I was busy eating in the kitchen when I heard the front door being open. It was weird. Mom said that she'd be home before dinner. Along with my dad. So who the heck is in my house? I was beginning to worry again. What if Caleb followed me home and decided to kill me because he wanted revenge? Creepy. I hope not. I made my way to the door.
"Why didn't you lock the door?" I heard someone say as I turn around.
"Ron! You're scaring me!" I hit him on his shoulder, hard.
Ron is my elder brother. He's in college now. He rarely goes home because he already has an apartment himself. I wonder if he has roommates? Hmm.
"Why? You think I'm a bloody murderer who wants to kill you? Seriously, I don't want to waste my time on you." he winks and laughs. It's not even funny.
"Whatever." I ignored him and walked to my room. But before that, I turn around to ask him something. "Why are you here? I mean, no school?" I raise an eyebrow.
He sighs and shrugs, walking to the couch. Turning on the television. okay... weird?
"Nothing. I'm just bored And... I miss my little sister so much, that's why."
Ron smiled, yet I feel like he's hiding something. I didn't even believe a single thing he said. I just kept staring at him curiously. He sighs one more time.
"I had a fight with Kate."
And who the hell is Kate?
"She's my girlfriend, Rose." oh, he heard me.
I decided to listen to him tell his sob story with his girlfriend, Kate. He said that they got into a fight because Ron had forgotten her birthday. Wow, that's cruel.
"How could you forget about her birthday?" I shook my head in disbelief, looking at him.
"I didn't mean to. I just..... Forgot? There's a lot on my mind. I didn't know how to apologise to her. My life sucks, ya know?" He chuckled. Unbelievable.
"You could start by saying sorry." I said, obviously quoting the word sorry with my fingers.
He sighs. Again,
"I don't know..."
"I've got an idea." I said, and that made him look at me with his eyes shining with hope. Creepy.
I told him that he should go buy a present that could make her happy and apologise for being forgetful. And last, take her to dinner, and they'll live happily ever after. He was silent.
He smiled widely. "That doesn't sound like a bad idea."
Well. I know.
"Let's go!" he said, grabbing my arm.

"To where?" I eyed him curiously.
"Buy a present?" He raises an eyebrow.
"It was you who should have bought her a present. Not me." I said.
"Well, I may need your help finding the 'perfect' present... So... Will you help?" He made a face. Damn he's annoying.
I sighs. He is just so dumb for this.
"Fine! Give me 10 minutes. I'll be right back." I said as I ran to my room. I could still hear him saying "hurry" and "don't want us to be late". We went to the nearest shopping mall because we didn't want to be late for dinner. Mom told us to be back before dinner. Ron drove us in his car.
Ron was pretty excited about it.
"So where do we start?" he exclaims happily.
We went to the mall to try to find the perfect gift for Kate. His girlfriend. Ron was thinking of giving her a bracelet. See? He doesn't even need me here. My feet are numb from walking. And I was starving. I didn't eat much earlier because I thought I was going to get killed. Just not my luck. Haha.
"Why don't you go buy something to eat? You look like you haven't eaten for weeks." he said, giving me some money. Cash, yes.
I happily took the money from him and said that I'd meet him at the car. He agreed and started to wander by himself. I was going to eat as much as I wanted, but I remembered Mom cooking dinner. I just have to be patient a little more. I'm not in the mood for salad. Let's just have maybe a burger? Eh, not enough. Waffle? Maybe. I like waffles. I saw a shop that said "Waffle House". I bought two. Gosh, why does it have to be so addicting?
I found a seat and started munching on my waffles. Oh, my. It melted in my mouth. I noticed some people gave me a weird look. Well, guess what people? I don't care! I was busy enjoying my waffle until I saw someone familiar. I smiled. It's Nicolas freaking Flynn! Yay, but he's not alone. Someone with him. Or must I say? A girl. Wait, I didn't know he already had a girlfriend? My chest hurt. I was staring at them.

I didn't notice I was staring at them that long until I saw Nicolas had been looking at me. I saw the girl was holding onto Nicolas's arm. Wow. I wanted to cry, but I kept telling myself to keep it cool. Sighing, I decided to walk back to Ron. I've had enough of watching him with someone else.
He has a girlfriend.
"Leaving already, Rosa?"
I can feel amusement in his voice. And why the heck is he calling me Rosa? The girl with him looked at me and smiled. She's so pretty. Why?
"Why you?" I glared at him at the same time. I'm annoyed at him and his girlfriend. He's taken! I just wanted to scream at them and punch Nicolas' beautiful face.
That will be brutal.
He smirks. As if he knew something.
"Who is she?" I heard the girl say. Huh, I was supposed to say that, girly.
"Remember the girl I told you that I dumped water on?" She nods.
Oh, he did not!
"This is her. The one and only." Nicolas chuckled. Why can he still be so annoying?
The girl took her arm away and gasped. Oh yes, she wanted to laugh her butt off. I was furious. I had enough. I was about to leave when she stopped me.
"I'm sorry for my cousin's stupid behavior." She said, looking at me.

Nicolas and I said that at the same time. Wait, what does he mean by that? And I was secretly dancing inside my head about the fact that she was not his girlfriend! He told his cousin about me! Oh, my. I'm honored. But seriously, The water dumping thing. It really is not cool.
"Why? You were thinking that I was his girlfriend. Please God, no. He's gross. But anyway, forgive him." She whispered the part saying Nicolas was gross.

"Why should I ask for apologies? she's the one who bumped me and hurt my toe." Nicolas rolled his eyes.
Cute. I hurt his toe. Ohmygosh I didn't know why I thought it was cute that he said "my toe." It's just so cute!
"It was an accident." I said to him, "and plus I already apologized." Not like some people, "I rolled my eyes."
He gave me the death glare. I feel special.
"Oh, my. He is sometimes stupid. Please don't mind him and his stupid behavior. And by the way, my name is Anna. You must be Rosa?" She smiled.
I smiled back at her. How come she's related to Nicolas? They're so different, especially in their behavior.
"It's Rose, not Rosa," I said with a smile.
I noticed Nicolas was trying to remember something but decided to shrug it off.
"Ah, I thought it was Rosa since Nick called you that," she said, sorry and nudged Nicolas.
Nick huh.
"I don't even know why he called me that." I glare at him.
And he rolled his eyes back and scoffed.
She's kind. How come I thought that she was Nicolas's girlfriend? and for the fact that she's only fourteen. Oh, my. But I never saw her around the school. That's odd.
"I have to go. It was nice meeting you Anna." I waved her goodbye. I could sense that Nicolas was annoyed. Typical him.
I was relieved that Nicolas is free and single. Wait, that sounded weird... I could still hear their conversation. I heard Anna say that "She's pretty. You should date her." and, of course, a scoff from Nicolas himself. Maybe I forgot to add the eye roll.
