Things always change. Even right here from where I am currently standing at, right now I am undergoing unevitable changes hidden in plain sight. It’s something I can’t see for now. But I hope it’s for the better.
“What’s this?” I asked him. Didn’t actually know why I am awed. I didn’t know why I am staring at the thing Alcuin gave to me. Seeing this, it’s something that I don’t always see around stores.
“It’s vintage. I saw it and I immediately thought about you.” Alcuin was grinning happily.
Alcuin was grinning but I was staring at him, looking like I am thinking something with depth but I couldn’t comprehend the fact that nothing seems to come inside my head.
“Thank you. Alcuin…” I really want to stop pretending. He shouldn’t do this. He can’t continue.
“I remembered when we go out. When you got the lotus out of that murky water? You even slipped your sandals off just to get it.” He was stating another memory in his mind about Azaiah.
She stopped herself from speaking. She can’t be that wicked to ruin the vibe right? She looked at the lotus lamp Alcuin gave to her. She still couldn’t believe she’s having something like this in here. “It’s not easy to find such rare items like this. Thank you, Alcuin.”
Alcuin. And his lotus lamp… I smiled at the thing that was placed on my desk. “It looks so good.” I am still smiling like an idiot, cannot seem to remove my gaze from the thing in front of me. Alcuin gifted me with things. Sometimes I even wonder why is he such into giving me with items. Admitting that he won’t stop not until I said so… I was stressing out again. I grab a pen and a paper. And wrote things out of my head.
Decluttering my head. Giving my mind some space to breath. I don’t like this.
I don’t want to be pursued by someone whom I don’t see a future with. I only want him. My man… I don’t like it. I want to be with someone whom I can clearly see that is for me. Alcuin’s behavior towards me, it’s something I am looking for in a man. But- I only only want to be with someone whom I can see a vision, me seeing the guy as the love of my life. And sadly I don’t see it in Alcuin.
Enchanted with what I suddenly wrote. I stopped writing. I wrote his name again. Why can’t I stop already? Swirling my body, I turned and stared at the painting hanging on the wall. Mom again. Buying stuffs. But I don’t mind what she bought this time. Because it was a painting of a lotus flower. A lotus flower and it’s sparkling petals. A light was spiraling, with twinkle. Spiraling upward. It’s beautiful. And it’s pink. But the painting was depicted differently though- the water from where the lotus flower was floating. The water was so clean. Crystal clear. Different from where lotus grow.
Amelia buying stuffs from a random stranger. It shocked me. She was really into her storytelling. She was deeply moved by what she heard. She told me that the story was lovely. That’s her reason why she bought it. The creation of canvas was good. It’s worth it to be bought..
Moving my body to face the table once again. I picked up my pen and kept on writing my thoughts. These need to get out. I definitely need to get this out of my head. These matters should not be my problem tomorrow. I hope I wouldn’t be bothered by these.
A beep caught my senses. I stared at my phone. A message was sent to me. But from whom? Wanting to check it immediately I caught my phone and went ahead to see the message.
“I hope you’re fine.”
I read it with my eyes. It was from an unknown number. Maybe it’s from one of them, from my friends. Definitely not from him…
Feeling contended from what I did. I went back on writing. Another beep was heard by me.
“You need to sleep now. It’s getting late. You got school tomorrow.”
A nudging reminding that made me smile. Whoever sent me this was right. I need to go to school tomorrow. And it’s getting late. And even though I am liking this, me sitting by myself immersing with the peaceful nighttime vibe that I always love. I need to sleep. I put the pen back and slip the paper in one of my notebooks. I’ll continue writing it tomorrow.
Turning my lamp off I scooted to be comforted by my blanket. Then I drifted off to my dreamland.
Walking. I loved where I am at. This is such a wonderful place to be in. I can stay in here for a long time. When suddenly I heard someone calling my name. I heard my name miles from afar. The voice was too distant. But the guy’s voice can still be heard. Not until I saw his face flashed in front of me.
“You need to wake up now, Azaiah.”
My eyes suddenly opened , I felt the urged to laugh. I laughed. Right after I opened up my eyes. How can he appeared in my dream and talk to me that I need to wake up from my slumber? That’s weird. I found it weird. His distinct voice and its sudden closeness, I shook my head from the dream I had. I exhaled a breath. Even when I think that, my morning breath probably stink. I shouldn’t overthink this.
My breath ragged. I am running out of breath. “We’ve been running away.”
“We need too. Or else. She will saw us.”
“What do you mean us? It was supposed to be only you, but you pulled me.” I talked back, reasoning out to Ehaan. “If she knew about it.”
“She’ll love it. She loved seeing me suffer.” He stated. As if he memorized her already.
“But…” I even my breath. “Aren’t you…”
“No Azaiah. That’s enough reason to not go further.” He was clenching his jaw.
“But I want to. I want to go back and congratulate her.” I said. I badly wanted to congratulate her. Thea won.
Ehaan looked at me. His gaze, was not hard anymore. It looked soft. He exhaled. Took another inhale before saying something.
“Okay. Let’s head back.”
A beep was heard from my phone. I got another text. I pulled my phone out of my pocket.
“Congratulate her for me too.”
I looked around to see if there’s another person from the hall but I saw no one.
“What’s wrong?”
I looked at Ehaan. I only flashed him a smile.
“Nothing.” I said while shaking my head.
We kept on walking. And I was thinking about the person who owned the number. I should probably ask for his name. And I’ll do it later.
“Enter now. I’ll stay outside.” Ehaan was urging me to enter the room. He was staring at me, eyes urging me to go inside.
“No buts, Azaiah. Go inside. I’ll wait from here.”
I head inside. I immediately see other individuals aside from Martin. Two is Calli and Alcuin. They’re standing closely together. A bit surprised from what I saw I tilted my head a little to stare at the door. Ehaan was staring at me. I stared back turning my eyes to look at the two. Thea was happily thanking them when her eyes went towards me.
“Azaiah.” She muttered happily.
I excitedly walked towards her chair and gave her the gift. “Congratulations.”
She stood from her seat, I went to her and gave her a hug that she accepted. “Thank you.”
She leaned her head. “Where is he?” She whispered in a low tone.
I can’t help but smile. I pulled out from the hug and turned around. Only to see Galen standing through the door, he’s about to enter the room when our eyes meet…
Something in me pass, a new sensation that my senses couldn’t ignore.
