“Where are you taking me?”
“Just come with me and don’t ask questions.”
“What about Via?”
“Mom and your mom will take care of her, don’t worry. Cassandra is also there to do some babysitting.”
I am currently inside the car with Cameron. He’s driving, for who knows where. He just told me earlier to pack some clothes because we’ll go somewhere.
I just sighed and stayed silent while looking outside the car. I really felt so down after having that conversation with Cameron’s father yesterday. I suddenly reflected on my life, and I could say that he really has a point. Cameron didn’t say anything about it, he just made me pack my stuffs and leave with him.
Gosh, why is living so tiring? It’s so high maintenance and you rarely enjoy it. The reason I love living these days is just because of Via and Cameron, but other than that? Eh.
I ended up falling asleep. I just woke up when the Car stopped moving.
“Are we here?” I asked.
“Yes, shall we?” Cameron went out first and opened the car door for me. I looked around and saw paradise.
“Wow, I never knew Casterdale has something this beautiful.”
“I rented the whole resort for just the two of us. I planned this as a celebration for your catwalk comeback.”
“But it didn’t turn out well.”
“You still did amazing. It’s not always about the results, sometimes it’s just about the progress. And I know, how hard you worked and prepared for that. So, let’s go inside and enjoy ourselves.”
As we enter the resort, a bunch of employees welcomed us. Cameron wasn’t kidding when he said that he rented the whole resort just for us.
“Isn’t it scary? It’s just us in here.”
“There are employees. It’s nice, we have the whole place and we have nothing to worry about.”
“How much did you spend on this? Seriously?”
“Does it matter?” He grabs my waist and pulls me closer to him. “I’m willing to spend fortunes for you. Even if it takes millions, if that’s the price that I have to pay to be with you forever; then I will gladly pay for it.”
“Didn’t you know? I’m priceless. No money is worth Savannah Harris.” We both chuckled. He slowly leans closer and our lips touches. I wrapped my arms around his neck as we passionately kiss. We stopped after few minutes.
“Should we continue or should we go around the resort first?”
“I prefer the second option.”
“I prefer the first though.”
“Well, I’m the one you asked so isn’t it just right for you to follow me?”
“I shouldn’t have asked.” I just chuckled and walked away to change my clothes. After a couple of minutes, we went out and walked outside the resort. The view is really mesmerizing!
“This is really beautiful. How didn’t I know about this place?”
“You probably didn’t leave the city that much, didn’t you?”
“You’re right. I was always working and... I have no one to go with anyway.”
He suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist. He hugged me from the back which gave me comfort.
“Just tell me wherever you want go, me and Via will gladly come with you.”
“I’m hungry.” He just chuckled and we went to eat at the resort’s restaurant.
Me and Cameron are just happily talking and laughing while we eat. All the pain I had in the past is worth it because I found Cameron. It was worth the wait. Our beginning wasn’t really ideal but it doesn’t matter. What matters most is we’re together with our daughter.
“Do you want to swim?’ he asked.
“Should we? Let’s go get changed first.”
After eating, we went back to our room to change. We went to the pool together after. This is the most peaceful day in my life. Just me with the man of my life.
“Are you having fun?”
“Of course! This is the best day of life! Actually, maybe the second best.”
“What’s the first?”
“When I gave birth to Aviana. Well, you had an accident on the same day so it’s quite memorable. But it’s still the best since Aviana came into the world that day.”
“So,” he swims towards me and corners me at the edge of the pool. “Is that night included in your top five best moments?”
“What night?”
“Oh, are you playing dumb right now?” Oh, gosh. His husky and seductive voice. I put my hand on his chest like I’m seducing him but then suddenly pushed him. I swam away and then I looked back and smirked seductively.
“Does it matter? Rather than being at the top five, won’t you like it better if I was on top of you?” I turned and swam away.
I got of the pool and one of the resort’s staff approached and handed me a box.
At this point, I just have instant anxiety whenever I receive a box or any package.
“What is this?” I asked.
“It was left at the front desk and your name is written as the receiver.”
“There’s no sender?” Cameron, who just approached us, asked.
“It was just left in the front desk. We didn’t see who left it.”
“Throw it away. We’re not accepting or expecting any package at the moment.” Cameron was about to hand the package back to the staff but then something started ringing.
“Babe, I think it’s coming from inside the box.” Cameron was hesitant to open it but I grabbed it from him and aggressively opened the box. There’s a keypad phone inside and it is ringing. I answered the call hesitantly. “Hello?”
[Greetings, Savannah. Are you enjoying your vacation with Cameron?] The voice is weird and I call tell that he or she is using a voice changer.
“Who is this?”
[Someone? But sorry to say, you won’t be able to enjoy your vacation any longer. I want to play a game with you.]
“Who the fuck is this?!”
[Do you want to play hide and seek? I will hide something—I mean someone—from you, and try your best to find it before it’s too late. Also, the phone will explode in five seconds.] As soon as I heard that, I immediately threw the phone as far as I can and it exploded.
“Are you okay?!” Cameron asked. “What was that all about? Who was it?”
“I don’t know! The person used voice changer and said weird things.”
“Like what?”
“Play hide and seek?” Just seconds after I said that, another phone started ringing. This time, it’s Cameron’s phone. I was still shocked on the explosion, when I just heard Cameron shouting.
