Ares stood up from the table with a sigh.
“Are you done eating?” He questioned as he turned to Myla. She nodded and hastily stood up. Her eyes drifted towards his plate which made her frown.
“You didn’t touch your food, are you okay?” Ares tilted his head at her with a smirk.
“Do not worry about me little slave”
“Why can’t I worry about you? I asked you to be my friend, remember? And friends care for one another” Ares walked over to her without breaking eye contact.
“When did I agree to be your friend? So you think it’s right for a slave and it’s master to be friends?” She shook my head honestly.
“No it isn’t but I would like to be your friend” He tilted his head.

“Why?”
“Because you seem like you need one” His eyes suddenly softened and Myla felt like she had gotten to him but he just turned away from her and walked away.

“We can’t be friends so don’t hope on it” He muttered as he walked past her. Myla sighed. Why did he have to be so difficult?
She turned around and ran towards him before he could leave the dining room.
“Even if you don’t treat me as a friend, I’ll treat you like one because that’s what I want” He halted then slowly turned to Myla. She thought he was going to yell at her by the way he was looking at her but he just smirked.
“You are very stubborn, little slave and I don't know if that's a good thing" Then he walked away. She took a deep breath before following behind him.
Just then, Cornelius appeared in front of them.
“What is the status with Lucas?" Ares asked as he continued walking. Cornelius sighed.

“His father and Leo and giving him a hard time" Ares stopped in his tracks then turned to Cornelius.
“Let's go there then" Cornelius nodded then led Ares towards where Lucas was. Myla quietly walked behind them but was secretly worried about Lucas. He behaved like a child so it made everyone want to care for him. Myla could understand why Ares couldn't resist.

Lucas fell to the ground as soon as his father's palm landed on his face.

“You worthless child, how dare you speak back to your brother like that?" His father yelled. Lucas clenched his fist then turned to both of them with a glare.
“He's not my brother and neither are you my father. Who treats their son and brother like trash!!?" He yelled in their face and by the expression they had on, Lucas had never talked back to them before.
Leo scoffed then turned to the table, grabbed an iron rod and turned back to Lucas.
“I will not stand here and have my junior brother disrespect me this way. It's time I break those wings of yours" Lucas turned away as Leo raised up to the rod to hit him and waited for the pain to hit but it never came.
He slowly turned back to Leo and his eyes widened when he saw Ares holding the rod above his head while Leo and his father stared at him with wide eyes.
“Ares…. What are you doing here?" Lucas' father stuttered. Ares took the rod away from Leo's hand with a scoff.

“So your junior brother is now an animal to you now? How would you feel if I hit you with this rod?" Leo whimpered and fell to the ground the minute Ares raised up the rod but Ares didn't hit him, instead he smirked. He turned to Cornelius and motioned towards Lucas.
“Help him up" Cornelius nodded and immediately obeyed while Ares threw away the rod and turned away but before he could leave, Leo grabbed his hand.
Ares glanced at their hands then turned to Leo with a raised eyebrow.

“With all due respect, Lucas is my junior brother and I can do whatever I want with him" Ares chuckled then swatted away Leo's hand.
“Look if you think I care about your family affairs then you're highly mistaken. I just don't like injustice and I hate it when someone is being bullied so if you ever bully Lucas again, you're going to have to face me and I can be the biggest bully on the planet if I'm given the chance. Keep that in your skull for now since you don't have a brain" And with that, Ares walked out of the study.
Leo punched the table as soon as they were all gone.
“Let's see who will have the last say, shall we?"

“Oh my, you were so cool!" Lucas said in awe as he walked beside Ares. Ares groaned as soon as Lucas grabbed his arm.
“Let go, will you?!" Lucas just smiled at Ares' discomfort. Myla smiled at the pair then turned to Melody.
“I'm so glad to finally be able to talk to you. How have you been?" Melody smiled.
“Master Lucas is very good to me and I hardly feel like a slave unless we are around his family so I'm okay. What about you? I've heard a lot about the Alpha king and they are not nice. Does he hurt you? Tell me everything" Myla glanced at Cornelius to make sure he wasn't listening but she had a feeling he was.
“No, those rumors are false. Just like you, he doesn't really treat me like a slave. He's actually caring and makes sure I'm okay if we are not together" I turned to Melody and found her staring at me with a weird expression.
“Why are you staring at me like that?" She suddenly smiled.

“Do you have a crush on the Alpha?" My eyes widened.
“WHAT NONSENSE ARE YOU SPROUTING OUT OF YOUR MOUTH?!" I yelled before I could stop myself. They all turned to me with confusion on their faces except Cornelius who just shook his head.
“Erm…. I'm sorry, carry on with your conversation" I muttered awkwardly. Lucas turned to Ares.
“Oh, have you thought about my request? Will you come with me to the festival? Your slave and Cornelius will be with us. Let's have fun!!" Ares groaned as Lucas wiggled his arm.
“I should have let Leo hit you with that rod" He muttered but Lucas just laughed.
“Please, just this once" Ares stared at him for a while then sighed.
“Fine" Lucas immediately began jumping like an excited child. Melody grabbed Myla's hand as they both squealed excitedly.
“This is my first festival, I can't wait," Melody murmured.
“It's going to be so much fun" Myla replied then turned to Ares and found him watching her but that wasn't what surprised her but the faint smile playing on his lips…..
