“Why are you silent, Galen? Say something.”
Martin was stretching his arms. Warming up for their practice, he then stared at them. He the corners of his mouth move. He couldn’t help himself but to smirk. He saw Cloud handing something to Azaiah.
Ehaan started on letting his laugh out. “That’s a great shot, you think?” He was talking to the guy beside him.
“It is. If my cam is here I would’ve snap within seconds I saw them.” The other guy commented.
“I can ask her. You know she’s starting to do photoshoots.” Martin quickly joined the conversation. “Cameras seemed to be fond of her.” He added.
Ehaan’s eyes turned serious. “What are you up into, Martin?
“Chill, dude. Azaiah is starting to model. She made me saw her photos. The shoots turned out pretty good.”
“She’s beautiful. Of course it’ll turn out pleasant.” The other guy answer instead of Ehaan.
“You’re getting pretty close to her. You’re not planning anything?” Ehaan remained observant. He was seriously looking at Martin. Martin couldn’t be trusted. It something that couldn’t be missed. There’s something about the way he acts. It’s done in stealths.
“I know what I am doing.” He stared at Azaiah. “There’s something about that girl…” He stared back at him. “I couldn’t hurt her.” He then started smirking. “And besides, you like her. You also give him the impression that you have that soft spot for her.”
“It’s not hard to like her.” Ehaan answered directly.
Martin continued smirking and stared at Galen. “Say something, bro.”
“I don’t have anything to say.” Galen’s answer was a bit cold. His eyes didn’t display any hint of emotions. It’s dark.
“You’re really hard to read, dude. Do you even care for her the way she cares about you?” Martin’s voice raised. He’s feeling mad. Angry towards Galen. It reminded him of Azaiah’s words. With a clenched jaw he stopped himself from speaking further.
“Martin. I never thought you’ll be this serious bro.” The guy beside Ehaan spoke up again. “Hey guys. Martin’s too serious with a girl this time.”
Laughs can be heard from the boys. There comes loud cheers. Each saying something about Martin’s behavior. It was a bit too loud. The ones that were silent are the four of them. Martin plastered a smile on his face. Ehaan was glancing back and forth; he was staring at his friends. Calli held into Galen’s arms, she was checking up on him. While Galen remain temperate to what’s happening. The cheers caught Azaiah’s attention. But nothing caught her attention the most, when she saw Calli’s hands slipped on Galen’s arms. Cloud followed her gaze. He began staring at her with concern in his eyes. Thea was concealing the annoyance she felt.
“If she can wrapped her fingers around Galen, why wasn’t she able to do that to my cousin?” She blurted it out, before she puffed a breath.
She stared at the two person beside him. “Isn’t that a bit unfair on my cousin’s side? Right?” She began thinking that Calli was insensitive towards Alcuin.
Azaiah began to think. Thea only has two cousins. The other one was girl. And the other, is no other than but Alcuin himself. She began to decipher things but she couldn’t get answers.
“I am sorry. You guys are oblivious to what happened. I shouldn’t have said it.” Thea said her apologies. Her eyes turned away from focusing too much on the crowd’s cheering.
“You know it’s a good thing.” Cloud intervened.
“Why?” Thea began to feel the need to engaged herself in immersing with what Cloud is about to say.
“So you give Aiah the needed clarity. That is one of the things that confused her.” Cloud mentioned what he observed.
Thea was shock. She gaped at him with the kind of stare; “How do you know”. But she wasn’t able to speak up and instead looked at Azaiah. Azaiah only smiled at her.
“He just knows.” Azaiah answered.
She then leaned her head on Cloud’s shoulders. No malice, just with the gratefulness knowing she has a friend like this in her life. One who knows how to apprehend even when she was sitting in silence, Cloud still knows it.
Breaking the silence, Thea unwrap the candy Cloud gave. She began to shove in her mouth. Her forehead crinkled. Slight scurved lines appeared on it. She was chewing the sweet, and she is chewing it a bit loudly. “It’s bit hard to chew this one. But this taste good.”
Azaiah opened one to and gave it to Cloud. Before she starts unwrapping the other one and gently put in inside her mouth. “You know, I’ll be waiting.”
The two both looked at her at the same time. They were interested, waiting on what she’ll say next.
She smiled after seeing them. “I’ll be waiting on the day you’ll be ready to tell me about everything that happened between them.”
Thea’s mouth began to form a smile. “Ohh, Azaiah. I have been ready to tell you about everything. I was just waiting for the go signal of you being ready to listen to it.” She eyed Cloud. “You know, it’s for that very reason that she’s dismissing it whenever I’ll try to open it during our conversations. That made me think she wasn’t interested.”
“I am. The very first stages you’ve started to insert it during we talk… I felt like I will be prying for something so private. So that matter, I have neglected it for a while.” Azaiah implored her reasons.
“Sigrid Azaiah!!!” Someone began to shout in a loud voice. “Someone here is into you!!”
Loud “ohh’s” were heard. The other ones were shouting for support. The cheering crowd continued with their laughs. That made them smile.
“It’s nice seeing them happy.” Cloud said.
“You always say something… I mean, Azaiah. Cloud is..” Thea spoke. “He’s a bit unusually weird.”
She began raising her hands as Cloud stare at her. “Not in a bad way though. You’re unique but in a cute way.”
Azaiah agreed silently. There’s something strangely peculiar in his personality. He is quite, but he knows how to he is able to navigate his surroundings. He knows how to be sensible enough to have an awareness and having that knowledge of being aware even though he loves to sit in silence in wonderful. But at the same Cloud’s personality holds a lot of mysteries. Her eyes turned to other people. She saw how Ehaan chided them. He was signaling them to do their practice drills.
“I think you should go there, Cloud.” She said.
Cloud flashed a smile at her before he starts to walk towards his teammates. Thea was then making vomiting sounds once again. Ehaan was staring at her. She was making disgusted expression. Martin flew her another flying kiss, she happily caught it this time and started laughing at her own gesture she’s done. Azaiah only stared at them.
A kiss landed on her cheeks. She turned her head towards her right only to see Alcuin smiling. His chinky eyes are now looking a bit close this time now that he is smiling. He was grinning.
“We’ll talk later.” He suddenly whispered at he leaned on her ear closely. He then starts to run off grinning.
She wasn’t able to move, her body turned a bit stony. Thea was cheering this time. She is all smiles. She can feel the softness of his lips that landed on her skin. She automatically touched the part where Alcuin placed his lips. That made Thea smile even more. She’s making giggling sounds. Thea half-suppressed another laugh that she wants to let out. Azaiah started smiling too.
The boys are exchanging glances. Ehaan and Martin both stared at each other, before they break it off to stare at Galen who was looking away. He saw the gesture. But he’s acting like he didn’t see it.
“Galen. I’ll leave your water bottle here.” Calli then went to the near bench and placed it. She walked back at him, before she slowly angled her head and leaned in. She kissed his cheek.
Galen’s head abruptly moved to give her a look. His eyes went towards Azaiah only to see her being pulled by Thea away.
“Why did you do it?” He then asked her coldly. He didn’t like it. He saw Callista’s scared expression. He then chose to soften his expression. “Calli.” He said.
“I’ll go. I have to go.” She was stammering in her words for a bit. She then paced herself to walk. Feeling a bit shameful for the part that she kissed Galen on the cheek without even thinking about it. She’s even shocked at herself for doing it. She couldn’t believe she did something like it.
She looked back and turned her head away when she still saw Galen staring at her.
“Don’t squeal. Do not squeal, Calli.” She wanted to shrieak at what she did. How is she supposed to face Galen again after doing that.
“Do you think she ever even have an inclined liking towards Alcuin?” Thea’s voice turned high-pitch, the annoyed tone is there. She was looking a bit stress. The sudden incident made her feel emotions.
“You know. They’re supposed to be together. Alcuin liked her and she also had feelings for him. But when Alcuin talked to her and ask her if she’s willing to date him, she declined. She said she wasn’t ready. That she wasn’t sure whether she truly liked him or not, that she couldn’t think of anything other than rejecting his offer. I can’t help but to wonder about that mater. And their love affair… I saw how things developed between them, Azaiah. I was sure they look like they like each other. But during those time when my cousin asked her, she was acting cold and uninterested. Do you think she just played him?”
Thea’s spoken treatment made her think. She remembered what Calli told her. Is it the right thing to say it to Thea? Her eyes positioned at a fixated stare at her. It was unsettling. She was thinking about what Calli did. She did the same thing that Alcuin did.
She kissed Ajax too. Her way is a bit… Thea was waiting for her answer. So she opened her mouth to speak.
“I don’t know, Thea. Perhaps it’s best if you say your questions to her so you can have a clear answer.”
She wanted to dig deeply. To ask questions about what happened to them. But she couldn’t. She could try; she will try to excavate the truth of the matter. Her mind and her heart will be both ready when she will do that…
