CHAPTER 27
I don’t know why but my heart is beating so fast and for some unknown reason I’m nervous. I stopped what I’m doing. I put my hands on my chest to feel it. I gasped for some air.
“Are you okay, chantria?”
“I... I don’t know. My heart is restless”
“MOM!”
Scarlet shouted her mother’s name. But Nanny didn’t hear it so she hurriedly approached her. Amelia caressed my back as she didn’t know what to do. The one who handle me during those times where I felt bad, is nanny. As soon as, nanny arrives she squat down and telling me to do breathing exercise to calm myself.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes, I’m fine nanny, it’s just that I’m nervous right now. My heart seems not settling down”
She held my hand which turned cold. I don’t know what’s happening to me. She massages my hands to lessen the fatigue I felt. She keeps telling me to breathe in and out and be relax. For what happened to me, everyone who were working stopped and ask if I’m alright. They started to approach me one by one and then a crowd was form that I’m unable to gasp some air properly.
“Get me some water”
“Drinkable mom?”
“Yes, and all of you, get back to work. You, only make things harder for her”
People were suddenly goes back one by one but there is still, people who still lingers around. My nanny got annoyed. She asks Amelia to fetch Sir Frets as we will be going home and she won’t allow me to walk. I might get a terrible feeling along the way. I drank the water that scarlet fetch but, my feelings didn’t subside. My sweats keep falling to my forehead.
“What’s wrong?”
I heard Sebastian on the crowd. He’s excusing himself. I don’t know why, but my heart is screaming right now that to not come closer. What’s happening to me? I look up to see his direction. My jaw dropped when I saw a familiar figure to the crowd.
“Why are you here?” I muttered.
As i turned my gaze towards nanny and Scarlet they turned pale seeing the man in front of me together with Grog Shmann, whom I met on the ship and the man where I converse to the garden in our manor, its Fox.
“Yo….”
He gestured a quiet sign. I don’t know what that’s for. I choose to look down because, I can’t comprehend what I’m feeling right now. I’m happy seeing him at the same time confused in addition to my unsettling heart.
“What’s wrong, madam?”
“She’s not feeling well and all of this crowd here, it’s hard gasping for an air"
“What’s wrong, dear?”
Sir Frets had arrived. I looked up to see him.
“She’s not feeling well, can you carry her?’'
“N..no, nanny. I can walk”
“No, you’re feeling might be worsen if you walk right now”
“I can carry her”
Fox volunteer himself. I didn’t expect that. I heard some murmurs on the background. I know right, a handsome man dared to assist a stranger woman. He approached me then stops in front of me. He squats down, his arm was on my back while the other is on my knee. He carried me like a princess.
I felt at ease in his arms. I didn’t notice that my heart seems to calm down, right now but, I didn’t dare to tell anyone. I looked nanny and sir Frets who's in front of me. I wonder why they are walking like a soldier; their feet and hands movement is synchronize together. They’re awkwardly walking. What happened to them?
Scarlet and Amelia remained there to get things done while, Sebastian and Grog holding the luggage’s is in our back, they followed us. I can see them very well.
“Sir, if you’re tired, I can carry the lady. It’s still a long way ahead before we will arrive”
“It’s okay”
There’s a silence in the atmosphere. Nanny and Sir Frets still walking like a robot. When I’m in front of the house, he drops me slowly.
“Thank you”
“You’re always welcome”
“Then, we will go madam. I’ll introduce them to my family first and put their luggage’s there”
“Yes, yes, you can visit here anytime”
“Thank you, sir. We will never forget this help”
Fox nodded and patted my head.
“See you around, milady”
He kissed the back of my hand. Then he goes out to go to another direction. I wonder where is the house of Sebastian. And why I am thinking such thing, as if I have the rights to visit him.
“You know her, chantria?”
“Who?”
“The man who carried you here”
“Oh? I talk to him once in our garden, he told me he’s just accompanying someone noble, so I guess he’s a butler or a knight? I really don’t know him, nanny. Why?”
“No, no, I just”
Sir Frets tap the shoulders of nanny and just moving his head sideways.
“The two of you go in and rest. Dear, take care of Chantria. I’ll go back to harvest the fruits and gave it to the baker. If I’m done, I’ll come back here immediately"
Nanny just nodded and she put her arms to my waist to guide me. I told her I'm okay but she insisted on it, she told me that it's better to he careful because we don't know what might happen. Actually, I’m really okay now. But I can’t tell them because of what happened earlier.
• Sebastian’s POV
Earlier, when I saw his highness, I saw the other guy and that's I know who guided him here. I grabbed his arms and go the side where a few meters away to the prince.
“Brother”
“And, who’s going to manage our business there?”
“I’m sorry brother, it’s just that his highness is scary”
“Don’t worry, my trusted personnel handled all the matters in your guild and if something worst happen, it’s my responsibility”
I flinched when the prince answers my question. I want to vent out my anger to this Grog Shmann and blame him for not stopping his highness to go here.
“And, it would be nice if you hide my identity. Treat me like I’m your friend”
“No, I can’t possibly do that your highness. You will be treated here as the important person”
He raised an eyebrow. He grabs my sleeves that made me gulp. Only a few inches away is our faces. I can hear his breathing, if I’m a girl this would be heaven but, this is disgusting. If Scarlet was the one will do this then, I will gladly take it.
“Do it or not? Or you don’t have a place you can call home in the capital”
“If you do that, then you don’t have a place in here”
“Let's compromise then"
“If you’re my friend, you’re not going to be mad if I’ll do playful tricks to you, right? Your highness”
“Then, it would be my pleasure as I’ll tell the girl whom you loved what you did back then”
“Are your serious right, now?”
“I am”
“What does tha have to do with our deal, right now?”
“Act like a proper friend or your secret is safe with me"
“Isn’t that unfair?”
“Are you done, yet?” asked by Grog who's now, arms in akimbo while raising his eyebrow.
“What?”
“What?”
“You two are friends, already” Grog sighh at the sight of the two.
“We are not”
“Yeah, I agree”
“You two agreed in nonsense things”
“Shall I rip off your tongue to keep you silent?”
“No, brother. Please, spare me”
“I think we should go, it’s inappropriate how you treat your guest”
“Yes, brother. We waited for you for an hour”
“How fast did you get there?”
“We rode horses instead of carriage”
“Is that even possible?”
“For a prince like me? Is it?”
I sighed. Now I have to babysit two people. I’m busy courting Scarlet and now, I have to watch these two. I don’t have any longer peaceful life in here.
• Scarlet’s POV
We were in the middle of putting flowers on the bride and grooms table when Amelia approached me. I know what she’s thinking.
“Isn’t that the first prince, why is he here?”
“That, I can’t answer that question”
“Do you remember what the lady said when we have our own sleepover?”
“Yes, the one she meets at the garden”
“Isn’t Fox as in Lowell Fox Saxson, the first prince? I saw a royal carriage visited the manor”
“The head maid told me that the prince wanders around and that’s the time where the Lady is missing”
“Then, the two have already met and now, he’s here to visit the lady?”
“Or is it just a mere visit? He might have another purpose”
“Regardless of that, we should observe this and protect the lady even if it’s the first prince”
“Right, but what if he loves the Lady?”
“Is love at first sight really exist?”
“I don’t know, I didn’t experience something like that”
“But you have Sir Sebastian, right?”
“And, why are you mentioning that man right now?”
“He seems to be interested to you or should I say loved you, still?”
“No, that’s impossible. He just likes to pester me, that’s all”
“Well, I think he’s a good man and according to your dad he’s an unmarried man. You still have a chance”
“I really don’t care at all”
“Are you really sure, about that?”
“Yes”
I look at her and she’s just giving me a teasing look. I sigh, ever since we were together all of us know the unexpected characteristics of each other. I found out that Amelia is a silent type of person at first but, when she’s comfortable around with you, she’s a good kid, a talkative as well as likes to tease. While, the Lady, there seems a lot changes about her. Her atmosphere is more approachable unlike in the past. She talks a lot and tease me at the same time. She’s also, mature but, she has a sharp tongue to those people she doesn’t like. She’s a fighter, a really strong woman. I really do admire her. That’s why there’s more reason to stay with her until she found her happiness.
Until that time comes, I’ll stop my heart thumping whenever Sebastian is near. I admit I still love him. It never fades away. If he’s willing to wait then, I’ll swear I’ll never let that man go.
