Chapter sixty two You are her tragedy.

Chapter sixty two
Sheila’s picture displayed on it and they were saying she was sick from brain hemorrhage, she was almost like an dementia patient and the police were looking for her because she had being out of her house for a week. I digested the news and recalled all that had happened in the week we’ve been together and saw that what they were saying was actually the truth. But revealing her ailment because a grown up had gone out of the house for a week wasn’t something to be down normally.
Because her doctor diagnosis sheets were also displayed on the television and I knew someway King might have known about it and would have never allowed this to happen. So then it seems it wasn’t just the two of them that knew about her ailment but her mother could also have known. I got out of the bed ready to find out the brains behind the defamation and I could only find out from Juliet Scott, the daughter of a police officer and housewife.
Who was a prostitute a few years back before she went into plastic surgery and changed into Pamela Sharon’s, Sheila’s mom. I had investigated that woman and found all the truth about her, she wasn’t Ben’s or Sheila’s real mom but with her cunning plan she entered the household.
I took out my cellphone and chatted my mother,
“Mom, how are you doing?”
“I’m good son, any progress in your situation?”
“Yes I am alive and healthy now. ”
“No I was talking about your relationship with Sheila, how is it going? You know that child is a good child, and word from me, and she is still with you. ”
“Yes she is mom, that’s the more reason I need her in my life. Okay gotta go bye. ”
I hanged up the phone and took some clothes from my bag and dressed up not forgetting to put my cap on, so I don’t get recognized by the doctors. I got out of the building and made my way out of the gates, I saw people gathered at a point a little away from the hospital and a few nurses rushing to the place.
I was about to go from there when I saw that pink dress and I remembered that Sheila had dressed that way too. So I drew near to the place then they took her on the wheel bed that was when I noticed it was actually…
Another week passed and she led in bed oblivious of anything around her, she didn’t remember anything or anyone. I really wanted to call someone to inform them about her but I couldn’t bring myself to the reason, I wanted to take care of her alone. And make sure she was okay but I wasn’t getting a donor from anywhere, everyone that was brought in wasn’t a eligible for her. And the reason she freaked out on me, she revealed to me before she forgot everything. She had seen the tattoo on my hip when I raised my arm to hold her hand and it was the same tattoo that was on one of the rapists body.
And it was at the same place so she was assured that I was the other one with the rapist. That was the reason she was so shocked and broken down and the doctors confirmed that it was because of a circumstance she was determined to forget that rushed up her ailment and finally kept her to bed. I had blocked King’s number and switched it off but I knew he could still track her number if he wanted.
Even though he had traveled abroad on business, he could have still contacted her through other means. I also found out about who was behind the defamation and disclosure of Sheila’s ailment and it was none other than Eva. King’s ex girlfriend but I didn’t know why she had to do that but then it didn’t escape the doings of Juliet with her hand in it, it became successful in minutes.
I was in the room thinking about all this when I heard a knock on the door but I wasn’t expecting any visitors and the doctor had just left the room. I got up and took my gun from the desk beside her bed and slowly opened the door but I didn’t see anyone, I looked at the both sides of the hallway and saw no one. But then something touched me and I looked down to see a child before me with a frown on her face and she asked,
“Are you saying you didn’t see me because I ain’t tall? Anyways is that mommy Sheila’s room?”
“Mommy… Sheila? Sheila? Mommy? Sheila is here but she isn’t a mommy. ” I stuttered and looked down at her confused.
“Okay if you have Sheila in there then move aside. ” She said and pushed herself through the small space into the room and entered. I shouted after her but she overlooked as already inside, she stood by the end of the bed and looked at Sheila with tears in her eyes. I looked at her and questioned,
“Child who are you and how do you know Sheila?”
“She is my mommy, who are you?” She asked still looking at Sheila in sorrow.
“Who I am is not necessary, who brought you in here? Who did you come here with?” I asked curiously.
“Who is questioning me here? My father will be here soon, he is seeing the doctors for the surgery. ” She said stubbornly and walked closer to Sheila
“And your father is..” I continued asking.
She went closer to her and held her hand and whispered sobbing,
“Mommy feels so cold, mom why are you cold?”
“I asked who your father is child. ” I stated once again getting irritated, I had an idea who she was and wanted to confirm but she wasn’t helping in anyway.
Then a voice sounded behind the door and the door opened to reveal him, the one I dreaded so much no to see or hear from or better still dead.
“I am her father and I am here for my fiancée. ” He stated brazenly and authoritatively.
My heart jumped out of my body but I wasn’t giving in so easily.
“Fiancée? She won’t even recognize you if she was to see you now. ” I sneered.
“And neither would she you. It’s time for the surgery the doctor will be here in a few minutes for her. ” He smirked.
“You are taking her nowhere, I am her keeper now, she will be taken care of by me. ” I stated firmly and angrily.
“Even if we have a donor now and she will be fine in a week after the surgery?” He asked looking straight into my eyes, my will faltered and I looked down.
My hand holding her palm shook and I knew that I had to let her go but the will wasn’t coming. The doctors came in and wanted to push her out but I still held unto her but then surprisingly, King pulled out a gun and commanded,
“Let go of her, the police are coming for you. You are her tragedy and you are part of the reason she is lying there lifeless. ”
I left the bed and they pushed it out, He was on point and I was defeated, but the reason why the police was coming for me, I didn’t understand so I wanted to ask him but I only saw their retrieving back.
