Chapter Fifty eight- Been Shot

Chapter Fifty eight-
Been Shot
Sheila’s POV
I came out of the meeting after being recognized by the executives in the company, now the problem laid in if I would remember the next day what had being said there. So I took out my diary and write everything down, I got out and called King’s number several times but he didn’t answer. I was confused, ‘is he still angry with me’ I thought.
I took a taxi and made my way home, a few meters away and I saw Lydia running towards my home.
The taxi stopped in front of my house and I got down to see Lydia staring at me and out of breath. I walked quickly to her and asked of what was wrong with her.
“Hey what’s going on? Where are you going in a hurry?” I asked.
She blinked severally and then raised and said,
“Aaron… he is been shot…I’m going to inform his mother. ”
I became confused and asked in fear,
“The Aaron I know?”
She nodded and I held her hand and asked to go with her. I hadn’t paid the taxi driver so he had not gone away, I pulled her to it and asked the driver to drive us to Aaron’s place. Lydia told him where to go and I asked her what happened?
“I don’t know, he was shot a few meters away from your house. I heard the gun shot in my bedroom so I hid quietly but then I saw Aaron’s call coming in. I picked it up and the only thing he said was,
‘go to my mother I’ve been shot nearby your house but don’t come looking for me. I will be at survivor hospital.’
Then he hanged up, I tried calling him back but the phone was switched off. ” said Lydia.
The car stopped and I saw that he wasn’t actually far from where I was living. We got down from the car but this time I paid the driver and he went away. A woman came out of the house with a shopping bag in her hands, looking at her resemblance with Aaron, I knew she was his mom and I was right.
Lydia ran to her and quickly hugged her and said sobbing,
“Mom, Aaron has been shot. ”
The woman became shocked she stepped back and looked at Lydia and asked,
“What did you say has happened to my son?”
“This silly girl she doesn’t know how to even speak. ” I muttered.
So I got closer to his mom and said,
“Mom, don’t be afraid he is fine, he was the one that called to inform. It was just a scratch, in fact he said he would be at Survivor hospital. How about we go and visit her?” I asked trying to act calm even though a volcano was building inside of me which I didn’t even understand.
She nodded hurriedly and we charted another taxi to take us there. The woman trembled in shock as tears kept pouring down her eyes, I gave her my handkerchief and she wiped her eyes with it. She looked at me closely and asked,
“You are Sheila right?”
I was surprised but then said,
“Yes please I am Aaron’s friend. ”
“Of course he is a friend to you but you are more to him. ”she said and looked outside the window.
I wanted to pry further but stopped, it wasn’t good for the occasion.
We got to the hospital and she rushed to the nurses and asked of the name of her son’s ward.
“Aaron Thompson, please where is his ward? He was shot a few minutes ago. ”
She checked her computer and said,
“He is in surgery mum please wait at the visitors station. ”
“No please where is the surgery going on?” asked his mom.
“The theater upstairs please. ” said the nurse.
She didn’t say anything more and made her way there. I muttered a thank you to the nurse and made my way behind her. We got to the place with Lydia and waited for them to finish the surgery.
A little later and Lydia bent over, she held her stomach and covered her mouth then muttered,
‘‘God I feel so nauseous ’’
We turned in her direction and I asked,
“Lid, are you okay?”
She nodded and straighten up, a few seconds later and she went back to that position. Aaron’s mom saw her condition and said,
“My child, you can leave here for a moment and get yourself something to eat. Do you feel uncomfortable in hospitals?”
She shook her and said,
“No it’s the first time today, I have been feeling nauseous nowadays, I think I should visit a doctor in one of these days. ” she said scratching her head.
“Yes you should and then you are already in the hospital why don’t you go for some check ups before you go?” asked his mom.
“Mom I will when Aaron comes out of the theater. ” she said stretching.
“Okay do anything can happen, you might not be sick at all…” said his mom.
We both looked in her way confused at her insinuation.
