Chapter 60 FIGURING IT OUT

The silence continued as the two stared at each other. In a few seconds, Mr. Ryan gulped down another cup of alcoholic wine. He gasped slightly as he darted his elbow on his face.
"Your mum. Who was she in my life? Well, she meant nothing. Good riddance to her. You are the only one I care about now," Andrew felt as if a sharp knife was dived into his heart.
His jaw dropped, as tears clouded his eyes. His throat was dry as he closed his eyes, inhaling deeply.' Now is not the time to cry,' he told himself as he met his stepdad's gaze again.
"You know your mum was a Crime detective, one that doesn't mind her own business. She was the reason for causing deep pain for me. She killed my elder brother, the only family I had. He killed him," he enunciated the last part as he let out-breath from his mouth as he poured another cup of the wine.
"My elder brother was one of those gangs that have left the part of the UK agitated slightly. She killed him, during a one-on-one combat. I just could not let that slide," his eyes closed slightly as he rested his head on the table.
The cold hit Andrew immediately, as his body tensed, beads of sweat on his forehead, as his lips dried up. He felt tensed up, and all he could do was pat his legs slightly with his fingers.
"Yeah. I learned everything about your mum including her likes and dislikes. That was when I came to know she was a single parent with just you as his son. I felt answers to my prayers. Finally, I could get my revenge," he raised his head, grinning.
"I moved closer to her and she began to fall for me. Poor her. She thought I loved her but I never did. All I felt for her was anger and hatred. Every day felt like spinning her around and stabbing a knife at her heart. She killed my only brother, so her life has to end too.
I waited and when I knew I will be meeting you, I felt happier, as I could easily use a stone to kill two birds, both you and your mum of course," he laughed, as his head moved up and down
"But it all seems everything was against me when I saw you. I could still remember you put on a short which exposed the hairs down your legs. Your small eyes with long and thick eyebrows got me dazed. I got stuck for the first time after a long time since my first love betrayed me. All that clouded my mind was to be with you. A strange phenomenon that bothered me, till the crazy obsession kept hitting me hard.
I removed the thought of killing you since I was beginning to develop a weird feeling for you. But your mum would never go Scot free. That, I later promised myself,"
Andrew felt stiff all over his body, as he felt goosebumps. He felt his head spinning, and hatred only arose in his heart for the man in front of him.
Her mum is one of the crime detectives and security officers who were only doing her job in putting an end to a crime. Only for her to be killed for doing the right thing.
"In no time, you started worrying about your mother, and thought of giving her a sleeping tablet, so that she would miss her trip back to work. That was when my action kicked in. You aced it for me because you wanted to spend more time with your mum," he gave out a wary smile, as their eyes met with each other.
"I saw you in your room with the drugs you planned to put in her drink or food. I swapped it, then boom, you killed your mother with your own hands.
I never felt pity for the death of your mum. She deserved it," he gritted his teeth, as pain flashed through his eyes.
"I thought you will be heartbroken after your mum's death, which happened. I thought I will finally be able to comfort you, move closer and make you fall for me. That was my aim, but you kept pushing me away, haha.
Do you know how hurt I have been, I just kept looking and hoping you will accept us. You know we will make a cute couple," he gulped down another glass of wine.
Mr. Ryan felt his head spinning as he rested backward. Somehow, he still felt the urge to say more. He moved his head forward as he stood up, but ended up swaying as his butt hit the ground.
Andrew stood up as he moved closer to him, putting his hand around him as he helped him up. They found their way to Andrew's room as he helped him sleep on his bed, which was large enough for the two of them.
Resting his head on the bed, Andrew tried to stand up only to be held tightly by his stepfather.
"I miss you. I hope we can be together. I love you," he giggled before dozing off.
Andrew pressed his palm against each other, as he finally let those tears out. He still found it difficult these few years after his parent's death. It felt like a fleshly cut scar. The hurt was still there. And it kept reminding him of how he caused the death of his mother.
His eyes glanced slightly at his study table as he saw a penknife. The thought of stabbing him with the knife kept running through his mind as he stood up.
His eyes were bloodshot, as he held the knife, remembering how he used it to cut the apple he ate in the afternoon.
He moved closer to his father as his words played in his head again.
''I have to kill you. You have caused me more than enough pain. You do not deserve to live,' he whispered as his hand shook.
He held on to the knife firmly, as his hand still kept shaking regardless. He paused, cleaning his face soaked with tears. He held firmly to the knife, more firmly this time.
His body trembled, as his lips started shaking. He bit his lips as his legs finally touched the bed.
Within a flash, he plunged the knife into his heart, as he gasped. Blood filled the bed in no time.
