CHAPTER 8
“Are you okay, milady?” asked Scarlet in a worry tone.
“Y..yes, I am”
I tried to hide my trembling hands by putting it under the table. This is not the time where we should meet. If they’ll just going to passed by, then that’s more I like it.
Every step she takes makes my breath becomes heavier. I’m not prepared of this kind meeting. The bell chimes signaling that there’s a customer that’s will going inside.
My stepsister looks my way and she smiled at me. I don’t know what’s their conversation is all about but, they walked towards my way.
“Good day, lady marcox” my stepsister greeted me as soon as she was in front of me. I smiled at her in response.
“Good day?” I pretended not to know them. I know the word already spread that I lose my memories so, she won’t pestered me right?
“Oh! Pardon for my rudeness. I’m Ziana Una Leabeth, daughter of the Marquis Leabeth”
“And, I’m one of the relatives of Sir Walker. I’m Elora Luwel, daughter of the Baroness Lynch”
“Uhmm. Then, what brings you here?”
“Oh! You may not know me, but I’m one of the relatives of Sir Walker Wyatt the lover of your mom? The duchess?”
I know you. I remember it crystal clear. Your family is the culprit of why Chantria’s life is a living hell.
“Lover? I didn’t see any man like that in the manor. Perhaps, are you mistaken?”
“Uhmm, milady. I saw Sir walker in and out of the manor”
The heck with Rina? Does she really needs to answer me. I’m trying to get this girl out of my way.
“See? You may not noticed him but, I’m telling the truth so, I’m your cousin aren’t I?”
“I’m sorry but I’m a little bit confused. In what sense are we, cousin?”
“Well, my closest relatives is the lover of your mom so, I should be consider your cousin”
I smirked at her. I can’t believe it. We are not cousin or we don’t have any connections. Does she have a brain?
“Uhmm. But, I didn’t heard a news that my mother is remarried and, if my mother has a lover, why is it until now, she’s not marrying him? Pardon my rudeness Lady Luwel, but a lover can be changed anytime if there’s no law that binds them together, am I right?”
“Y…you!”
“Excuse us, Lady Marcox. My friend is a little bit nosy. I’m sorry for interrupting your peaceful time. We will go now”
“Its okay, I’m just raising my opinions. It’s a pleasure to meet you by the way Lady Leabeth. Don’t take it to heart Lady Luwel, well if my mother will get remarried. I’ll welcome you with all of my might”
I heard her saying “tssk” before walking out. They were seated a few meters away in our side. I smiled in victory. If Chantria was here she would never utter a single word instead, she will chose to accommodate that girl.
I glanced Rina and Luwel, they seems like conversing through their glances. Now, my suspicious is rising up. I should investigate her as soon as possible. Rina must be a spy that they hired.
After some quiet time. I decided to go home. I wanted to rest, I don’t want to stay there for a long time.
We walked towards the church we were dropped of, because that’s where our carriage waiting. There’s a crowd gathered to the other side of the streets.
"What’s happening?
“What’s going on there?”
“It’s a royal parade, milady”
“Is there an event today?”
“Yes, milady. Today is the day the we had our victory over the invaders or during the war”
“That’s the first time I’ve heard of it”
“Yes, there’s probably a feast going on in the palace. All of the people were invited, from nobles to commoners”
In the story, I can’t remember reading that part. It’s because Chantria never appeared in the story. It was more focused on the two protagonist. The only thing that I read is her flashbacks story as well as her evil deeds.
After eliminating one villain to another. There’s an obstacle ahead, which is me, the mother of his highness son. If this is a game, I would be called the final boss.
Three years from now, it would be my time to appear in the story. So, Chantria’s life. How was it? Why is the author didn’t care about it’s characters and always developed the love story of the two. All I know is that, Chantria never gone outside the moment she know she’s pregnant.
I sighed depressedly. There’s nothing I can do now. Yes, I may have the advantage knowing the story but there’s a little details about the life of Chantria.
“Are you going to the castle, milady? Or you want to see the royal parade?”
“Uhmm.. no, let’s go home”
I don’t want to see the prince. Not now, I’m not yet ready. I entered the carriage and closed my eyes to rest. There’s so much things that I need to do. I heard the cheers of the people. It’s a joyous event after all.

Meanwhile, the crown prince who now seated in one of the royal carriage that’s not an enclosed one. Lots of people saw their faces. The Emperor and Empress were on the first carriage surrounded by the soldiers in their uniforms. Next, is the carriage of first and second that surrounded by the soldiers that under by the command of the first prince. Not only that, there’s also the commanders of different groups in front of the carriages leading it’s soldiers.
It's a merry festivities. The two princes wave to the people and smiled to them. They answered some of the greetings and shake their hands.
The first prince glanced at the other side of the street where the church located. She saw three girls and only one he’s focused his attention.
The lady sighed while hopping to their carriage. What’s her problem he thinks. After some deep thought, he came back because her brother pokes his waist.
“What’s the problem?”
“Nothing, I’m just thinking”
“Well, is that a girl?”
“Uhmm. Yeah?”
The second prince laughed at his older brother. It’s the first time he’s thinking about a girl. He thought that all he’s ever thinking is his duties.
“What kind of girl is she?”
“Not like those”
He gazed at the girls who now, screaming at the top of their lungs. Also, the nobles at the side who were waving at him. The one who keeps pestering him.
“Is that the girl you’re talking about?”
“Nah, she’s not here”
“Why? Isn’t she celebrating with us? Did you send her an invitation?”
“I did”
“Then, why?”
“I don’t know”
His little brother chuckled at him and teased him until they arrived at the palace.
Surely, this second prince is very curious about this girl whom his older brother interested into.

It was nighttime when all of the people were partying. Some of the commoners in the garden where drunk and had their own lively moments. They were all singing and dancing on a bonfire while inside, the nobles were not very pleased to this. They were disgusted that they were partying together with the commoner.
The Emperor spread a word, not to harm them. It’s been their tradition for a hundred years, giving gratitude to those fallen soldiers who fight for their freedom so, he knows that the nobles will always, ruined their night because of the difference of their status.
The nobles were partying a few kilometers away from the commoners. They build a party hall for them and only for them. But, there are still lingering hate towards them and only, few wants to get along with the commoners.
The Duchess of Raisville is here but the Lady Marcox is nowhere to be found. The first prince who were seated together with his family, saw her but he’s disappointed for not seeing her.
“Greetings! your royal highnesses”
“Oh! Duchess Marcox, you’re here”
“Yes, I apologized for not bringing my daughter as she’s not feeling well”
“Oh my?”
The Empress walks down to her long time best friend. The two of them were childhood friends but, when the empress married to the emperor, they still keep in touch but it’s limited as the both had many duties to fulfill.
When, the party held on the royal palace. The Empress always excused herself whenever she saw the Duchess. The two of them will locked in the guest room to party their own. All of them knew about this. The Empress can’t make the Duchess go to the royal palace cause she missed her, it’s a selfish action that needs to be eliminated as the two had many priorities that needed to be done first especially the problem in the household and it’s people.
That’s why, when nobles can’t see the Duchess present at the moment. They will grab that chance to appeal themselves to the Empress.
The two sat in the guest room and there are two guards outside preventing intruders to enter. The Empress prepared them wine and lots of pastries. She always thought that there’s a lot stories they need to share to each other.
“I didn’t see your, daughter. After you’ve announced she’s gone missing”
“Actually, I need something to talked to you but, keep it a secret. Okay?”
The Empress nodded. The Duchess shared the information about the disappearance of her daughter and her current state, being pregnant.
“That’s why, I wanted to cancel the engagement but, the first prince don’t want to. What should I do?”
The Empress laughed as she doesn’t expected her son to behave like that. As she know, her son don’t like girls company. He had a very judging eyes. He would investigate that girl first rather getting to know her. But, this time. He knows the condition of the Lady in Raisville but he didn’t cancel their engagement.
“ Oh my? That’s a surprise”
“See? I too, was surprised”
“Your daughter might be special”
“No, no. it can’t be. The two of them never got to see, right?”
“Yeah, but my son seems hoping to see her today”
“Well, I tried to convinced her to come here but, she didn’t”
“Why?”
“W…well, it’s her first time requesting me something so I got a little excited that I prepared her to go out. I… forgot about the party and she's a little bit too tired to go on a party”
The Empress laughed at her. As always, she’s absent minded when it comes to her daughter.

The other side of the town. There’s a small manor. The one who lived there is the Baroness in Lynch and her daughter.
The girl slammed the entrance door without knocking. She have seen the girl which is her mom, who’s naked on the top of the man.
“M…mom!” she shrieked in anger
“Why are you here? Didn’t you go to the palace for a party?”
“Yeah, I did”
The girl who she called a mother hastily dresses herself as well as the man beside her. She got annoyed to her daughter because she interrupted something that she’s dying to do.
“The Lady wants to rest and I don’t have a money to take me home so, I ride her carriage. She dropped me off in that church. I got here by walking”
“Well, your friend is rich. Just bear with it”
“That girl is emotional unstable. I can’t keep up with her damn attitude”
“Watch your mouth, she’s still the lady”
“Yeah, right. Why are you here, dad?”
“Oh? Well, I missed your mother so I visit here”
“Oh! you mean, Duchess Marcox isn’t home?”
“Shusshhhh…. Keep your voice down, we don’t want someone to hear, don’t you?”
“Mom, there’s no one here besides us. Who would want to live in a shabby old house like this, in the neighbor? Only commoners do”
“Why not go to your room and rest?”
“Why Dad? Do you want to continue your session?”

“How absurd? Why are you not married to the Duchess yet? Snatched away her riches Dad, i don’t want to live in this condition”
“Just wait, I know the Duchess will give in”
“How can I wait? Her daughter makes me so furious that I want to trample her life. She mock me earlier when I saw her”

“I politely told her that I’m her cousin since, dad is the lover of the Duchess then, she mocked me that there’s no law binding the two of you together so I don’t have the rights to call he a cousin. Isn’t she’s crazy?”
“Why! That girl! How dare she is, treating you like that”
“Why did she revived from the dead?”
“Luckily, she didn’t remember all of us”
“Lets move to the next plan, shall we?”
