Chapter 63 MORE PROBLEMS

Life can be unpredictable, uncertain, and filled with mysteries, that take time to unfold.
What seems happy from the outside, might turn out to be bitter on the inside. But one thing is for sure, the struggles, pain, suffering can either make or mar one. It is only left to do or choose which one will pay.
Everything seems so clouded in Kevin's mind. He felt his hands slippery, as the one whom he loves leaving and urging him to leave her.
"I don't want to be with you again. Leave me, just leave me." Tears only slipped down his face as he let go.
He slumped on the ground as he cried profusely. ' This is not happening', he thought
......
Kevin almost jumped out of the bed as he realized he just had a dream. He noticed the time on the clock as he realized he was late for school as it hit 10 am. It makes It weirder for him as he was an early morning person, and would wake up easily by 4 am, no matter how drowsy he was.
He groaned as he felt a sharp pain hit his head. One that made him close his eyes for a while.
He tried to reflect on the dream as he realized it was all about his mum. But why would his mum want him to leave her?
The dream seem like a puzzle he could not find answers to.
He got out of his thoughts, as the sound of sirens filled the air. The sound was blaring loud, making him realize the cops were around. In fact, in front of their house.
Forcing himself, he picked up his blue top as he hurriedly put it on, glad he has short on. He hurried downstairs, not minding the pain that was hitting his head. He turned sharply, only to see his dad in handcuffs, with two cops beside him, one at each side.
"Wait, why are you taking my dad?" They turned at his voice.
Tears flowed down his dad's eyes, as Kevin's heart sank deeper and deeper.
"Mum, where are you? They are taking away my dad," Kevin called out as he moved closer to his dad.
"We are so sorry to inform you that Mr. Henry Harpers here is found guilty of fraudulent practices as well as embezzlement. We are here to take him off in regards to the Authority demands," The first cop by the right explained.
Everything almost dropped dead, as Kevin's body remained stiff, as sudden coldness took over his body.
"What? That is impossible. It is not my dad. You must have mistaken somewhere. My dad would never do such," Mr. Henry looked up at his son, surprised he vouched for him.
It touched his heart, as more tears went down his eyes.

The first cop moved closer to him, as he brought out a paper in front of Kevin, who was shocked by what he saw on the paper.
"Mr. Henry's signature appeared 5 different times, in different fraudulent activities he took part in. All evidence pointed out that he did this discreetly as ever, but the law has finally apprehended him," Kevin's heart beat faster, as he felt he would faint anytime soon.
He took steps backward, as his mouth slowly drops.
"Kevin, don't believe this. I never had a hand in this. I work honestly for my money. You have to trust me" his father retorted as the cops began dragging him out of the house.
Kevin could only watch as his dad left. His whole body felt numb, as he wished all that happened was just a dream. It was something he never expected even in his dream. A sight that makes him tremble and feel numb at the same time.
All he could say in his heart was that he trusted his dad. He felt there was a mystery to this, making him feel weaker than expected.
He pushed himself as he slumped on the chair in the sitting room. His body felt heavy, pains oozing through his body. He rested for a while as he dragged himself towards his mum's room.
Every movement he made felt like a heavy stone was placed on his feet. He got to his mum's room as everything seemed rather empty.
"Mum, where are you?" Kevin shouted as he searched every nook and cranny of her room.
He slumped on her bed as hot tears went down his face. He flashed back to his dad's words yesterday night.
"Let me kill her. She has ruined us, "her father has repeatedly said.
It seems her mother has something she was hiding all this while. But he was not supposed to doubt his mum right? Maybe she would still come back.
He felt his inner mind totally against his new thoughts.
It felt so strange and bizarre, and somehow Kevin was between the devil and the deep blue sea. A situation he could not even think of something to go for.
He stood up as he sat on the bed. He remembered his mum's last words to him yesterday night.
"There is more than what meets the eyes. Tomorrow will reveal everything,"
He frantically scanned the whole room, as his eyes landed on a white sheet of paper lying on the table. He was about to take it when he heard footsteps downstairs. He picked the sheet of paper as he dashed downstairs.
He was surprised as he met the pairs of eyes, two young ladies sitting in the living room.
"Good morning. Do I know you? And what are you doing here?" Kevin regretted he never closed the door before leaving for upstairs.
"I thought no one was supposed to be here," the lady with brunette spoke, making Kevin wonder what he meant.
"Oh! Maybe he hasn't heard," the second lady moved closer to him.
"We are representatives from Biar Estate Management. We hereby announced that this house has been sold to our company some weeks ago, and we were supposed to check it out as well as for evacuation," Kevin felt he would run mad anytime soon.
"Wait. What? This is crazy. My dad wouldn't sell this house." Kevin muttered
"We don't know of any man. A lady by the name of Arianna Harpers sold the house to us. Because I am lenient, I will give you just 20 minutes to pick a few things from your room, then leave. I won't like to have someone throw a teenager out," the first lady states, rather furious, as she walked further into the house.
"Here is evidence of the sale of this house," the other lady handed him a piece of paper, as Kevin read through again.
He felt his heart almost throbbing out of its place. All sorts of pain went through his heart, as he felt he was losing his breath, as he held on to his chest tightly.
"Um, I would like to follow you to your room, to pick your stuff, so that you can leave this house. I don't want my boss to be offended again if she happened to meet you again." Kevin simply nodded at the second lady words as he walked upstairs to his room
He picked some of his belongings as he packed them in two of his bags, with an extra bag to his bags containing his high school books and other educational stuff. Picking up his phone, he placed it in his back pocket alongside the sheet of paper he took from his mum's room.
He walked rather slowly outside, as he saw only his car outside. He looked at it intently, wondering if it has also been sold.
"You are free to take the car. It was not among the things our company bought," Kevin sighed, a little bit relieved from the lady's words.
He gently placed his stuff at the back seat, as he drove the car outside. He felt his head blank, not knowing where to start from.
He cursed the day, wondering why his day was like this. He finally decided to hit a stop as he parked opposite a cafeteria, as he rested his head on the steering wheels.
He brought out the sheet of paper, as his eyes met the last set of phrases.
"KEVIN. I WAS NEVER YOUR MOTHER,"
The words only felt like a knife pierced to his heart. He burst into another round of tears.
