Chapter sixty four
Eighteen Years Ago
Kings POV.
It had been hectic in the two weeks she was sleeping so many things had happened but she had no knowledge of it. I had gotten all the evidence of the crimes committed against her and her family. And the truth behind her mother’s death Juliet Daniels alias Pamela Sharon was nowhere to be found after she ran away when the police were going for her. I watched her as she slept on the bed in her dreams and only wished the best for her. As I was thinking about Sheila, I heard a knock on the door, I opened up to reveal her father and Ben. I gave them way in and was about to tell them to be quiet but saw that she had her eyes opened.
She looked at her dad closely and he looked back at her with tears in his eyes. She blinked a few times and surprisingly whispered,
Dad, when did you grow so old, I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages, where have you being.
Mr. Sharon immediately broke down, he held her palm and knelt down beside her then in a hoarse voice asked her to forgive him,
Baby pie I am so sorry daddy couldn’t protect you against this harsh world, am really sorry you had to go through all that.
She stretched her palm and cleaned his eyes and whispered back,
There’s no need to be sorry daddy I know you were busy, you know I had being a good girl as you told me to be just that I stubbornly fell sick.
No you weren’t stubborn, sickness is inevitable, you can’t stop it.
We stood at the side watching them in their emotional state, Ben also had tears in his eyes and I knew he wanted to get closer to her too but was hesitating. So I tapped him and asked him to go to them but he shook his head and said with a hoarse voice,
“I wouldn’t want to stress her but it’s good that she recognized Dad right?”
He said and cleaned his eyes.
I knew how he felt because I had gone through the same thing before. It wasn’t easy when you so badly want someone to know who you are but they are not.
But then fortunately she looked his way and said,
He looks so much like Ben, Dad, where is Ben?
We all looked at her shocked and surprisingly asked together,
You remember Ben?
She nodded and said,
I remember Ben my elder brother, he didn’t come with you?
Ben rushed to her and cried as if he had been beaten, Sheila watched him in tears and also cried,
I walked to her and asked,
Why are you crying?
She shook her head and said she didn’t know why, I then told her to look at Ben well and think of her brother as eighteen years more than she had in her memory. She then got up from the bed and raised Ben’s head from the bed and whispered,
Brother Ben? Where have I been all this while? The last time I remember Daddy was leaving for abroad and you were beside me at the airport.
Ben nodded sobbing and answered,
You remember correctly just that you got sick and everything after, you don’t remember. ”
I am sorry baby sis, I couldn’t protect you as much as I wanted to. The time I could it was too late.
No don’t be, it’s my fault I fell ill, I should have taken good care of myself. But Dad, Ben, where is mom? She didn’t come with you? I knew she wouldn’t. She might be angry with me because she had told me all the time not to eat sweets but I didn’t comply. I always ate them secretly with bro Ben.
Ben smiled and replied
Those were good times but no I didn’t eat the sweets with you, I only stole them for you.
Sheila laughed and said laughing,
Come on take some of the blame, am I the only one to be blamed here?
We all laughed but we knew what we were ignoring, we didn’t want to bring her any sad news then. So I rang the bell for the doctor to come in and told her to take her medications. She nodded but then looked at once again and said,
You really look like a boy I saw once at the ghetto in L country, but he couldn’t be you right? But then it was eighteen years ago.
Ben and Mr Sharon looked my way but I only smiled looked at her and told her that,
I may be him or not but wait till you see my childhood pictures.
She nodded and laid on the bed but then she suddenly asked,
Who is Aaron?...
