Kiau woke up with the faint scent of blood entering hid nose. He opened his eyes slowly. He turned his head to the right, Morris was not in his bed. He turned his head to the left, there were a blood on the floor.
The bloods splattered on the floor and seemed to form a direction. They were start from Kiau’s bed and continued all the way to the front of the door. The door was left open.
Kiau woke up from his sleep and stood up. He lifted his blanket and walked after the blood. He knew that the blood splatter only provoked him but he followed it anyway. It is too strange there were blood splatter on the hospital’s floor.
Kiau walked out the room, following the blood. He didn’t meet anyone. There weren’t doctor and nurse. It is still 4 pm, as seen on the clock on the wall in the hospital.
Kiau knew whose blood is was, that’s why he is still following it. He bites the bait without care about the consequence. He entered the trap.
Every step when Kiau followed the bloods. The smell of the blood entered his nostrils and then many simple memories popped up.
He saw himself in the class, “You get first rank again?” And he knew, he was in Morris’ perspective. I saw my own face in front of me looked so annoying. “And you get second rank again.” that was what him said to Morris.
He walked again and seeing the memories, “A person like you can’t defeat me in a game!” Morris and Kiau were in arcade, don’t know why they ended up there. And finally, Morris was defeated again. “Why do you are always lose?” Kiau asked it. Morris was so furious.
He was still walking and still seeing simple memories. “I win.” Morris grinned while showing up his valentine chocolates that he got, but in front of Kiau there are more valentine chocolates. Morris looks defeated again.
The next memories looked like in High School. But in this memories, Morris just looked at Kiau from far away. Around Morris there were many other student, and same as Kiau. This time they didn’t talk and seems distant. And Morris have his unique smile, his fake smile.
Morris finally get the first rank, but not in the same place with Kiau. Kiau still get the first rank in other place. Morris smiled but didn’t feel happy at all.
Kiau keeps going until he arrived at front of the door. The blood splatter stopped there. The door was unlocked, he opened it. But what did he see.
The room was covered in blood all over the floor, walls, and ceiling. Every room in the hospital that was supposed to be white turned blood red. In front of the window there was a person sitting covered in blood all over his body. He tied in the wheelchair.
“Why are you doing here?” said that person. He looked at Kiau. “Don’t ask how I’m doing.” he forced to chuckle like he used to do.
“All these wounds all over my body, even made me unable to know anymore where the pain came from.” Morris smiled awkwardly. He still tried to smile in this situation.
“Morris?” Kiau looked at him. He was covered with blood. There were many scratches on his body.
“This is absolutely a trap, why you come here?” Morris looked suffered and difficult to talk. “It is not like the usual you, Mr.Kiau.”
Kiau walked inside the room. The smell of the blood spread out. Kiau approached Morris. The wind made the scent stronger into his nostrils.
“You have change.” Morris said, “I think I am too.”
“I knew this is your blood, this isn’t time to talk.” Kiau untied the rope in Morris hands and foot. But because they were close, the scent of blood more stronger.
Suddenly Kiau stopped.
“Did you see it?” Morris looked desperate. “So we can’t go back to how we used to be.” Morris smiled, “Honestly I like you guys now. Rudal and that annoying person called Izen. And you too, Kiau.” Morris still talked.
Kiau didn’t answer anything, “That memories... you saw it didn’t you?” Morris asked again.
“If you saw it, so you can go now.” Morris looked at Kiau. Kiau continued untie the rope. “Didn’t I tell you this is a trap.”
“Didn’t I tell you this isn’t the time to talk.” Finally all the ropes have been released. Kiau lends him, his shoulder to help him walk.
“I killed you before,” Morris said, and he pushed Kiau out the window. He expended all his remaining strength. “But not again.”
Kiau fell from the window of the room. He looks confused at Morris. And before Kiau reaches the ground. The sound of a huge explosion came from the room. Morris smiled like a farewell smile and from behind him the bomb shattered the room.
Kiau silent on the ground frozen. It all happened so fast.
“Kiau? That’s you?!” Izen and Rudal ran towards Kiau from the hospital gate.
“Mr.Kiau? Are you okay?” Rudal looked at Kiau. Kiau was slightly injured by falling from second floor and getting scratched by trees. Kiau didn’t answer it.
“What was that explosion?” Izen looked up. Kiau still didn’t move even an inch. “For now we need to stay away from here. It’s too dangerous here.” Izen helped Kiau to walked away from there, Rudal also helped them.
Once again Kiau looked back. He looked up at the room which was shattered to pieces and full of smoke and dust.
“Morris was there.” Kiau said.
“What?! Morris?” Izen startled. “I have called the reinforcements. It is too dangerous for us, there could still be some bom left.”
“Mr. Morris...” Rudal looks worried.
