“Mr.Kiau, you really like going to the police station.” That voice was Mr.Vred. “We meet again very soon.”
“Don’t think of it as your home, Kiau. Like me.” Izen smiled. “I’m home.” Izen approached Kiau and Vred. “We meet again very soon too Mr.Vred,” Izen waved his hand to Vred.
“You again!” Vred looked mad. “Why I meet you again?!”
“Well, that can’t be denied. We work in the same office how can we not meet.” Izen said. “Nice to met you Mr.Vred.”
Mr. Vred looked furious, Izen uses the past tense. “I’m leave. I am not in charge of this case.” Mr.Vred walked outside the room.
“Neither I am.” Izen was in front of Kiau. “I am also not in charge of your case, Kiau. I just want to see your condition. Are you okay?”
“Not really.” Kiau answered.
“I can see you are still using crutches on your hand and bandages on your foot from last time incident. And now you are getting more bandages after falling from second floor.” Izen looked at Kiau.
Izen continued, “Your mental state also shaken because of what happened to Morris.” he sighed, “Why I ask you that? It is not the time to chit chat.” he looks resigned.
“Anyway. About Niem and Tieden. I can’t find their names in the population data of this area, it’s possible that they don’t come from this area. Or worse they are not registered.” Izen said.
Izen continued, “I can’t search their data more than that. Because this isn’t an official case yet, that I can investigate further.” Izen looked at Kiau.
Suddenly the door knocked.
“Mr.Kiau Youren?” someone opened the door and came in. “I am Jihan Ernst Alvarlegt in charge of your case.” he approached Kiau. He looked at Izen at a glance, and sighed deeply.
Kiau didn’t know anything, while Izen waved his hand to Jihan.
The person that named Jihan wore a khaki suit with dark brown tie. He wore a brown glasses. He brought a notebook in his hands. Jihan’s height is not taller than Izen.
“I just want to get straight to the point. I want to ask about Mr.Gerthian’s death. Hade Gerthian, who died from a knife stab at you residence, Isn’t it?” Jihan sighed and opened his notebook.
“I don’t know his name, but if that’s the person you are referring to, then yes.” Kiau said.
“Are you still here?” Jihan looked at Izen. “This case is about your father, are you okay with that?” he sighed.
Jihan fixed his glasses, “But honestly what I want to say is why are you still here Izen Gerthian? You know I don’t like you. Don’t say anything that upsets me or interferes with the investigation. If you do it I will report you for interfering with the investigation.” Jihan said it very fast.
Izen wanted to say something but was cut off, “Don’t even dare you open your mouth.” Jihan glares at Izen.
Izen closed his mouth and made an okay sign with his hand.
“That’s good.” Jihan sighed.
“Can you tell me the chronology?” Jihen opened his bolpoin.
“That morning, suddenly he appeared at my door. At that time, the door was unlocked and Morris was visiting. Morris approached him, but he was stabbed in the stomach by that person.” Kiau said.
Kiau continued, “At first, I didn’t remember who he was. I have had memory loss since about 1 month ago after waking up from a come for 4 months. So I don’t know him.”
“I have heard about that. You got an incident and lost your memories.” Jihan looked at Kiau. “So you don’t know who he is.”
“Yes, but I remember a little memory about him. He is a politician and state officials. I did find out about him before putting it on the news.” Kiau said.
“Corruption, sexual abuse and violence against children.” Jihan said. “But it wasn’t you who raised the case, report, or published it.”
“It was Izen Gerthian who reported his father, Hade Gerthian.” Jihan looked at Izen. “That’s because you, Kiau Youren, have disappeared.” Jihan turned his head at Kiau.
“I remember that. I was kidnapped by Hade. He tried to threaten me to close the case.” Kiau said. “But after that, I don’t know what happened.”
“You was disappeared again. They found some Hade’s people killed in Hade residence. And Hade run away. The police couldn’t find him, until he came to your house that day.” Jihan said.
“He ran to me and attacked me with a knife. He said he wanted to kill me.” Kiau continued his story, “At that time, I just after writing in my room on the second floor, I brought my bolpoin. And when he attacked, I used my bolpoin to strike back.”
Kiau tell the whole story.
“It can be included as self-defense. But there is no evidence to substantiate what you say.” Jihan said after heard the whole chronology. “And there is no evidence that makes you the main culprit of this murder.”
Jihan continued, “Hade is a fugitive. And he has a motive to kill you, because you have exposed all his crimes and left him with nothing left.”
Jihan sighed, “It would be easier if there were eyewitnesses or If I could just ask Mr.Morris Syvzena. If only he didn’t disappear.”
“Did they not find him?” Kiau asked. “Did they not find pieces of his body?”
“What? Piece of his body?” Jihan looks confused.
Izen waved his hands trying to get attention. Jihan didn’t want to looked at him, he pretend didn’t see Izen.
“Umm... it looks like Izen know something.” Kiau looked at Jihan while pointing at Izen. “Don’t you let him talk?”
Jihan sighed, “Well, don’t say any jokes or nonsense. You can talk now.” Jihan looks forced to allow Izen to speak.
“Izen here.” Izen smiled.
“Just straight to the point!” Jihan fixed his glasses.
“Why are you so mean to me.” Izen looks curious. “So, just as Kiau said before. He saw Morris in the room. The room that was shattered into pieces by the bomb. Kiau is pushed by morris from the window and falls down safely. ” Izen said.
Izen continued, “But no Morris dead body was found, or even just a piece of his body.”
“What?” Kiau looks puzzled, “But I am really sure he’s there.”
“We can’t find him, Kiau.” Izen looked down.
“He was there? In that explosion?” Jihan looks confused, “Tell me the chronology.”
“When I woke up, he wasn’t in his bed. And there was blood on the floor. I followed the blood and came to a room. I opened the room, and there was Morris. He was covered in wounds and tied to a wheelchair.” Kiau said.
Kiau continued, “Probably he already knew that was a trap. He pushed me out of the window before the bomb went off.”
“Why didn’t he jump out of the window too?” Jihan looks confused. “If he did that, he would be safe.”
Kiau looked doubt, “When he pushed me, he said he killed me before and he doesn’t want do it again.” Kiau said.
Izen looked at Kiau, he wanted to say something but he couldn’t do that now. Izen knows that Kiau saw something in Morris’ blood. But Jihan is still there, so Izen can’t say it.
“What is that mean?” Jihan looks more puzzled.
“I don’t know that, I don’t remember.” Kiau said.
Jihan sighed, “Well, that’s for now.” Jihan closed his notebook. “I want to investigate the crime scene. Are you safe with this person?” Jihan asked to Kiau while pointing at Izen.
“What’s that? I have the duty of guarding the office and of course I will look after him. Am I the one in danger with a suspect of murder crime?” Izen looks dissatisfied with the treatment he receives.
Jihan sighed deeply and didn’t answer Izen’s question.
“Why are you always sigh?” Izen looked curious.
“That’s because your existence makes it hard for me to breath.” Jihen sighed again.
“What does that have to do with my existence? You should have your lungs checked at the hospital.” Izen smiled and made a thumbs up.
Jihan sighed deeply and walked outside the room. Jihan ignored him.
“Why so many people doesn’t like you.” Kiau looked at Izen. “If there wasn’t Morris, I think I would hate people like you too.”
“Is that a compliment?” Izen confused, whether he is happy or not at Kiau’s words.
