60: Chapter Sixty

It’s been two hours, and I am now done preparing. I am wearing my bridal gown, tiara with the veil, and the shoes my brothers gave me. I still can’t believe they spent that kind of money for these shoes.
I am just waiting inside the hotel room until it’s time to leave. I am holding my flower bouquet and I kept looking at the mirror, making sure that everything is perfect.
Nothing can go wrong today so I keep checking even the smallest details on my overall look.
Five minutes later, one of my bodyguards came in.
“Miss, it’s time to leave the hotel.” I took a deep breath and one last look on the mirror before walking towards the door.
There’s a barrier, made out of cloth with poles carried by my bodyguards, to protect and cover me from the media.
There’s a lot of reporters and paparazzi all over the hotel, waiting to take photos of me and my wedding look. We decided that no photos shall spread on the internet before I enter the cathedral. We can’t really control all people so we just decided to have a protective barrier as I exit the hotel.
I can’t see anything in front of me, and I only rely on my assistant. I could see the floor so I was able to watch my steps. Few minutes later, we reached the van. They immediately closed the door after I entered. I was relieved that nothing went wrong.
We finally arrived at the Cathedral after almost thirty-minutes of drive. I went out of the car and walked towards the huge doors, that are both closed.
“Ma’am, I’ll now put down your veil. You could start walking once the doors completely opens. Your father is waiting half through the aisle,” said by the wedding coordinator. I just nodded, since I couldn’t speak because or nervousness. She puts down the veil that covers my face.
I keep taking deep breaths as I wait for the doors to open. I have never been this nervous before! I am someone who has a lot of self-esteem and confidence, and facing a crowd was never my problem, but today, I won’t be surprised if I end up peeing on myself.
Suddenly, the doors started to open. I took one last deep breath, and I finally saw the inside of the cathedral. Everybody is standing and looking at me.
At the end of the aisle, I saw Cameron, with Stefano at his back, standing. I also saw dad waiting at the middle part of the aisle.
I started walking, and every step I make makes me more nervous. The orchestra is playing a beautiful melody that makes me want to cry. Why is the aisle so long?! I want to reach the end so badly! I always wanted to be the center of attention, but I feel like all the gazes and stares at me today is too much.
I finally reached where dad is waiting. He offered me his arms and I awkwardly put my hands on it. I almost forgot this part.
“I’ll say this once. Congratulations and I hope you live a life with your new family far from how you lived with us. Make sure to become a different parent... different from who you hated all your life,” he said as we walk down the aisle.
“Thank you. After all, without you I won’t be alive. Thank you for bringing me to life, and walking me towards the man of my life.”
He didn’t response after that. I kept all smiles as I look to the guests and, of course, to Cameron. We finally reached the end. Dad handed my hand to Cameron, and then both of us went to our designated sit in front of the altar.
“You look stunning,” Cameron whispered.
“You look so handsome too. I chose the right man.” The priest entered which stopped me and Cameron from chatting.
“We are all gathered here today to celebrate the union of two loving hearts of this man and woman. Before we official start, are there any objection on the union of this loving couple? Speak now or silence yourself forever.” There was silence until we heard a shout, but unexpectedly it’s from Aviana.
I turned around and saw mom struggling with Aviana who’s throwing a tantrum.
“Unfortunately, I won’t consider that as an objection little one,” the priest jokingly said which brought laughter. “Now that there is no objection, we will proceed with the ceremony.”
Minutes later, we reached the part where we exchange our vows. I went first so I took the microphone.
“Hi!” I awkwardly said which caused laughter to us and to the guests. “Honestly, I didn’t prepare anything for the vows. I said to myself that I should just say everything in my mind, but I guess that won’t work since being overwhelmed made an error on my brain.” Another set of laughter echoed the place. I took a deep breath before speaking again.
“A lot of men around me brought me pain and I thought that trusting a man would be impossible, but then you came. You brought out the best in me. You fixed me in every way you can. You and Aviana, coming into my life, is the best gift the universe gave me. I promise to be faithful to you until the last breath I take. I would fix you, just like how you fixed me. I’ll do everything to be the best wife and mother. You and Aviana are now my everything, I would never lose you both. I love you even after death. I love you my bodyguard, my CEO and my man.” He took the mic from me and smiled before speaking.
“It feels like it was just yesterday when I had a fight with dad because I wanted to apply to be your bodyguard just so I can stay close to you. I really did a lot of crazy things for love, and it was all worth it. Our beginning wasn’t really a fairytale, but I’ll make sure to have our happy ending by all means. Every second, every day, my wait for you is worth it. Even if I have to go back in time but I have to wait double or maybe triple the original time, I would still wait because it’s worth it. My love for you will stay the same even after ten lifetimes. I will find you no matter where you go. I will do anything for you, my love. You are my world. You and Aviana are my life. I love you so much, Savannah. I promise to never break a single piece of your heart. You deserve the world, and I’ll give you that. I love you.”
Next, we started to exchange rings. Stefano approached and gave us our rings.
“I, Savannah Harris, give you this ring as a symbol of my eternal love. My everlasting and unconditional love, from today until my last breath.”
“I, Cameron Zach, give you this ring as symbol of my eternal love. Like its shape, a circle with no end, my love for you will be the same; endless.”
Few more moments, and we finally reached the end of the ceremony.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife; you may kiss the bride!” As soon as the priest said that, Cameron lifted my veil and smiled before pulling me for a kiss.
Cheers and shouts surrounded the cathedral. We faced the guests with smiles on our face.
We took some photos with our family and acquaintances. After that, we headed outside the cathedral and I prepared to throw the flower bouquet.
“Ready?! I’m going to throw it!” I counted one to three before throwing it. I immediately turned around and saw Cassandra holding the flower.
“No! Can we do it again?!” Cameron shouted.
“We can’t! Don’t be a party pooper!” I said while laughing.
We all started leaving the cathedral to proceed at the hotel for the reception.
