Chapter 19 Want to Fish But Get Hooked

“Kiau.” Izen looked down, “He is imprisoned. Morris’ testimony as one of the victim and also a witnesses is very necessary. With his testimony Kiau will be released from prosecution.”
“Why...” Rudal looked sad. “He’s just protecting himself...”
Izen continued, “Well, you heard yourself in the court. He did protect himself, but it was overkill by stabbing the victim multiple times.”
Izen sighed, “Everything is bad now. We even don’t know Morris is still alive or not. We can’t hold a proper funeral for him. The police still making him a missing person.” Izen puts his hand on his forehead, looking down at the floor.
“Can’t we do something?” Rudal looked at Izen full of hope.
“We can’t do anything. And it is really piss me off.” Izen looked really upset.
Rudal looked so gloomy.
After that few weeks passed. Inside a peaceful prison, Kiau stared blankly at the ceiling of his room. Until the prison guard came to his cell, and pick him up to the visiting room.
“You have a good friend, Mr.Kiau.” he smiled. “They always come every week.” he is Kiau’s cellmate.
Kiau just slightly nodded and walked out the cell with the prison guard.
“How are you Kiau?” Izen smiled as usual. Rudal stood beside him, while staring with sparkle in his eyes.
“Not bad.” Kiau answered with flat tone.
“We really miss you,” Izen and Rudal looked at him with the look of a puppy.
“You come here every week.” Kiau said coldly.
“Did you see the change in me?” Izen looked at Kiau full of hope.
“You look more like Rudal now, I mean your behaviour.” Kiau answered.
“Is that a compliment?” Izen chuckled, “My bangs are getting longer! Look them poke my eyes.”
“I will help them poke your eyes.” Kiau upset. “How can I know that your bangs are longer in just a week? I told you, you just visited last week.”
“Mr.Kiau, we are here to pick you up.” Rudal looks so excited, he straight to the point.
“What?” Kiau looks confused.
“So here we are,” Izen said. They are in police office. “It’s been a long time since I last teleported like this.” Izen smiled.
“We just arrived by the car.” said Kiau coldly.
“Can’t you let me be happy with my fantasy, I don’t have the power like you.” Izen looks sulked.
“What do you want with me?” Kiau straight to the point. Kiau hands still handcuffed.
“Let’s have a serious talk now.” Izen leans on the chair with serious face. Kiau and Rudal looked at him.
“We need you.” Izen looked at Kiau. “We need your help. This is something that only you can do.”
“Is this related to my ability to smell the blood?” Kiau looked back at Izen.
“It is yes and not.” Izen’s words made Kiau confused. “We want to use you as a decoy to lure them.” Izen looks excited. “Isn’t that a great idea?” Rudal nodded.
“I have used my time just to find the evidence to make this case become official case. And then I can use you, a prisoner, to help the investigation.” Izen said it proudly.
“You just said ‘use’ me.” Kiau looks used to Izen’s choice of words.
“I use the CCTV footage in the hospital.” Izen opened his document. “And Rudal found this!” he gave the paper to Kiau.
“Yes, I found it.” Rudal looked so happy.
“It’s he seemed really good at finding things.” Izen patted Rudal’s head.
Kiau looks used to it, he read thoroughly. “What? Human research?”
“It seems that there was human research being done in this area. There are five people who disappeared at the same time and there has been a news about them until now. It not that weird, but this is the last case that Morris was looking for before Kiau Youren’s disappearance.” Izen said.
“He... I have seen him before.” Kiau stopped turning the paper. There was someone photo with data his personal data.
“What? Did you remember something?” Izen looked at kiau curiously.
“No. But I have seen him in Finne’s memories.” Kiau looked back at Izen, “Do you remember I said there was someone else who lying on the bed beside myself in that memories?”
“I remember that.” Izen nodded, “Niem called him...”
“Irung.” the three of them said it together.
“But here his name is written Riiha. No last name.” Izen looked at the paper.
“Have you search about the people in this document?” Kiau asked.
“Yes, I have. But they background looks like it’s faked.” Izen scratched his non-itchy head. “Can we think about that later. We need a strategy to use Kiau as the decoy.”
“Wait, you don’t know yet how we lure them?” Kiau looks startled. “But you brought me here.”
“He he..” Izen laughed awkwardly.
Suddenly the telephone was ringing. Rudal stood up, “Let me pick it up.” he approached the phone.
“Hello? Who is there?” Rudal pick it up. Izen and Kiau were still talking.
“Oh,” the voice from the phone, “Can you open the door? My people can not get in. They only think of orders and can’t think of anything else, even just to open an unlocked door.” he chuckled.
Rudal looks confused. “What?”
“Oh please, just a minute.” the person in the phone begged.
“Ah.. wait,” Rudal opened the door.
“Who is there Rudal? And what-” Izen’s words got cut off.
“Uh? It-” Rudal turned his head at Izen.
Suddenly many people came in the room. Rudal pushed back. They were walking slowly and approached Izen and Kiau. Izen stood up with puzzled face.
“What are...” Izen was too confused to ask from where. “Wait they are police officer.” Izen realized those people are people he knows. But their gaze were blank.
“What are you doing here?” Izen asked but there wasn’t an answer. More and more of them entered and filled the room. Izen pushed back.
“What are you doing? Mr.Ten? Mr.Dera? Mr.Orlan?” Meanwhile Rudal asked them one by one, but ignored by them.
Izen heard, they were mumbling,”What are you saying? Bri-bring... him...”
“I think they want to bring me-” Kiau said who was being carried and taken away.
“That’s not what you think, THEY ARE BRING YOU WITH THEM.” Izen raised his voice. He tried to reach Kiau, but many people pushed him back. In there was crowded.
Even Rudal were no longer seen because he was being swallowed by the masses, Izen tried to call him, “Rudal?!”
“KIAU!! Why do you want to be taken by them like that?!” Izen shouted because they distance became more far. Kiau is taken away but he stay still.
“My hands was handcuffed.” Kiau lift his hands. “Didn’t we success luring them?” Kiau made a thumbs up.
“Don’t thumbs up at me.” Izen looked upset. “We are the ones caught by them.”
“Our one and only decoy,” Izen looks hopeless. Kiau was carried by the flow of masses.
