I took a moment to breathe, letting off that bad energy steam that now surrounding my body because of Xander and everyone in that house currently. I was now starting to rethink running away again like Damon suggested.
Both Damon and I didn't have the strength to deal with his family's involvement in everything---- the effect of living in an extended family, there is just no privacy. I also feel it was because of this that pushed Damon to loose his mind and start drinking while having an affair with his secretary.
Like dealing with the business world wasn't enough and now this. Now more than ever I was determined to find the lost pages--- torn out pages of Elizabeth diary and for that we all need to return back to the mansion where it all began, it is high time I give back what they dished out..... Starting with Beatriz.
To bring down fall, you need to start with the strongest there is.... and right now the only person that will not fall was Beatriz but I have a feeling that the green folder that Xander found in Beatriz's room was where her secret lies, I just need to find my way back in again despite the hatred from everyone.... Damon was my key, I just need to tell everything to him.
I went back into the the house and to my surprise, there I saw a happy family sharing dinner together like nothing had happened an hour ago. Everyone was seated not excluding Damon.
"Priscilla please join us, you shouldn't miss out on a delicious meal courtesy of Mrs Carlotta" Alicia said pushing out a seat next to her while urging me to seat on it, her smile said a lot about her intention so I ignored her and went straight to Damon.
Whisphering into his ear, I sought his audience privately and he got up to leave only for Beatriz stop us by saying, "isn't it rude to leave your food half way?" She was more focused on cutting her steak than looking at us, "I believe anything that important should be said in front of all us, isn't that right?" She looked at Alicia and the others for support and they all agreed with her. Beatriz took a perfectly cut piece of her steak and chewed with elegance.
Alicia had crossed her legs and relaxed her back on the chair not minding to wipe away the evil grin on her face as she patiently waited for another explosion.
"What you want to tell me can it wait, let's have dinner first" Damon said, he pulled out a chair at his right and allowed me seat on it. "Since you all are open for a discussion I guess I should tell you that I have decided to transfer all of my property into Liliana's name...."
"What!?" Both Beatriz and Alicia yelled at the same time, which brought in Brian and Madame Carlotta to the table, I understand Beatriz reason to yell but Alicia's..... My eyes went to both Elizabeth and Xander, was more than shock to see the two of them holding hands under the table cloth, it was also the first time I had seen Elizabeth face lit up.
"Son... Liliana is the right choice, I agree but don't you think it's too early.... I mean she can barely even talk" Beatriz said and Alicia offered her full support.
"That is why Elizabeth will be handling everything for her, henceforth... Since that has been decided I need to rest for the long drive tomorrow, I need to meet with the lawyer so everything will be finalized" Damon got up to leave and nudged me to follow him.
I hesitated a bit and saw Brian rush to him, he held Damon on the arm while pleading that he give him the vineyard for his years of service and Damon responded by saying, "The Vineyard originally belongs to Madame Carlotta" and with that Brian feigned shock as he went back to his seat.
Everything was just going too fast that I couldn't capture everyone's reaction to this but among all that was going on, I also hated the idea of Damon giving all that he had worked for to Liliana and this sudden, it was to be hers anyway.
Amidst all of this, I was able to find my way to Damon's room, he had this pleased smile on his face that he wiped away when he saw me.
"Damon what's going on?" I asked, while following him to the balcony, he didn't respond.
It took a while before he said something that was unexpected of him, "Greed..." He looked at me when he said that, his eyes were so cold as he spoke further, "Do you know why we prioritize money so much?" He paused, "Because of greed.... Money they say is the root of all evil" he let out a laugh and I was left bewildered by his behavior.
"What game are you playing?" I suddenly started feeling shaken by the Damon I was seeing.
"Are you familiar with the game called chess?" He said smiling, "This is it only that the rules has been tweaked a little.... In this game you mustn't touch your queen if you do, it shows how weak you are...." He shifted his gaze away from me, "I heard your conversation with Xander today about you wanting to have a child for me.... I will have you know that everybody are my pawns and I control them, you watched as they all clamour for a peice of my wealth..."
"Damon..."
He looked at me, his eyes calmer now, "Don't pity me... You don't know what I have in mind just because I act like their puppet and do everything for them, everybody I know are greedy for what I own, Beatriz, Xander, Elizabeth, Rachel and now you.... Do you think when you give me a child that you will be giving me a family? No! Cause that child will be born out of wedlock because we are not married.... I can't have you ruin yourself because of me, you made my enemy your enemy, you are sleeping with me without thinking of the consequences...."
I knew when I lifted my hands up I was going to slap him on the face but what I didn't know that he knew what I had in mind as he stopped and pressed me to the wall.
"Do you think I slept with you for a child? I fucking love you Damon!" I screamed in his face then realization hit me, "All of this grand gesture you were doing, visiting me when I lost my mother, taking me away from the world.... Was all this a charade, were you playing me? This time I want a direct response from you and don't give me that crap about loving me cause now I know that I all of this to you was just a silly chess game..."
He let go of my hand but still had me pinned to the wall, I wouldn't lie that I wasn't shaking cause I was, I was even at the verge of peeing in pants as beads of sweat rolled from my forehead down to my knee....
"I needed a reason to lure my family out of the mansion so I could get something out of there and the idea of me running away from my wedding and being with someone that I..... that they all already believed I might be having an affair with was the best disguise, your mum dying and my affection we're all real and my plan wasn't suppose to be at your mum's expense and I am not glad things turn out that way"
The height to which he was willing to go, for some stupid reason I wanted this to be a dream and when I do wake up the sweet Damon that I knew and loved so much will be showering me with kisses and not all of this.... He made me weak and useless that now I looked at him with spite.
"Was Madame Carlotta in on this too? Cause she said that you loved me and that..."
"She wasn't, all I said to her was the truth only that the person was different" he said coldly showing no sign of remorse for all that he had done to me.
I wanted to cry but not in front of him, somewhere far from here will suffice.... A shameful surrogate was just as he saw me, he used me and yet didn't want to give a full reason why he did all of this to me, a while ago he wanted to go away with but why the sudden change of heart.
"I hate you! And I pray that no woman will ever love you like I have, Elizabeth will continue to look at you as the man that loves her and not her loving you. You don't deserve anybody's affection and your family... They might be a handful but they suit you perfectly, bunch of foolish rich people who hate on themselves for no actual reason, now am not surprised you might've murdered Rachel, maybe even order someone to kill Elizabeth just because she didn't reciprocate the love you always wanted from her, because that is the kind of person that you are" I spat out fearlessly, pushed him away and ran to my room even though he didn't chase me.
I did not cry, just packed my things and got prepared to leave, there was no use staying here when nothing belongs to me. Even the person I thought loved me was only an obsessed lover.
I forcefully dragged my box out of my room without thinking about where I was heading to at this very hour, they all had retired to their rooms but murmurs we're loudly heard as they strategize on what not, the sound came from Beatriz room.
I was already at the door when Xander saw me, "Where are you going?" I rolled my eyes as I dragged the box further out of the house, he kept bugging me so much that I pushed my box which it fall down the stairs and sent all of my things to different places.
Without folding them again and with the rush to get out of here, I repacked my box with Xander's help that I didn't ask for, I couldn't even look at him especially after our altercation that led to me saying things that I regret a bit of now that Damon had shown me his true colors.
I pulled on the box again and Xander stopped me, "This must belong to you" he gave me ta part of the earrings Damon bought for me at the market place the other day when we went out, though it was cheap I still loved it cause it came from him, a drop of tear fell from my eyes as I collected it from Xander.
From the earrings I was able to see Damon's reflection on it, he will be thinking that I still wanted to keep something of him, I took out the other part of the earring and dispose it in the dustbin where he could see it.
As I walked away, I made sure Xander be put in his place when he offered to give me a ride. He didn't know what had happened between me and Damon but I know he will be pleased to find out that he was right about Damon after all. Damon was a total scum of the earth and I will put him in his place, you can't play with my heart and expect everything to be fine.
There was one thing I forgot to do and that was to say goodbye to Liliana. I really hoped I didn't make the mistake of bringing her to this world and into a family filled with evil and selfish blood suckers. Liliana was too innocent for all of them.
