything to hurt you?" Noah questioned. Myla shook her head.
“No, he hasn't done anything out of the extraordinary"
“What about your plan to get close to him, is it working?" Myla shrugged.
“He's very hard to read so I honestly don't know but I do know that I'm getting close. When he starts opening up to me then I've succeeded" Luane nodded.
“That's good. Your mother said we should ask you how things are going and that if things are getting hard, you should find a way to come back home. Things aren't hard, right?" Myla shook her head.
“Honestly speaking, Ares can be rash sometimes but he hasn't really done anything to make him seem bad…"
“Ares? You call him by his name now?" Noah cut in with a smile.
“Of course I do, what else should I call him? Demon boy? We have grown past that"
“Or you don't see him as that anymore" Luane chimed in which made Myla frown.
“What do you mean by that?"
“Come on, we saw the way your eyes lit up just now when you were talking about him. You do not think he's a bad guy" Myla's frown deepened.
“You didn't even let me finish. Ares is a bad guy and I know that. He isn't showing it right now but I can feel it. I'm just saying with the days I've spent with him, he isn't really that bad" Noah sighed.
“You still haven't changed. You are always looking for the good in people. I just hope you remember what he did to your father because killing him is your goal here and Luane and I are here to remind you every fucking single day. I'm leaving" And with that, he turned away and left.
“What's his problem?" Myla murmured which made Luane sigh.
“He has a crush on you, remember?" Myla frowned.
“What does that have to do with this?" Luane chuckled.
“You are always slow when it comes to this. Anyway, I've got to go before your bodyguard starts looking for you" Luane ruffled her hair before running after Noah.
As soon as they were out of her sight, Myla turned around and was surprised by how deep inside into the woods she was. She walked towards the way she came in but slowly realized that she was walking in circles.
“How the heck do I get out of here now? Cornelius must be looking for me," She muttered.
“Whenever you are lost in the forest, jungle or the woods, just look at the direction the wind is blowing from and you'll find your way out" She suddenly remembered what her mother told her and a smile appeared on her face. She looked up at the trees and luckily enough, it was kind of windy that night.
She was about to take a step when she heard footsteps behind her. Thinking it was Noah and Luane, she turned around.
“Why are you guys….." She fell to the ground with a groan as soon as the heavy brick connected with her head.
“I hope you didn't kill her, she's not a wolf. She might not survive that" She heard one of them say behind her.
“That's not my problem. Let's take her away now before someone sees us" And with that, she slipped into unconsciousness.

Cornelius groaned as he searched around for Myla. She hadn't come back from taking a piss and he felt like something was wrong. He walked towards the woods and before he could take a step forwards, he caught a scent of blood but not just any blood, A human's blood.
“Fucking hell, please don't be Myla" He walked into the woods and tried to catch her scent which was very faint and so was the blood scent.
“Shit, Ares is going to kill me"

Isabel looked up at Ares and blushed when she found him watching her eat.
“Why aren't you eating your food and just staring at me like that?" Ares tilted his head at her.
“Because watching you eat is making me lose my appetite for some reason" Isabel choked on her stake. She immediately dropped her fork and wiped her mouth with the napkin on her lap.
“I'm sorry, I didn't realize" She knew how blunt Ares was with his words but that didn't mean it didn't hurt most of the time.
Ares rolled his eyes then picked up his fork and was about to eat when he heard Cornelius' panicky voice in his head.
[Ares, Myla is missing and I think something has happened to her] Ares immediately stood up from his chair. His Aura had turned deathly sinister that it made Isabel jump out of her seat.
“What's wrong?"
“We need to leave, Now!".....
