At Junming's apartment... Junming's POV... I enter the living room, feeling tired from tonight's business meeting over a drink session, yet I'm glad that we finally reach a good agreement. My eyes gaze to the dining table looking all clean and tidy, just as usual. The only thing can be seen on the table is just two cups of tea, which I assumed Yiling had made for the two of us. She must have waited for me to come home to drink tea with her, she eventually got tired and went to sleep. Looking at the sight of the two cups on table made me feel guilty, knowing that again, I wasn't able to be by her side when she needed me the most. I walk over to the bedroom and see that the door is open. Slowly I walk inside the room. On the bed, I see a beautiful woman sleeping peacefully on the bed, wearing her rose gold colored night gown, with her waist looking all comfortable covered with a blanket to her toe. Looking at her exhausted face, I couldn't help but feel guilt in my heart. Though she can be a dominating and a head-strong woman everytime we argue, deep down she is just a sensitive woman with a softer side. At this point, she looks upset, and it's probably because of me. I'm sorry, Yiling. I thought. Thinking of that in my head, I remember that I also felt sorry for Jiayi since I wasn't able to take care of her tonight that she got drunk. Cheng Junming, you just messed up with two women. Wait a minute...why are you even thinking about two women? Is this the effect from the alcohol? Surely I must have been thinking too much that these thoughts are starting to get mixed up. Not wanting to interrupt her sleep, I quietly walk to exit the bedroom. I'm gonna get myself clean up and later go to bed, where I can finally be next to her and hopefully shrug off all these thoughts. "Husband, are you back?" Her sleepy voice tinkles through my ears as I was about to step outside the room. I turn my head to see Yiling's eyes are slowly opening in a sleepy manner. My presence must have waken her up from her sleep. "Yes. I shall get some rest. I'll go clean up first," I say, not wanting her to worry about me more, I just want her to know that I'll be with her after this. "Ok," she says, before slowly closing her eyes again, looking like she's ready to continue her slumber. After hearing her answer, I walk out of the bedroom to get myself clean up, and eventually get some rest for tonight as I acompany her. The next day... 10:45 AM... At Tiancha Bubble Milk Tea Shop... Jiayi's POV... I sit quietly on the chair from where I took a rest for a moment last night, yet tears continue to flow down my eyes as I continue to listen to my mom's constant fury from last night. I really didn't expect that she would react this way just because she found out Junming was there, and he even drove me back home, which I think only got her more furious. Even after the hard slap, she didn't bother to get a bit of sleep and had been constantly getting angry at me. I tried to explain to her about the situation, and that Junming and I didn't do anything that's out of the boundaries in hopes for her to calm down. Yet, my explanation only seem to make her more furious as she is now accusing me of lying, and that I am secretly dating a married man. Well, being honest to myself, though I did found Junming to be a charming and gentle person, falling in love with him would be the last thing on my list. I know he's a married man, and after my experience of falling in love with Liwei who turned out to be engaged, I don't want to put my heart in pain, again. "I raised you well and this is what you did to our family, all because you wanted to be with a married man," my mom says in fury. I forgot how many times she had repeated these words, since my eyes are sleepy due to the lack of sleep, yet my head is stressful after all the arguments we had all night. "Since you think you know better than me, than I suppose you must know what's best for you. It's better you leave this place now since you know so much more of what's best for you than me," my mom says, in a slightly lower tone this time, yet her words caught my attention for me to widen my sleepy eyes. I turn my vision up to stare at her, hoping that I misheard what I just heard. Not only did her eyes are filled with rage, but this time, I can see a look of grudge showing clearly in her gaze. It sends shivers to my body, because even though I knew my mom has always been someone with a temper, I've never seen her so angry than today for the times I've been living with her. I have a feeling that this time, she really wants to get rid of me, which honestly scares me. "What? Ma, I-" "I don't want to hear anymore explanation! You better get out of the house now before I kick you out," my mom says, this time in a higher tone filled with rage. "Ma, I am sorry about yesterday, but please-" "Get out," she shouts as she pulls my arm with agression. She slaps me hard on the left cheek before pulling my arm again and dragging me to the enterance of the milk tea shop. "It's enough you ruin my sleep and now I can't open the tea shop. I don't want to see your face ever again," my mom says as she pushes me out of the tea shop, before locking the enterance door, leaving me to stood outside with my arm still in pain from the sudden yank. Yet, what's more painful than the sudden grip from my mom was that she actually kicked me out of the house, just because she found out that I was out with a married man who she assumed I had a relationship with. Slowly, I feel tears starting to come out from my eyes as I stare at the milk tea shop, in which I can no longer call it my home. I feel like I just lost everything in this world. Other than my home, what's more painful is feeling that I've lost my mom due to a misunderstanding. Tired, sad, my hope just broke into pieces when she forcefully pushed me out without mercy, hence breaking my heart. Mom, I never wanted to disappoint you like this. Just because I went out with Junming, it doesn't mean I am disobeying you by dating him. I only wanted to be friends with him, just because he gives me this comfortable feeling of a mature man. I understand that you are concern of me, but don't you know that he is not that type of person? Why did you have to take it the wrong way that you had to kick me out? In this moment, I feel like my greatest fear had just begun, and that I lost the person who I had always thought was the only one I had.....my own mother. At Xiyang Hydroelectric Company... 11:50 AM... Junming is in his office sorting out some files as he waits for a few more minutes until lunch time. He heard from Liwei about the Chinese takeaway next to their office, Instant Pot, which serves some delicious foods of various choices. Though Yiling still insisted to bring him lunch, he had told her to not worry about him and get more rest, especially knowing that she is pregnant right now, he wanted his wife to take care of herself more. By that, he decided to eat outside during lunch in hopes to not trouble her. As Junming put aside his files on his desk, his phone suddenly rings a notification of a new message. He grabs his phone on his desk, in which Yiling's name is displayed on his screen, signaling that there is a new message from her. "Husband, don't work so hard that you forget about your lunch." - Yiling. Reading the message, Junming smiles as he types to reply to his wife. He felt happy to receive a caring message from her. "I'll go have my lunch now. You too, eat more and get plenty of rest." - Junming. After replying to his wife, Junming puts his phone in his pocket as he gets up from his chair. He walks over to exit the door, ready to go down to get his lunch. As Junming walks over to the elevator, his phone suddenly rings again. Only this time, it's not a notification of a new message, yet a ringtone which signals that someone is calling. He grabs his phone from his pocket to see who is calling, only to feel a bit surprised to see the name that is displayed on his screen. "Hello," Junming answers the call. To be continue...
