Lucas assisted me to my room before he proceed to his. We agreed to meet after my activities in the conference. I wanted to enjoy the event but I am worried that he might get bored while waiting for me. Though he assured me that it was alright and he’ll wait for me.
I changed my clothes for the opening of the conference, it was a mustard flowy dress and sandals. After I fix myself and my stuffs I decided to go out and headed to the event’s area. My co-workers are already busy preparing themselves for today’s activities.
I don’t have anyone close to me here. I guess this three days would be too quite since Rica is not around. Good thing I have Lucas with me, at least every time that our activities are done, I got someone to talk to.
It didn't took a while and the event started. We don’t have much to do for today since this was only allotted for the opening of our three days conference. We just discussed the activities that we will do for tomorrow and the next day. So today, we are allowed to explore the place.
I texted Lucas that we’re done. There
’s a food prepared for us but I decided to eat with Lucas.
Me:
We’re done. Where are you?
I was sitting on a sun lounger near the pool and the entrance of the resort as I wait for his reply. I waved at Miss Marisa when I saw her eyeing on me. She walked towards me so I waited for her.
“Miss Berdin,” she said. I nodded at her and smiled again.
“Yes miss?”
“Are you with the-,” she started hesitantly. I laughed a bit. Don’t tell me she likes Lucas?
“With Lucas, Miss Marisa? Yes, I’m with him.” I smiled even wider at her. She shifted her weight, not comfortable. I couldn’t stop myself from raising an eyebrow on her. She really likes Lucas huh?
“A-ah w-well Miss Berdin,” she smiled awkwardly. I waited for her to continue but before she could, I felt someone’s hand on my waist.
“Hey, there you are. You didn’t reply on my text,” Lucas said. I looked at my phone and saw his reply. His hand was still on my waist, he even pull me closer to him as he looked at Miss Marisa. I turned to face her too and saw her nervous. She even blushed! She literally likes Lucas that fast!
“I’ll go ahead, Miss Berdin. Enjoy the place, Sir. Please excuse me,” she said and left.
What was that? She’s so weird!
“What did she tell you?” Lucas asked softly.
I shook my head, “Nothing.” I smiled and pinched his side, “Miss Marisa likes you!” I teased.
He just shrugged and pull me again closer to him. He’s hugging me from my back. We watched the people around us having fun.
“You hungry?” he asked, that’s when I remembered that I want to eat with him.
“Yeah, have you eaten already? I didn’t eat there so we could eat together,” I said shyly.
“Okay then, let’s eat.”
He guided me to the resort’s restaurant. I remained silent and watched him order for us. If I didn’t knew that he’s Samantha’s driver I would think that he’s rich. The way he dressed himself, the way he stand. His body built, everything about him just speaks wealth. I wonder if he really got a high salary on Samantha that he could waste money this easily.
He suddenly looked at my side and catch me staring at me. I smiled at him and let him stare back at me.
“Why are you staring?” he asked, trying to tease me.
I leaned to the table and smiled sweetly at him, “You’re so handsome.”
I giggled when I saw him a bit shocked. I even saw his ears turn red and then his face up to his neck!
“Stop that, Veronica.” 
I pouted and tried to stop myself from giggling. He couldn’t look at me straight. He’s so cute!
Our food was served and he’s still quite. He was serious even when he started putting food on my plate while I just smiled at him widely.
“Are you making me fat, Lucas? This is too much!” I said when he finished putting a lot of food on my plate.
“You look skinny, you should eat a lot.” He said still serious.
“I’m not skinny! And I could do this myself,” I said when he started cracking the crabs for me.
“Yeah you’re not. But you attract too much guys,” he explained. Still preparing the seafoods for me.
“No Lucas, you eat. I can do this myself,” I said and stopped his hand.
He looked at me and sighed, “I know that you can. I am doing this so you wouldn’t have to do it yourself and I want to take care of you,” he said softly as he looked at me intently. I looked away and couldn’t say anything.
I suddenly felt a pinch of pain in my heart. Even before there’s no one who cares for me except the Sisters from the orphanage I was. There’s no one who genuinely cared for me except them and my bestfriend Gail. That’s why now that Lucas is here, everything feels new to me. Every time he guides me, every time he takes care of me, I feel like everything is forbidden. I feel like I shouldn’t feel this way, that I don’t deserve any of these. I have never imagined someone doing all of these for me, that it hurt. It makes me sad that there’s no one who’s willing to do this for me for a long time that I get used to it. And now that he’s here, with everything that he makes me feel, everything just feels painful.
“Thank you,” I said softly. He smiled at me and signed me to eat.
We decided to walk on the seashore after we eat. He was walking in front of me while I was slowing following him, he was covering the sun for me.
