47: Chapter Forty-Seven

I burst in to Via’s room and immediately picked her up from her crib.
“Oh, gosh! Thank goodness you’re okay,” I worriedly said as I hug my daughter. Cameron also came and hugged us.
I was worried that something happened to her. The loud noise scared the shit out of me.
“Savannah, what was inside of this vault?” I turned to Stefano and saw the vault broken and opened.
“The PC tablet you gave me was in there.”
“Is anything else missing? You should check.” Cameron started checking the room of Via as well as our room. “Why is the PC tablet here in Via’s room?” Stefano asked.
“I thought it would be safer here. I mean, if intruders come, the first thing they’ll search is our room and the study. I thought they won’t take interest in a baby’s room so I kept it in here.”
“Nothing else is missing. It’s not even messy and I think they didn’t search our room,” Cameron said.
“Only the vault is open and nothing else seems to have been touched. It means that whoever the intruder is, knew what and where their target is,” Stefano said.
“First, I think we should move out. Babe, let’s stay in my parent’s house first.”
“The window is broken!” We went to the bathroom in Via’s room where Skyler is. We saw the window broken and there was a rope hanging. “This is probably where the intruder escaped.”
“I don’t think we should leave the house, babe,” I said. “They might comeback and take the opportunity to search the house more. We should check the security footages.”
Cameron called their company’s security team to guard the house. We went and checked the footages but the intruder wasn’t recognizable. He was wearing all black and his face is covered. We reported in to the police and gave them a copy of the footages.
We just decided to rest for the night. My brothers went home and me and Cameron went to bed with Via.
--
Five months has passed and nothing much happened. After losing the PC tablet, nothing else happened... which makes me more anxious rather than relaxed.
Via is five months now and I can’t believe it’s been that long. I got back to modeling and today, I have a fashion show to attend to.
I am now at the backstage getting dressed and preparing for the show.
“Look who’s back on the catwalk.” I just rolled my eyes when I saw and heard Bria.
“If you approached me just to bother me, better leave. I hate wasting time on useless people.”
“You should be nicer. I heard that other than Jackson, someone else is out to get you.” I stood up and faced her.
“Yeah, and guess what? You’re part of my suspect list.”
“Oh really? The question is, does it bother me? And the answer is, I don’t even care. Should I be proud to be part of your whatever list?”
“Well, I guess I should remove you.”
“Of course! I’m not that kind of person.”
“Yeah, you’re right. You can’t even be a better model than me, so how could you be a criminal? You’re just so low to be on that level.”
“I don’t know if that was an insult or—”
“It’s a compliment. It means that you’re never going to be suspected as a criminal because you’re just too dumb to be one.” I smirked at her and walked away.
I was on my way to the comfort room but saw Brian. Cheez, when will this twin leave my life?
“You’re back on the catwalk?” he asked.
“Why? Will you cheer me? Because if you would, don’t bother.” He just smiled, but it wasn’t his usual arrogant smile which made me feel weird.
“I just want to congratulate you. Also, just so you know, I changed. I’m trying to live a better life now. I realized I wasted you and I regretted it so much.”
“You just realized that now? Well, good for on trying to be better. I hope your sister does the same.”
“I really felt bad when I heard the news about Jackson. I don’t know, but if I knew you went through that... maybe I would treat you better.”
“That... that won’t be love but pity. If you knew and changed, I would think you just pity me. Leaving you was the best decision in my life. I now have Cameron and our daughter. I found my safe space, so I hope you’ll find yours too.” I smiled at him and walked away. I stopped when I heard him speak.
“I loved you... but I realized it too late. I still do, and I’m happy for you.” I didn’t turn and just walked away. Maybe it’s some closure that I waited for? It was really a new Brian, but I’m glad he’s trying to change for the better.
I just did my business in the bathroom and went back. The show started and I opened the fashion show with my first outfit.
I saw mom, my brothers, Cameron with Via, as well as my in-laws.
I’m now on the fourth outfit and currently walking on the catwalk. Suddenly, I felt something wrong with the dress. I did the fitting three days ago and this dress should be a bit heavier. The one I’m wearing is lighter and I feel weird because of it.
I’m almost at the center of the catwalk, when suddenly water was poured to me. I looked above and saw a bucket.
“Oh, my gosh! Her dress is melting!” As soon as I heard that, I looked down on my dress and saw it breaking. Oh, my gosh! I’m going to be naked at this point!
Cameron suddenly jumped on the stage and wrapped me with his blazer. He carried me and immediately brought me to my dressing room.
My stylist and the designer of the dress entered the room.
“What the fuck happened?!” I angrily screamed. Cameron wraps a blanket to fully cover my body.
“T-This is not the dress I designed! Why is it dissolving?”
“Why are you asking me?! I almost got naked in the stage!”
“I don’t know! Did some alter the dress?”
Suddenly, someone came into my mind. I changed my clothes first before storming out of the room to confront that person.
