CHAPTER 11
I woken up by the sun rays that touches my skin. I rest my head on the headboard. It’s a good day for traveling.
“Good day! Milady, have you sleep well?”
“Uhmm, slight?”
“We can rest at the ship, milady. It takes half a day to arrive there”
I nodded at them. I know the two of them had a lack of sleep. The yesterdays event…
This is my first time someone sleeping over to my room. We ate dinner and I let them prepare some snacks and wine to indulge ourselves. Also, I assigned them to take a big blankets as well as foams and more pillows.
They were confused why I wanted that but, they didn’t asked. Scarlet thought it was a souvenir.
They helped me, arranged the sheets and foams on the floor. After that, the three of us are going to sleep together. They complain and didn’t agree but, in the end we have come to a conclusion. I will sleep on my bed, while they are going to sleep on the floor.
We were talking a lot of things. Our love lives. I didn’t know that Scarlet have a lover in their town but broken up because the boy can’t take a long distance relationship while, Amelia didn’t experience such things.
Of course, I don’t have a love life in this life. I told them the encounter of Sir Fox on the garden. I don’t know why but their expression changed when I mentioned Fox to them. When I asked, why? Or what is it they know that I didn’t know?
They just shrugged their shoulders and changed the topic. We have a blast night.
We played some cards, truth and dare. At first, they didn’t know what’s that game then I told them the mechanics and we played them. They didn’t treat me as the Lady of the house but, as their friend. I’m glad with that, and I saw the two of them drunk. Maybe, that’s why they treated me like that.
It was fun. Take note that I didn’t drink wine, it’s bad for my baby. I only eat some pastries and drink milk.
“How was your condition and Amelia?”
“I have headaches milady, but it’s okay. I can deal with it and I think Amelia was okay. I cooked a soup for me and her”
“It’s her first time, after all”
Amelia was on the kitchen, drinking soup. Why is it whenever I walked I felt like I’m floating? Is this the after effects of the alcohol? Urghh.. I don’t want to drink that again but, last night was so fun.
“What’ are you smiling all about?”
“Uhhh, rina”
“Yeah, it’s me. I heard the three of you were partying last night”
“And?”
“What were you doing?”
“Is that your business?”
“Listen, here you brat”
“No, I won’t listen and will never be”
I hurriedly drink the soup that Scarlet cooked for me. I don’t want this to go waste just because this lady keeps pestering me.
She grabbed my bowl and throw it away. I didn’t expected her to do that. Luckily, there’s only a little amount left.
“Why did you do that?”
“Oh? Sorry, my hand slipped”
I grabbed the water beside me and splash it at her face.
“Oh? I’m very sorry Rina, I have a sweaty hands that I slipped my water”
“Y…you!!”
She shrieked in anger. Before, she can pull my hair, I walked out to the kitchen hurriedly and goes back to the room of milady. I heard her scream my name but I don’t care. She deserved that.
“What happened?”
Chantria furrowed her eyebrows when she saw Amelia rushed to her room.
“It’s Rina, she’s causing a trouble. So, I escaped here milady”
“I need to do something about her when I came back”
There was a knocked on the door. It was Rina, telling me to go outside because the coach is already here.
When I walked outside. My mother, Sir Oliver and the Head Maid was already there. The browned stagecoach was in front of me. Amelia and Rina started to put our things inside.
“Sir Oliver, head maid! Please take care of the duchess while I’m away”
“Yes, milady”
“You can rest assured, we will do that even if you didn't asked to”
“Thank you, Sir Oliver”
“Be careful, okay? Write me some letter about your conditions”
“Yes mother and”
“Hmm?”
“Please don’t allow people to take an advantage of your goodwill. Someone will stab your back. If I am strong enough to handle my situation. I know you can settle things even if it’s hard, as I am your daughter. We were born as a fighter”
“what do you mean?”
“Mother, there’s a snake waiting for it’s prey but, if that’s prey is strong enough to fight, then a snake is an easy-peasy enemy”
“W..what?”
I hugged her and whisper. “I know everything”
After that I walked away and entered the stagecoach. I waved at her. She was shocked to what I said. I know there are multiple questions that she wanted to ask me but, that’s all I can do for now. It’s up to her the next move.
I took up the courage to say that to her. I keep contemplating a thousand times in my head whether I will tell her or not but, I want to save her. I wanted her to see how disgusting that man is. I wanted her to punished that man in her own hands. I know she will hate that man to the core.
“Your grace, what did she said?”
“She told me, she know everything"
“What!” Sir Oliver shouted. He didn’t anticipated this will happened.
“Investigate Walter at once, and do this with privacy. Make sure he will not escaped, he must pay for what he did”
